Aqua Regia - The Science Quiz 2015
The National Finals of Aqua Regia – The Science Quiz 2015 came within one point of creating a new record. But then it did also. The team from PSBB Millenium School, Coimbatore pipped the girls from Chettinad Vidya Mandir, Karur in the tie-breaker question and won the National Championship. The margin of Victory - One Point. This assumes great significance when we consider the fact that each question in the final Rapid Fire Round had a weightage of Ten Points. This is the narrowest margin of victory in the history of Aqua Regia - The Science Quiz, the Annual All India Inter-School Science Quiz conducted by T.I.M.E. since 2006. Had the girls from Karur won, they would’ve been the first all-girls team to win Aqua Regia national title.
Conducted in 23 cities across India, Aqua Regia - The Science Quiz 2015 brought together the best of the Science Quizzing Talent and saw some fierce on-stage competitions during its three month, five stage Quizzing Process. This year’s national finals was also special in that it saw multiple teams from outside the traditional metro cities qualify for the national finals. KV ONGC from Agarthala representing Kolkata Region, PSBB Coimbatore and Chettinad Vidya Mandir representing Chennai and Bangalore Region and Jaishree Periwal High School, Jaipur representing Delhi Region.
