The dying stages of the Tamil Nadu Regional Finals were a carbon copy of the Chennai City Finals that preceded this event at Kamaraj Auditorium, Chennai.For the first time in the history of Aqua Regia, there were two all-girls team among the contestants on stage. These were TVS Matric, Madurai who created a first one week earlier by becoming the first all-girls team to win an Aqua Regia event and St. Patrick Puducherry who won the Chennai City Finals.

The outcome of the event was again – like the Chennai City Finals – decided on the very last question of the competition. The girls from TVS Matric were placed third at the start of the final, Rapid Fire Round. In a round that could fetch a maximum of 100 points, TVS Matric secured a net of 35 points – winning 40 on the buzzer and losing 5 points on a wrong answer.

The boys from SBOA, Madurai, who had finished behind TVS in the Madurai City finals decided to place very safe in the final round and paid the price. They saw their lead getting reduced with every passing question and when they finally decided to play for points, it was a trifle too late. TVS went for the buzzer aggressively and beat SBOA to the second place by a margin of nine points.

TVS Matric, Madurai will represent Tamil Nadu Regionin the National Finals of Aqua Regia on 3rd December in Hyderabad.  T.I.M.E. is making an attempt to create a Guinness World Record for the Biggest Quiz in theworld on 3rd December 2007.
