Analytical Reasoning & Decision Making
No. of Questions: 31
This section would have given students the opportunity to even the scores as
this was the easier of the three sections and afforded enough opportunities to
score. The questions on puzzles were of the moderate-difficult level and the
ones on ‘class schedule’, the couples in a singing competition and
the one on students of engineering colleges could have been attempted. The
decision making questions were very tricky than what was seen in previous XAT
papers and would have made scoring extremely difficult. The key in this section
would be to identify a couple of sets and spend around 10-12 minutes to figure
out the logic as the payback was quite high with every set having 4-5 Qs in it.
The expected score for this section should be around 5-6 in about 40 min. A score
of 12+ should be considered excellent. The cut-off is expected to be around
9-10.
