sunil: take up all your AIMCATs and idetify VA questions of different types and work on one type of question at a time. For each type, first work out the basic SM in your TIME material and then move on to thje AIMCAT questions. Focus on quality of preparation that Quantity!

pcr: please note that 'easier' is a relative term. you need HARD WORK for both the jumps you're referring to, the return on HARD WORK gets thinner and thinner as you progress

Is this because there is a huge difference in difficulty level of the DI sets in the Aimcats and the TIME material, or am i just not able to perform in the Aimcats? Please advise.
sai: The Qs in TPBs and prac exer are models of previous CAT Qs. WIth higher levels of practice you are finding it easy. With enough practice of the AIMCAT Qs, CAT2009 will look like childs play.

sunil: With very few questions, one could guess that it will not be very easy. But, whether it will be difficult or very difficult or moderate, we can't guess! Your scores being lown in the 3 m/ques AIMCATs should only be a coincidence. They are no different form the 4 m/ques AIMCATS...

sunil: 1) Look at a uniform distribution of time across sections 2) DO not be nervous excessively and do not hesitate. More importantly, do not waste time worrying whether ur answer will be correct or wrong.

sai: This scheme penalises those who guess too much. Strive for accuracy and eschew guesses in such papers

sai: Read Qs quickly, go back to the passage and try to answer them. With increasing practice you will be able to crack the logic to be used ion solving the trickier Qs. A good reading habit is a must. read newspapers on a daily basis.

sunil: You need to work on your test taking strategy. Inconsistency is usally due to imporper time mangement and not reading all the questions in each section. These are critical for a good and consistent percentile, unless u r hyper intelligent!

pcr: no ayush, remember the VA toppers don't do it with one ques type alone. with preparation (pay attention to sentence structure when you read, and recognise the application of grammar tools) you should be able to achieve a good strike rate with these questions. Recognise main clauses, subordinate phrases/clauses, look at their structure, how they're connected, and how they're placed

niranjan: SIR, HOW MANY RC'S SHOULD WE SOLVE IN VA SECTION?
pcr: depends on what proportion they form of the VA segment, however - 2 AT LEAST. Also remember it's more about the number of questions, so if you can confidently answer 10 questions in 3 rcs, by not getting bogged down with particular questions, that is better than breaking your head over 2, only to answer 6 !!
