phani bhushan:
Is there any chance to increase the number of AIMCATs
sunil:
dear phani, there are a total of 23 AIMCATs, i.e., four more AIMCATs to go with just under a month remaining. That is defintely sufficient, if you do analyse the AIMCATs properly...
|
|
sarayu:
hi... my aimcat scores r in the range of 70-75...plz tell me 2 what level do i go to get into a decent mba coll
pranav:
with these scores, you can get into a decent college. however you should take care that you dont apply to only the top colleges; select a good mix of colleges
|
|
perfectionist:
what shud be the prep strategy in this last month?
sunil:
brush up all your basics, and then move on to analyse all your AIMCAT papers thoroughly. Take only one or two comprehensive practice tests per week, other than your AIMCATs. you could also work on a few sectional tests every week.

alok:

pranav:
there is a decent chance of making it to the iims' try to analyse your performance and see why your scores are varying so much

shalini:
Hi sir, my %ile is hovering around 60. i have completed my
basic material and now i am desperate to attempt and
analyse as many new mocks as possible ,but i have some
11-12 mocks that i have only given and not analysed.
So in the last month i should -
A) Practice and thoroughly analyse as many new mocks(around 20) as possible since i have just completed my syllabus.
or
B) Analyse pending mocks and then attempt few new mocks(around 10).
pranav:
do not focus only on giving mocks; analysis of your performance and learning from it is as much important as giving the mocks.

plsreply:
sir,i finished my basics just now.. i am planning to take one test of the aimcats each day in the month of nov.. is it enough or should i do more... i have ample time to work out all ur suggestions
sunil:
One test a day is a bit too high... focus on quality/analsysis/learning rather than on quantity. One test every two days should also be fine...

|
adty21:
sir
i never clear the va sec but overall tile is 80-95
what can i do
pranav:
talk to a english faculty and try to see how you can improve on your grammar and/or RC skills
|
|
avj:
Regarding the ratings posted on your website is it hard and fast that all colleges in AAA are better in all respects than AA and A?
sunil:
Dear Avj, the answer to your question is a clear NO. The overall ratings are of course a composite/weighted average of individual ratings...

kishan:
sir, after giving the aimcats i have realised that when i am starting with my strongest section qa my weekest section VA is getting hampered..and when i am starting with VA lot of time has been taken and as a result i can't do well on the other parts..what shall i do?
sunil:
kishan, be disciplined in terms of time spent on each section.
|
|
vivj:
dear sir what exactly we have to do in analysis of aimcats
sunil:
dear vivj, when you analyse an AIMCAT, first try to solve all the unattempted questions, preferably with some time limit. Then, check your answers and look into the solutions for each question. Focus specially on those questions that you found difficult or could not solve. Even for those questions that you solved correctly you should try to check for alternative solutions if given.

sir i am constantly clearing cut off in english.. still i want to improve my eng marks... suggest me ways to improve...in the last month...
sunil:
take all your previous AIMCATS and then identify all questions of a certain type and solve them thoroughly and analyse them in detail. repeat this process for different types of questions, especially for those types that you need to improve in... also take some sectional practice tests in VA
|
|
prashant:
in va sumtimes i can clear the cutoffs easily but there r times they are missed by 4to5 marks. should i consider it as a strong subject??
sunil:
it looks like VA is neither your weakness nor your strength!

perfectionist:
sir whichever section i do at the end in the aimcat i score the lowest in that.how shud i cope up with this?

|
|
prashant:
i hav cleared quant cutoffs but want to maximise my score plz suggest a strategy?
sunil:
scroll though sets of three or four questions first and only then decide on which of them u should be attempting... leave the rest for review, time permitting. thihs will help u maximise your marks. Same applies for DI sectio also, but here you need to choose between sets of questions.
|
|
avj:

mvn:
Which one is better in quality of questions of DI-TPBs or Online Sectional Tests?
sunil:
Online sectional tests...
|
|
plsreply:
whats the test taking strategy.. should i start with the strongest section or should i start with anything particular
pranav:
there is no "best" strategy. However you can try starting with your strongest section, as it can improve your confidence for the rest of the exam. However do not take too much time for this section.
