wall: I m failing to covert my practice into good scores in mock cats.I m getting a feeling that cat is lot about ability one already possesses like fast calculations, good retention power,and verbal skills developed right from school days.i got arnd 92 percentile in 3 aimcats and I m failing to scale up. Suggest a way forward.
kranthi: it is all about HONING your skills to some extent and developing new skills.persevere and there are many people who had far worse aimcat scores than y ou do and could finally make it.


mohit: wat's the best sectio to start with in cat, if someone is reasonably good a verbal
kranthi: start with your strongest weakest in the middle .


wall: How much role does analysis of papers play in cat preparation. Should one give more priority to analysis than solving new problems in the next 3 months?
kranthi: analysis helps you to avoid repetition of same mistakes.


cat aspirant: hello sir...i am getting 96 percentile in the online aimcat??now is that good???
kranthi: yes.But do not rest on laurels strive constantly for improvement.


secret: Happy evening to allWhat is the minimum no of questions to be attempted.. to clear cut off irrespective of the no of questions..in the case of getting all right
kranthi: not less than 25 percent of the total it may fluctuate around this depending on the difficulty level of the paper.


chinna: sir .i have got 60.4 percentile in 1018..i have started my preparation just now...can i hope of getting in to iim
kranthi: You can but hope alone will not take you there.Look at at least five AIMCAT scores before u make any assesment.


ankit: sir,my accuracy is not good in verbal. particularly in grammar and para jumble type question.how to improve this?
kranthi: strengthen ur understanding of basic rules of grammar and try solving the para jumbles while u are practising at home without looking at the choices.Read the explanations given.


secret: How long should we practice daily to crack cat and make into IIMs.. and is it necessary to cover all sections in the daily prep..
kranthi: no fixed time but 3hrs every day is mandatory.cover all sections in the course of a Week.


ss: sir, when i am solving previous years mock cat questions i am able to score good marks in 2.30 hrs. but when i am appearing in the centres my score decreases how can i improve this???
kranthi: Looks like negative stress in exam hall.Follow relaxation techniques to develop more positive frame of mind.


sowbi: sould i concentrate more from quqnt or for dids&logic or verbal by that i can secure gud score .
kranthi: Put equal effort in all areas with more focus on areas u are weak.


ss: sir what min percentile score should one have in the mocks to get into IIM'S
kranthi: try to keep the average over 90.


floyd: I am a working processional and gets very tensed due to my office timing.How much time should i put through to crack some good colleges. Thanks in advance
kranthi: Not less tha 2 hours every day.


secret: I hold a B.E degree now..passed out.. yet to get my DOJ from my company.. waiting though..mean time..striving hard 2 crack cat .. what are my chances.. if i get a call , what should i say in the case of not being called till i go for the interview
kranthi: Tell the truth.No option.You can improve your chances by working hard.

kranthi: NO not neccesary.AMUL NDDB ITC are some of the companies which visit campus.

kranthi: strive hard to clear the cutoff in quant and compensate by maximising ur verbal score.

kranthi: Visit the nearest T.I.M.E. office and collect the details.

rohan: I am in my 4th year B.E.I am fine with my preparation in Quant,Verbal & DI,but due to paucity of time I dont think I can do much in Reasoning.Can you tell me which selected topics should I study from CAT & CET point of view.
kranthi: solve the basic study material booklet on reasoning and aimcat questions.


secret: Will international offers be offered to only work exp guys or wat?
kranthi: NOt neccesarry.


abhishek: Sir,i commit lot of calculation mistakes in quant.How should i reduce them?
kranthi: Do the rough work neatly.Cross check your calculations on a random basis .


secret: I also have an idea of having a startup.. Will there b any value in my interview in the above case.. ?
kranthi: Mere ideas wont help u have to back them up with deeds.


ankitjain: Sir i know the probability of getting into IIM's is probably 1 in every 200students....so besides giving my Cat can i give my GMAT also...because i 've heard that English is the main focus there.
kranthi: You can try both options.


vivek: Hi, What should be an Ideal time by which one should be finished with the basics ?
kranthi: august end.


secret: what if the case I start my co after writing cat..and what should i tell them 2 convince them
kranthi: The truth with CONVICTION.


satyaki: I am doing my B.Tech final year. I never seem to have enough time for the latter sections, whatever they maybe. Should I try to solve as many questions as I can or should I keep a target of x no. of questions to attempt.
kranthi: The time allocation is in YOUR hands.predecide time limits and STICK to them .

kranthi: NO.


junoon: as i told i m not good in va in which sec of va i can score more easily than others?
kranthi: There are easy questions and difficult questions not easy sections and difficult sections.


satyaki: Sir/Madam, in the case where there are variable marking as in CAT 1017, what should be my strategy?
kranthi: Whatever be the marking system Easier questions first.


saransh123: how much time should i give to each section during exam?
kranthi: 45 minutes each with fifteen minute buffer.


vivek: I'm very weak in error finding in English grammar section.How should I go about it ?
kranthi: strengthen ur knowledge of rules of grammar and practice a lot and read the explanation given.


krish: what additional preparation should be made for the social awareness section in IRMA
kranthi: read YOJANA KURUKSHETRA magazines.The geography section from 8 9 10 NCERT school books.


secret: how to select the easier qns?
kranthi: if u can get an idea about the questions within a couple of readings it is a easy question.


ankit: 4 months enoughg for cat preparation....
kranthi: yes with 6 hours of prep time every day.


debapriya: Sir i generally attempt a larger percentage of questions and correspondingly my negetive score is also higher...with this i kind of a strategy i had secured 99 percentile in cat08... Is it advisable to take this risk or should i concetrate in cutting down my attempts?
kranthi: try different strategies in aimcats and stick to the one which gives maximum results.
