AIEEE 2012 Key and Solutions
AIEEE, All India Engineering Entrance Examination, the qualifying examination for the admission into the premier National Institutes of Technology (NITs) has been discontinued since 2013 with NIT Council accepting the revised entrance format. Candidates aspiring to get into NITs need to give only JEE MAINS. XII board marks too will play a role in the final merit list.
According to the new NIT admission process, a final rank will be a combination of
1. Normalised XII Board marks carrying a weightage of 40%. In AIEEE(the current qualifying exam for NITs), XII board marks have no role in the final ranking. It is one of the eligibility criteria.
2. JEE MAINS score with a weightage of 60%.
The following information is being given for a student to get an idea about AIEEE.
AIEEE 2012 was conducted on 29th April.
AIEEE 2012 was a 3 hour examination (9.30 am to 12.30 pm). There were 90 questions and the total marks for the paper were 360.
There were 4 version of the question paper – A, B, C & D.
There were 4 choices for all questions.
Physics – There were 3 assertion reasoning type questions. All the other questions were multiple choice questions. The paper was moderately difficult.
Chemistry – There were no assertion reasoning type or comprehension questions. The paper was easy to moderately difficult.
Mathematics – There were 5 assertion reasoning questions & the rest were multiple choice questions. The paper was easy to moderately difficult.
