Arkss: Yes, you should apply to IMT and IMI. However there is a chance that IMT ghaziabad takes sectional cutoffs at 70%ile. But do apply.

Arkss: With DI 43, you may get less than 95%ile in that section and hence may miss out on one or two IIMs. Others would be almost guaranteed and your percentile would be upwards of99.9.

Arkss: With 94 you can get around the 97.5 percentile range. MDI and NITIE look certain but with the IIMs it is touch and go.

Sai: Your expected percentile should be in the range of 60-65. Look at applying to 1-2 colleges in the B+ category and about 4-5 in the B category.

Sai: You ahve very good chances of getting 1-2 calls probably from B/L/I/K. A and C might have a higher overall cutoff than your total score.

Arkss: DI 32 may get you into trouble. You may have less than 85%ile in that. You may apply to any other institutes under CAT and get the calls.

Sai: 80 should correspond to around 92-94 %ile. If you have around 2 years of workex then certainly a call from SPJain is possible.

Sai: IIM chances look bleak. Good chances at NITIE and MDI-BM. excellent chances for MDI-HR

varidh: Sir I am getting 24 in VA , 29 in Quant and 47 in DI. Overall 100 (as per TIME key). Also I am having 2 years Experience. From how many IIMs shall I expect a call. Also how much variation do u expect in VA marks as in ur key and IIM key ( based on last year)
Sai: You should be lokking at around 2-3 calls. The variation, if any should be much lesser than last year. Remember, the IIMs do not have to justify any key they release however the ambiguities this year are far lesser. Start preparing for GDPi immediately!

yogesh: I am not able to understand that how marks am I getting in CAT2007,because diffrent institutes are giving diffrent answer's key.If I consider TIME's key then my marks are QA-17,DI-6,VA-6. If PP's key then QA-17,DI-11,VA-16. If IMS's key then QA-17,DI-6,VA-11. Now I am totally confused.In which college should apply? Thanks.
Arkss: First there is no problem with TIME Key. AS for the totals that you are getting, it is around 29. That would be less than 50%ile. I suggest that you look for other exams or take up a JOB and prepare for CAT seriously next time. It is important that you do an MBA from a Good college and hence do not join any college that comes your way.

Arkss: Yes DI is close to 90%ile. It depends on which way it falls that will tell you where you will get the calls from. Keep your fingers crossed. But start preparing for GD and Interviews as well as other exams.

rajat: my sores are...qa 25, va 37, di 38...total 100....just 3.5 month work-ex so far.....74% in engg.....over 90% in 10th and 12th standards....can I expect some calls at least from the smaller IIMs ??

Sai: You can possibly look at 1-2 calls but your VA looks to be a borderline case. Anyways hope for the best. Also look at applying to IMT-Ghaziabad and IMI-New DElhi. If you have 2+ years of workex then also look at ISB and Great Lakes.

Arkss: What is important for SNAP and such other exams is not preparation any more but SPEED in the exam. Write the mocks and ensure that you have the right strategy for speed.

Sai: You have a good chance of 1-2 calls. The kind of data that you are looking for is unfortunately not available with anyone. I guess your score should be good enough to get a call. The ratio will be around 2:1 at the IIMs and much higher - 6:1-10:1 at other top B-Schools

Sai: Expect a call certainly. Apply to as many colleges as possible in the Top10 and A+ category. Apply to 2-3 colleges in A category as a safety measure.

Arkss: you should get above 90 percentile. TAPMI, BIM, MICA, KJ Somaiyya, LBSIM, FORE would be some good insitutes at 90%+ range

Sai: You are looking at around 75 %ile with this score. KJS looks very unlikely but chances of Welingkar are moderate.

tiger: Sir I am getting 28 in quants section.....What was the cut off pecentile for PGDCM program last year and is 28 enough to clear the PGDCM cut off? I am getting 50 and 36 in DI and VA respectively..
Arkss: the PGDCM and PGDM programs have the same cutoffs. Slightly less chances. But i would prefer I am wrong and you get it.

kris: i am not challenging TIME cuttoff's or analysis..but don't you think TIME predicted cuttoff's are less compared to cuttoff's predicted other by institutes..can you let me know how much accuracy does TIME has in this arena..
Sai: Bang on target for the last 'N' years that you can think of. The cutoffs note on www.time4education.com should clear your doubts regarding this.

Arkss: 32 in DI? That would be really bad and possible to get a percentile below 85 in DI. IIM calls? I would not want to say it but less likely. You should get calls from every other insti.

Arkss: With 70 you would get more than 85 percentile. Apply to instis that take around that percentile.

Sai: Looks good enough for all 6 calls!! Stop worrying about individual IIMs and start preparing for the GDPI stage. 41 in DI might be around 92-94 %ile and if IIMA goes with the cutoffs of last year i.e 95.3 then you might not make it at A. However keep your fingers crossed!

Arkss: MDI sure, if VA is 23, then you have very good chances

Sai: With 114 you should get 98-99%ile. Except for MDI, NITIE, SPJain you have great chances at all other institutes.

Arkss: This year too, I am afraid you may fall in the 97%ile bracket. Extremely sorry to hear this.

Sai: your percentile should be around 85-88. you can possibly apply to 4-5 b-schools from the b+ category and 1-2 from a category. Some names could be fore, ubs, welingkars, etc.

Arkss: Overall would be 98. And chances for all three are decent.

Arkss: Good scores. but VA is a problem. Touch and go. You should get 98 percentile or thereabouts. SPJAIN very high chances. SO are they in MDI (if you applied).

Sai: 54 marks should fetch a percentile of 75-80. Look at applying to b-schools in the B/B+ category.

viraj: also in the stock market questions there's no data regarding the situation when the stock markets remain stationary that is they neither go up or down.. in that case the ansewrs would be 0.1% and 100% in option A. kindly discuss this with your research team and update answer key if you deem fit. i have mailed to time people but without response. thank you

Hurricane: Sir, What if there are not enough candidates with a score of above 25 in VA, would IIMA still stick on to its strict cutoffs.
Sai: Please remember IIMA needs only 600-700 people above 25 in each section. And in all likelihood, it will get the desired number considering over 2 lacs aspirants have written CAT.

Sai: With such scores, you can't hope of getting into any good b-school. So, its better to prepare again for the next year. Yes, any full time, [paid work experience is counted. So, best of luck!

Arkss: Hey, with 94 you will get almost all colleges that you have applied for except the IIMs. I expect that you should get MDI also. IMI is good, apply.

Sai: With a total of 115, you should be getting 3-4 calls. QA could be a small issue but in all likelihood you should clear that also. Start preparing for GDPI immediately.

Sai: With a total of 107, you should get 2-3 calls. VA is on the lesser side but you could still make it. Good luck!

Arkss: hey kris, 32 in DI is really dicey can get around the 85%ile mark. NITIE and SP should be best bets. Please apply to IMT. We can take the decision of writing CAT again later. your overall will be close to 98.

Arkss: 89 may not get your MDI PGDM but HR looks possible. Other institutes almost sure.
