kranthi: time material is adequate .read extensively and regularly that will help.

ashu: hell sir, sir i gave cat last year but the performance of mine was not good. so i thaught of giving cat 2009. i have geaduated in 2008 july and currently not doing anything , so will i face problem in interview of b-school.
kranthi: looks like a long gap it would be better if u have a job at time of interview.

yobo: how one should prepare online test, is it really diiferent frm paper based test
kranthi: no change in the basic preparation except taking more tests on line and reading more online.

sai: I am happy that you like the 'Test a day' feature. We are looking at the solution issue and we will incorporate the 'view solutions' feature in a few days time.

kranthi: all topics are equally important.

gaurav: how will we get an accurate percentile in online aimcats?
sai: Just as you get it in a Paper & Pencil tests!! We expect students to take the non-invigilated tests seriously and therefore not cheat in them.

sai: AIMCATs for our Full Course students start from the 24th of May. 15 AIMCATs will be Online

kanth: sir the CAT goes online from this year,the reading comprehension will be same or the size of paragraph will decrease or not?
sai: Even if they go for the normal length passage they will probably give a scroll feature so that you can read the passage

aj: sir in job experience is call centre job counted? and what kind of job is counted? if i work with my parents in his company will it be considered as an experience?
kranthi: depends on what u were doing in call centre.the weightage to work experience also depends on the reputation of organisation as well as job profile.

singh: How will the admission process for other inst like MDI,NITIE,and other CAT based selection process get affected???
kranthi: it is not going to change radically.

kanth: i appearing CAT 2009, for how much time i have too practice daily?
sai: Around 3 hrs per day should be fine

aditya: I really want to get into IIM-C. What criteria in particular do they look for?
kranthi: the selection criteria are on student home page.grapevine says a good score in quant is favourably looked at.

vikram: Is ISME A GOOD Institute.Is its course structure and faculties are good.
kranthi: isme bangalore gets a mention under other good institutes category compiled by time.

manju: even though TIME is starting AIMCAT from this week,i heard it's for TIME students(full time course).y its like that this time.I am old student of TIME.when the AIMCATs are scheduled to start for others?
sai: If you are an old student of TIME then yuou can register for the test series and take the test from 24th May. Please contact your nearest center for details

macho jr: Sir, do you think our preparation strategy should be different for CAT and other exams like XAT, SNAP as CAT is online and the others not...
kranthi: preparation stategy more or less same.test taking strategies may differ.

singh: I find the whole thing of CAT going online disrobing the exam of its charm...Dont u think setting so many Q-papers and 10 day window is just complicationg things.......
sai: Maybe it is but then you have to accept the change and plan your strategy for success in this format as well

robin: Sir as you are saying that AIMCATs will start from 24th. But sir our batch starts in April only and till now we are learning Basics. So how will it be possible for us to give AIMCATs when we are learning basics only?
sai: Go ahead and take it for the experience..there are 22 AIMCATs so dont worry about you running out of AIMCATs!

jivi: what was the cut of for last year in iim
kranthi: cut offs differ from iim to iim and across categories.

sagardeep: As the CAT is online this year, what kind of passages we can expect? Will it be similar to passages in GMAT? What other type of questions can be expected in the verbal section?
sai: All the types of Qs that were part of the Paper & Pencil CAT can be expected to come in this year's CAT. Passages can be lengthy as well. Do not expect any large scale changes in the type of Qs that can be asked

sai: About an hour and half for Verbal; an hour for Quant and 45 minutes for DI/Reasoning in a day is the broad allocation

sai: Taking tests from all websites is not sufficient...What is required is that you take high quality tests and take the AIMCATs to accelerate your learning. Please contact your nearest TIME office for the info

yoh: will online cat affect our speed.....?
sai: If your concepts are strong then it will make no difference if CAT is online or not. If your concepts are weak it will not matter if CAT is Online or not.

aditya: Is having no work experience a significant disadvantage? I am doing my B.Sc(IT) course and I have extremely strong verbal scores and average quant scores. My percentile in the last AIMCAT was 97.76. Do I have a good shot at the IIMs with practise?
sai: Absolutely yes!!

123abc: sir...i m taking coaching for cat 2009...and i have given attempt for cat 2008.the score what i have got in cat 2008 is very less.till nowi havent start my preparation.and the time which i sleft for for the cat 2009 will be sufficent for the preparation? in what way we can do it....
sai: Work out all the Study Material books; take all AIMCATs and analyse each of the AIMCATs and youi will certainly get a good score....The time is sufficient for cracking CAT2009

gaurav mittal: I completed my Btech in 2005 but had a number of arrears which took a lot of time to complete, besides personal reasons. I shall my clearing all the arrears within 2009. What chance do I stand in CAT 2009 with this 4-year long gap ?
sai: If you do well i.e. get 98+ %ile then it will not make any difference

yoh: how do i prepare cat 09,as have just started preparing for cat...plz need suggestions n which stram should i select seeing the current scenario... ( i am doing Mechanical engg.. n in TE)
kranthi: u have the option of choosing ur stream after u get into a b school for many instis.ur choice will depend on ur aptitude interest and career oppurtunities in that field.

sai: The Test a Day will have different formats that CAT can introduce this year. It is quite possible that the IIMs will not give you the option to skip Qs so you need to prepare for this type as well

sai: Very much possible..the Test a day pattern also will keep changing to acquaint you with all possible formats of the Online CAT
