Pattern of the Paper:

NEET – Phase I was conducted only in the offline (paper and pen) mode. NEET – Phase II is also scheduled to be conducted in the offline mode only. The NEET exam consists of a single paper with 180 objective type questions with four options provided, of which only one option would be correct. The aspirants have to mark the correct answer of the OMR sheet provided with the NEET paper using a blue/ black ball point pen ONLY.
The 180 multiple choice questions in the NEET paper are usually distributed between subjects as given below:
Physics – 45 MCQs; Chemistry – 45 MCQs; Botany – 45 MCQs and Zoology – 45 MCQs

The time duration of the NEET exam:

NEET exam is conducted for a duration of 3 hours. The time schedule for NEET II is as given below:

  1. Entry in the Examination Hall : 7.30 AM to 9.30 AM
  2. Checking of Admit Cards by the invigilator : 9.30 AM to 9.45 AM
  3. Distribution of Test Booklet : 9.45 AM
  4. Seal of the Test Booklet to be broken/ opened to take out the Answer Sheet : 9.55 AM
  5. Latest Entry in the Examination Hall : 9.30 AM
  6. NEET exam Commences 10.00 AM
  7. NEET exam Concludes : 01.00 PM

Marking scheme:

4 marks for every correct response
1 mark to be deducted for every incorrect response
No deduction to be made if no response is indicated for an item in the answer sheet.
More than one answer indicated a question will be deemed as incorrect response and will be negatively marked.

Language of the Question Paper:-

Candidates can opt for Question Paper either in English or in Hindi while filling in the application form and the option cannot be changed later.

Candidates opting for English would be provided Test Booklet in English only and the candidates opt for Hindi would be provided Test Booklet in both Hindi and English, i.e., Bilingual.
