Preparation tips for Data Interpretation!
(Chat Transcript)

krish: Dear sirs, i was a full course student of TIME for cat 08 and now i'm part of the advance correspondence course. is there anyway i can meet the faculty at TIME for some career guidance. if yes, how do i go about it.
sai: Please contact your local T.I.M.E. centre

praveen: how can do Di problems quickly
sai: Only with adequate practice and knowledge can you go to this level where problems can be solved quickly

sur: hello sir.... with 2 months to go.. what should be the strategy...
sai: Revise all AIMCATS and Online sectional tests to get a good grip over DI

sravya_choco: good evening sir, how to improvise in di? and reduce time
kranthi: do our material it is exhaustive and sufficient.practice with time limit and analyse without time limit.

vaibhs: Dear sirs,What should be the strategy for Di with reduced no of questions?
kranthi: allocate correct amount of time.scroll through the questions before u answer them.select ones u are confident about to start with.allocate time for each set and monitor ur progress.

janu: sir i have problem with network problems in di...how can i solve them?? and can u also tell me how much percentile is needed for st caterogy to get calls.sectional wise n overall??
kk: 86 - 89 overall with 70+ sectional cut oofs. Get help from our faculty on network problems

sohil: it becomes difficult and time consuming to solve questions which involve filling tables because it needs to be redrawn. How do i tackle these questions?
sai: This is an area where everyone is slow. The only way to do such Qs is to redraw the table and then work out the Qs

aj: What is the diffence between MC's and CRT's in the student homepage?
sai: CRTs are close replicas of previous CAT papers and MC are papers modeled on the lines of previous CAT papers

debi: for every problem we have to solve the problem totally or any guess (approx. ans)is also correct ? many times it gives wrong answers ???
sai: Guessing should never be done in DI or QA. Guessing is fine in VA in case you have narrowed down the options to just 2

vimal: Dear sir i am missing minute details while going through problems and i have to pay heavily for it aim 1014 shelves sum (each student try to get as many as possible)this i missed how to overcome this in the given time period
sai: Those kind of Qs also stump the 99+ students and it isnt the easy type. The key is that once you have seen such a Qs the next time you see a similar set then you should be able to solve it.

nishitmehta: My OA pecentiles have consistelear Intly been in 85-95%ile range. However,I have failed to clear DI cutoffs on a consistent basis, more often than not due to wrong selection of set. Also my speed is just about average.so my attempts are also not that high.please help me get rid of both these problems.
kk: You need to work on the different types of qns to get familier with a variety of patterns. Keep a target of two weeks to complete SM 1010012 and the TPB on DI

atik: sir as instructed in last cd,i m preparin di in dat way only,i divided di topics like table piecharts etcn preparin in dat way only first sm den extra ques book, but its takin time ,is dat ok?
sai: Great! I am happy that you are following our advice diligently

guddu: How many sectional tests one can take in a day provided one devotes a max of 4 hours of study after work??
sai: Each test will require abt 2-3 hrs to work out and analyse

arun: hi. i am a lil bit worried abt d d.i part.my performance in aimcat s in d.i is not particularly good. wat do u suggest so that i can top the d.i section
kk: practice and proper analysis is the main key...

ascending: sir , it is said that selection of set is the most imp thing in di ..how that should be done??
sai: Familiarity and complexity of the Qs involved

akash: which chapters are important feor DI
sai: All of them!

vimal: Dera sir i wonder how genius the aimcat prepartion faculty must be to prpare such a wide variety of problems through this forum i want to wish them one thing they ar e brilliant and they expertised
sai: Thanks for the compliment. I will pass this on to the team.

vijay: Hi Sai sir.If i go thro all the DI sets in all AIMCATS,will it be enough prep for the real CAT.Will CAT09 spring up some other DI pattern that is not covered in the AIMCATS?
sai: The CAT2009 is unlikely to spring a bigger surprise than the T.I.M.E AIMCATs. revise all AIMCATS and that will prepare you really well for CAT2009

nix: Sir since this is d first time prometric is doin CAT, can v xpect sm questions 2 gt repeatd 4m earlier cat...iims shld ve given them sm ques 2 give them an idea..rite???
sai: I dont think that the IIMs will take such a risk and repeat the Qs but even if they do so then you would have been adequately prepared as our AIMCATs and Online sectional tests have replicated all the Qs that the IIMs had given in previous years.

rohit: sir how to improve LR with 2 months remaining? We have not started with LR lectures @ T.I.M.E yet.. :(
sai: Solve the reasoning Qs in the SMs and do some good puzzles from puzzle books available in the market

payal: How is DI & DS in TISS HR paper. Is it easier than CAT?I think there are abt 30 questions on it, so how much shud i ideally score? Are there sectional cutoffs in Part 1 & 2?
sai: It is far far easier. The sectional cutoffs are there but they are not too difficult to achieve

work: is it a good strategy to chose jus some particular sets, spend enough time on them and solve it entirely then doing some qsts in all sets?
sai: YES

?: no one answering?
sai: We are answering!! Whats your Qs?

mart: sir what r the important topics to be covered in di section and where can i get more practice sections other than in our cat material
kranthi: our cat material is exhaustive and sufficient.practice a lot of. questions on percentages and comparision of fractions to start with.

akash: how can i do DI problems faster and easily
sai: With regular and repeated practice

payal: I am weak in DI? Which book should i buy?
sai: TIME material is sufficient

jdc9kh03: is study material 2nd sufficient for cat 2009 provided by time
kranthi: our material is more than sufficient.

sangy: good evening sir....i was not able to cleared the cut offs in DI in all the Aimcats...im very much dissappointed...i used to do a lot of practice using reasoning handout...but wen it comes to xam,im can't....what will i do sir?
kk: be mentally stable dont dishearten ur self... u have a ability 2 perform....just try 2 give as many mock cats as possible and dont forget to analyse them its v.imp.

agc: sir m ver weak in game problems.evn after goin thru sum probs i stil hav difficulty in figuring out a game prob.evn da solution seems confusing.plz help out
kk: Pl see answer to similar qn

averagescore: after solving MCs and CRTs is there any way to know the expected cutoff marks?
sai: They will be put up on the Student Home Page on www.time4education.com

vijay: Hi Sir.Plz answer this. This question pertains to general CAT.Considering the history of previous CATs,is it safe to assume that getting 40% marks in all the 3 sections will fetch more than 99%ile(overall) irrespective of the difficuly level of the upcoming CAT09?
sai: Depends on the Difficulty level of the paper. But around 45% of the total marks is good enough for 99+

aj: When we attempt D.I .. Can u give a strategy to approach the L.R and D.I parts.. How much time for each.. Which should be attempted first preferably?
sai: Attempt Qs in the LDI section based on diffiuclty level and your comfort level with the Qs type

sohini04: Sir, considering only two months r left should i give more time to DI which is my weakest area..or i should concentrate more on quants? i miss cut-offs inDI b a uge marin.
kranthi: clearing the cutoffs must be the first priority. then u can think of maximising score.focus on plugging the gaps.

ank: assuming that i am not very good in di and about 70days left which topics should i cover to get a good score in di
kk: First, take up SM 1001012 and complete the DI sets. Move on to the TPB in DI. Simultaneously, start working on the tests a day. Then, take up the AIM CATs, categorise questions into different types like tournaments, maxima minima, networks etc and work on them

nix: sir with reduced nmbr of ques(60-70), wat shld b our strategy???!
kranthi: discuss the strategy u are using currently with ur faculty and take his help to fine tune ur strategy.

pooja: in aimcats my score varies too much sumtome in difficult aimcat i score gud marks n sumtime in easy one i get d poor marks , i dont understand dis why it is happening .pls help me out sir.
sai: Dont worry. That is so because the papers are extremely difficult and there is a lot of variation in the composition of the tests. Please work out the sets when you are at home and ensure that you understand the logic behind solving the Qs. If you do this you will be well prepared for CAT2009

neha: i am able to do the questions at home but i m unable to perform in t test
kk: This is a problem that a lot of students have. It means that the issue is not with your ability but is more to do with what you in the 2 hrs 15 mts (ie your approach)

nix: sir with reduced nmbr of ques(60-70), wat shld b our strategy???!
sai: Answered already

sangy: sir, please tell me the right way of evaluating the aimcats....various people tell various ways...im confused...please help me sir.
kk: Pls check out the link 'how to get the best out of AIM CATs' on your student page

sravya_choco: how many di sets are ideally to be solved in this new cbt pattern?
kranthi: at least n-1 sets with 80 percent accuracy.

catninja: Hi Sir, I am facing a lot of problem in DI&LR. I find it very difficult to solve the puzzle type questions. Taking so much of time. But after taking the test, I am able to solve them taking my own time. I am practicing this section for quite some time. But still not comfortable. What should be my approach. First start with the DI and then only the LR or the other way round
kk: There have been CAT papers with very liitle of LR and a lot fo DI. So, don't ahve any pre-fixed mindsets. Pick up qns which look appealing to you

iim: thanx times now i have a aim.
sai: Welcome

ascending: i usually get stuck up in a set and after giving 15 -20 mins i realise that only 1 q is done from this set. and other set when compared can be easily cracked in a few mins .but then no time left .what to do???
kk: dont spend too much time....go ahead ,scan ,pick up the easy one

guru: sir preparation for DI from DEX, AIMCATS of this year,MCs will that be enough?? or do I need to solve anything more?
sai: Also do the TPBs and CRTs

disec: sir its very difficult for me to solve problems sitting arrangements what shud i do?
sai: Practice more of such Qs as they are quite a favorite with the IIMs

raj_shelat: I had good command over DI when I was studying in school & college. I used to solve Di questions for my bro who was preparing for CAt at that time. But now I am unable to solve questions that much effectively, please guide me how to go about the same???
kk: may be ur not giving full concentration... practice more and more and try meditation.

akash: what is the strategy for preparingfor DI
sai: Answered already

nix: sir with reduced nmbr of ques(60-70), wat shld b our strategy???!
sai: Reduced Qs mean very little choice and this means that you cant afford to have a weakness in any kind of Qs

nrmstar: Sir, whenever in AIMCATS a tournament based set is asked I dont attempt it & my score goes low. I tried analysing many touranemt based questions but even after looking at solutions I am not comfortable with it. I tend to skip it. What to do? Also can we keep this type of question for option as they are lengthy also?
sai: If you practice enough then you will start liking the Qs and also become proficient in it. Dont ignore this Qs type.

nishitmehta: My OA pecentiles have consistntly been in 85-95%ile range.I have NOT solved speed maths book.I have solved SM 101005,101008 and a couple of ttests frm TPB.What plan shud I follow frm now onwards to get a high score in DI on C Day??
kk: SM 101012 and SM 101014 and then a thorough review of the last 10 years CST papers and the AIm CATs

nix: sir are mgmnt quota seats available...? l it reduce our chances at sibm,tapmi,imt,mdi...etc...???!
sai: Answered

nix: sir are mgmnt quota seats available...? l it reduce our chances at sibm,tapmi,imt,mdi...etc...???!
sai: Mgmt quota seats dont eat into the General quota seats so dont worry about it.

rahul: sir!! are d daily online test enough to get a grip on d d.i section.?
kranthi: do aimcats tpbs and crts along with them.

watshaker: how good a b-school is alliance bangalore??
kk: We rate it B+ . Check out our ranking

iim: i have given various exam like oracle java certification exams etc through prometric,n in all exams i got question paper of the exam before exam, they call them dumps,so it can happen dat same will happen with iim also?y dey selectd prometrics :((
sai: That is a Qs best answered by Prometric and the IIMs. I dont think such a thing will happen with CAT

om: could you please provide the names of any good books on puzzles?
sai: Answered

sur: sir i spend most of the time practicing quants... in a few aimcats the percentiles improved in quants but again it has gone down to 55. this is the only loosing section of mine.. and i attempt this section atlast. does it have to do with poor performance.sir please advise me how to tackle with this..
kk: You say that you spend a lot on time on quants. Hope you are clear on why you are studying what you are studying. Again, in the tests, you don't have to do too many qns for 80 percentile, let alone 60 percentile. Are you trying to attempt too many qns with accuracy levels going down as a result?

sniper: Sai sir, i usually miss DI cutoff by 1-2 marks. When i analyze the paper at home [using a printout], i am able to solve more qstns. This has happened for 4 out of the past 5 papers. Does this mean that i have not yet adapted to the CBT format ? [ i DONT face a similar problem in VA or QA]Any suggestions on how to overcome this ? P.S : I have already solved 22 of the 30 Test a Day series .
sai: yes it means that you are not yet completely comfortable with Online DI but the solution is not to do Paper versions of the tests. Revise the AIMCAT Qs and try to recollect the approach used in solving them

work: apart from practicing from the aimcats- is there any other preparation needed fr di sir?
kk: First, get the basics correct by going through the DEX and DAT papers, SM 101012 and the TPB before taking up the AIM CATs

godismyhelper: sir plz rate the following in the decreasing level of quality so that preperation can be scheduled accordingly..(for DI section) AIMCATS,MOck CATS,CRT,Daily Tests,TPBs n Advanced SM ...
sai: AIMCATS>Daily TEsts>TPBs>CRT>MC>Advanced SM

bebo: hello sir.....SORRY FOR A POST UNRELATED TO THE TOPIC!! i didn't apply for the FPM progs of IIMs.should i edit my application now. Would that affect the choices of PGDMs in any way? PLZ REPLY
kk: No worry

rahul: actually i have problem with questions on tournaments?? what should i do?? plz advice??
kk: Take up some questions on seeding, knockout &league tournaments and spend some time over them. You would then be able to unwravel some of the knots. Then, seek the help of a faculty. This will help you to first know the problems you are facing so that the methods which are explained, stick to your mind

guru: sir,any quant topics to be covered so as to solve di more comfortably??
kranthi: percentages' averages are relevant.

ankcat: sir,on analysing aimcats from 1015 to 1010, I have seen that the questions across all sections were quite easy to make a place for myself in the toppers list.but when i sit down to give the test with time running side by side i get tensed and hyped.it is only later i realise that I could have done much better.what do i do. I really want to see my %tile in 90's.please help
sai: Manage stress and when in the exam hall do not worry about the result. Just worry about maximizing your attempts

aj: After The 1st level of covering different patterns of DATA and also doing quite a few L.R problems and also developing your Percentage and ratio prop.... I seem to have HIT A WALL in my progress in the SCORES... What do i do next to improve scores???
kranthi: start working on the aimcats and tpbs and other material we have given .hitting a wall is pretty common after a certain stage of preparation.just continue the good work.

watshaker: the logical reasoning questions are very tricky sometimes giving the impression that more than 1 option is correct. What should be the right approach?
sai: If you practice the Online sectional tests, the MCs, CRTs and the TPBs this impression will change.

emit: As i was desperate to crack CAT, i took Loss of Pay leaves and have gone home for studies. But my scores havent improved much(dangling b/w 80-90%). Now with my job in danger and not seeing much hope here, what do you think i should do as i am in utter confusion. But i am desperate for MBA.
sai: Get back to work and prepare in your free time. 80-90 is a good range to be in. try to get it past 90 and you will end up getting a great percentile in CAT. Try to remain calm and focussed as any tension will lead to a lower level of performance in the AIMCATs. A thorough analysis of the AIMCATs can help you get to the 90+ club. Make 3-4 fewer mistakes and you should make it. So dont worry and keep preparing

raj_shelat: How many % questions should be sufficient to get calls from atleast 3 IIMs? It would be great if you can generalize or else you can give specific example.
kranthi: depends on factors like ur accuracy and difficulty level off the paper.

disec: sir i hav missed some of the DI classes will i get HO of that classes?
kranthi: visit the nearest time branch and speak to the counsellor.

aditya: is anyone of u keen on answering my questions?
sai: Please scroll down and look at the chat transcript. The same Qs has been answered for many students

nn: DS with logical reasoning is toughest! do these come in CATs ? also , in CAT are all questions of same marks or diff ?
kranthi: yes . last year every question carried 4 marks.

sniper: Sir, does the strategy for non-CAT exams change in any significant way. For example, do some tests focus more on LR or DI or speed ??
sai: No it doesnt. Try to do well in all sections and also maximise your score. Since the tests are easy-moderate difficulty level the scores will be on the higher side and the cutoffs will also be higher

watshaker: the di section dealing with lots of pie charts are very time consuming and being an online one you have to keep scrolling every now and then.Should leaving these type of questions be corrrect?
sai: NO. Dont leave them. Try to master them for they might come in CAT and with each set you leave out it becomes that much more difficult to clear the cutoffs

ascending: unlike most of the people , i am unable to draw a significant difference between my strengths and weaknesses . what i do first gives me the best .plz guide me the sequence of attempt . last year i attempted di at last and ruined it. qa was cleared and va average.
kranthi: start with ur area of comfort and do not attempt ur weakest in the end.

?: i feel lrdi requires a gr8 deal of patience and concentration(since assumptions are the core part for good no.of lrdi questions). do u think this section should be solved last and/but allotted more time?
kk: What you need to do is to work on different patterns/types of LR/DI qns so that the overall time you take to do this section comes down

rahul: ideally should i do di questions at d end or begining???
kranthi: whichever suits u best.

watshaker: the qustions having multiple venn diagrams mixed in one require a very high level of concentration. How to develop that sort of concentration?
sai: Meditation can help and I dont of any other way of improving concentration

ankcat: sir what is the right time to finish the sectional tests, mc and crt's and their revision to score a good percentile.is it good to take the sectional tests like a paper-i section of english, 1 of di and the other of quant -everyday till 30 such tests are over covering all 90 sectional tests.
sai: By end Oct latest. You can take the sectional tests like a full length paper

nix: are d rankings of AIMA correct...???! i find lotta diff b/w tat n time ranking....
sai: Trust TIME

agc: sir i joined 4 coachin pretty late.is it necessary 2 finish the basic n advanced material for reasonin n di in order 2 take "test a day".or shud i do both side by side.i assumed that i shud finish al sm,tpb then start takin "test a day".
kk: At least finish the SMs before you start on the test a day

amu: sir,i hv completed my basics of di now then 2 months are sufficient 4 further practice
kranthi: yes.

work: sir can i get an access to the test a day qsts? i am an aimcat basic series student... can we get it from the time office?
sai: It isnt available to AIMCAT Basic studnets

om: Sir please answer my query which books to follw for puzzle?
sai: Shakuntala devi puzzle book, george summers puzzle book

ascending: is calculation based di still active in cat format . i mean the heavy calculations.?? how to identify the easy sets??
sai: Calculation based DI is very much possible in CAT. Identifying easy sets requires practice and with that comes the ability to identify the ones to attempt

sravya_choco: sir now that am done with all basic material of cat what am i supposed to do now?
kranthi: do tpbs crts and aimcats. take on line tests.

watshaker: i used to get good percentile in the range of 85-95+ in earlier aimcats. But being a final year be be student i lost a bit of focus due to my college engagements.as a result my scores have dipped below 70%ile.Do i stand any chance if i pull up my socks from now on?
kk: Definitely yes, with 2 months to go

virinchi: sir, i feel pretty comfortable with DI while solving practice exercises and test papers but in the aimcats i miss the cutoffs by 1 or 2 marks.. hw can i improve..??
kranthi: aim cat standards are kept deliberately high so as to prepare u for the worst.do not worry if ur overall comfort level with the topic is good.

iitdrohit: sir i give up a question of DI in between...in aim cat1009 i gave 15 min to a question then left it...
kranthi: do not spend so much time to decide that u cannot solve.try to be quick to judge which questions to leave.

nitin: sir is the DI material in AIMCAT's sufficient for the practice? or do i need some thing else too since i am not a regular time student. I am a working guy who has subscribed to the advanced test series..
sai: AIMCATs and Online tests are sufficient

kaza: this is not related to the topic sir i got 99.94 percentile on todays MAT how can i relate this to my CAT scores
kranthi: two different tests and different test takers.ur aim cats are more reliable indicators.any how u have done well in mat.congrats.

kk: SIR,DOES AIMCATS DI QUE' IS OF HIGHER LEVEL THAN ACTUAL CAT... BCOS OF LAST YEARS CAT PAPERS(DI SEC) I ABLE 2 CLEAR CUT OFF EVERY TIME BUT NOT A SINGLE TIME IN AIMCATS...
kranthi: some of the aimcats are difficult than some of the actual cat papers.

jyoti: whenever I do practise ,I get correct answers but when time comes in AIMCAT's I cant score properly.. plz suggest me something...
kk: Hv answered similar qn

bebo: KK sir i haven't got my answer.Should i edit my application or not
kk: Go ahead. No problem

ankcat: sir i never get questions on data sufficiency right. some people say it is very easy and scoring.,but whenever i have attempted i get them wrong. my scores also have lowered bcoz of attempting such ques.I have thought of not attempting such ques on the cat-day and even in my aimcats. is it right or should i give one more try.
kranthi: strengthen ur quant basics.ds problems are pretty slippery be circumspect and look for exception to the rule.

payal: Sir, how much time shud i spend studying for HR for TISS? And what all topics do i need to cover...its such a vast topic. Can u plz suggest some book...there are many in the market, so can u suggest some author, which will be useful for TISS PI too. They ask lot of Q's on HR and 70mks is for PI.
sai: CAT preparation is enough for TISS as the TISS paper is very easy

krish: sir, the last couple of aimcats have had rather tough DI sections. is this possible in the actual CAT 09 ?
sai: Very much possible

sanjog: sir when selection of sets is proper then I score good with good accuracy, but when in any particular test if I pick up wrong sets(for me.. i mean time consuming, confusing, etc).. then it takes time and finally ruins the DI/LR score... SO what shall I do to avoid such a mess.... and TO SELECT PROPER SETS .... ?????
kk: Select sets which you feel you are more familier with. Avoid sets which has too many concepts/unknown parameters to work around. After spending some 7-8 minutes on the set, you are still not making much headway, move on...

om: Hello Sir SORRY FOR A POST UNRELATED TO THE TOPIC. I have in fact applied to the fellowship programs along with core mba courses in cat. will the interview for fpm courses be taken simultaneously with that of mba or it will be taken seperately?? Please reply
sai: Generally after the PGP interviews

neha: is anyone there
kk: very much..

work: sir can i get an access to the test a day qsts? i am an aimcat basic series student... can we get it from the time office?
kk: No, that is available only to the enhanced AIM CAT package students

nix: sir are mgmnt quota seats available...? l it reduce our chances at sibm,tapmi,imt,mdi...etc...???! last time i gt 88 %ile 4 cat... N gettin 85-98 %ile 4 various AIMCATs....wat shld my xpectations n also d colleges 2 apply...? (i'm askin this cos i cant attend classs nymore-sorry)
kk: Are you looking for an easy way out? No easy pickings in good institutes. With 98 in AIm CATs, put in some solid work (on your own) over the next two months

ananth: IS 9.2 CGPA IS SUFFICIENT TO FACE THE P.I. WITH CONFIDENCE
kk: Had students with 5.8 into the IIMs

kumaresan: hi sir ....whether we sho;uld take di first or last sir
sai: depends on whether it is your strong section or not. If it is your strong section then you can take it last

anand: hello sir..i hardly get a chance to chat with experts.. pelase answer my qns Got some qns from VA.. i always skip RC thinking that it is not scorable.. is that a wrng decision..rather i spend more time on grammar adn other stuffs.. where i lose marks.. please guide me..
kk: Dropping RC is not recommended. In fact, if you can practice on RC on a dialy basis for the next two months, it could turn out to be your lifeline in CAT

dick: SIR IHAVE BEEN GETTINg 30-40 marks in di in aimcats is it enough to crack the cat
kk: Depends on the level of the paper. Last year, 30 marks was around 85+

sourabhrai: Just let me know what all booklets from time material i should do and the order in which i shuld do for di?
kk: Hv answered similar qn

ansh: sir ihave worked on contract basis for one year in a core electronics company and then ihave been made regular employee now will the management institutes consider my contract basis under work experience
kk: As long as it is full time and paid, it is OK

bebo: IS ARUN SHARMA-QUANT A GOOD OPTION FOR REVISION?
sai: Trishna is a better option

sohini04: sorry off topic question. Sir how is the colg BIMM, Pune?
sai: Average. Not so good

ansh: in DI set is it worth solving the questions twice.
sai: Please rephrase the Qs. Unable to understand the meaning

anand: sir howz Great lakes.. compare Great lakes , BIM , LIBA
kk: BIM, Great Lakes and LIBA in that order

sanjog: Sir In XAT how many questions are there for DI/LR...?? I have heard that the level of DI/LR of XAT is even higher than that of CAT ... is it so ..?? if yes then how to clear cut off... any other type questions in the same sections there to help.... ??????
sai: Please check the analysis of XAT on www.time4education.com

ananth: WHAT ARE THE ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENTS DID IIMs EXPECT FROM THEIR APPLICANTS & ARE THEY LOOKING FOR ANY OTHER EXTRA CURRICULAR AND CO CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES FROM THE STUDENTS OR THEY JUST LOOK AT HOW EFFICIENT THE STUDENT IS? ON GETTING INTO THE IIMS??? FOR ENGINEERING GRADUATES IS IT POSSIBLE TO ENTER IIM WITH 3 PAPERS PRESENTED AND ONLY ONE PROJECT DONE DURING HIS CURRICULUM????????
kk: IIM C does not look at either work exp or accads for giving calls. IIM A did not consider work exp and degree marks for giving calls last year. Focus on CAT prep. With a good CAT score, everything will fall into place

ananth: WHAT IS tpbs crts???
kranthi: test paper booklets and cat replica tests these are given to all our regular students.

ansh: sir, imean during analysis is it worth solving sets that ihave solved in exam within time limit and without time limit next.as im average at DI
sai: Solve all Qs and this will lead to your learning

jyoti: if I score less in di or in one section..then will I b able to get admission
kranthi: u are supposed to show ur competence in all sections.

kk: SIR,I AM A PASS OUT OF 2008(ENG).....SINCE THEN I DONT HAVE ANY WORK EX.....I AM PREPARING FOR CAT........STILL IS IT POSSIBLE TO GO TO IIM-A or any other iim..........................and if i got calls from iim what can i say to them wat i was doin after 2008 and y no comp......is it fair enough to be thruthfull i.e i was preparing or shul i prepare 4 any extra activities?
kk: yah u shul go on...

vaibhav: What can be the two month strategy to crack DI?
kk: hav answered similar qn. plz check

nix: Sir,last time i gt 88 %ile 4 cat... N m gettin 85-98 %ile 4 various AIMCATs this time....wat shld my xpectations n also d colleges 2 apply...? (i'm askin this cos i cant attend classs nymore as i ve joined infosys last week)
kk: Come on, have answered yr qn.

sayan39: sir i am getting consistently 98 pctile in last 4-5 mocks..sectional maths (96-98) di(92-96)..english(84-92)...what are my chances of getting calls and with this marks which calls can i expect..pls reply
kk: You seem to be on the rigtht path to getting calls from the best of B schools. Keep going..

?: i feel lrdi requires a gr8 deal of patience and concentration(since assumptions are the core part for good no.of lrdi questions). do u think this section should be solved last and/but allotted more time?
sai: Follow the 40-40-40 + 15 min buffer strategy and you will do well.

?: this one hr chat wid thousands is so useless
