WBJEM West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE) - WBJEM is conducted by West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board (WBJEEB) for admission to various professional courses in various fields of Engineering /Architecture/ Technology / Medical / Dental and Pharmacy in various Universities/Colleges in West Bengal.A large number of candidates from across the state of West Bengal appear for WBJEE every year for admission in these courses. Eligibility criteria: A candidate should have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with an aggregate of atleast 50% in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics (for BE/ B.Tech/ B.Arch/ Pharmacy) and Physics, Chemistry & Biology (for Medical/ Dental/ Pharmacy) and a pass in English & 5th subject (eg:vernacular). Also a candidate should have attained the age of 17 years before 31st December, 2010. Only West Bengal candidates can apply for WB JEE. Pattern of WBJEM: In WBJEM three different papers are conducted in a day:
Paper 1:Mathematics(80 MCQs + 20 Short answer type) Candidates who want to apply for Engineering and Architecture courses have to appear for Paper 1 & 2. Candidates who want to apply for Medical & Dental Courses have to appear for Paper 2 & 3. Candidates who want to apply for Pharmacy courses have to appear for Paper 2 and either Paper 1 or Paper 3. Candidates who want to apply for all the courses can appear for all the three papers. Mathematics paper (100marks) - 9.30 a.m. to 11.30 a.m. Physics & Chemistry paper (P- 50 marks & C-50 marks) - 12.30 p.m. to 2.30 p.m. Biology paper (100 marks) - 3.30 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. There will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ-type, with four options including single correct answer) carrying 80% weightage of the total marks and remaining 20% will be of short answer type. In MCQ type, for each incorrect response, 33.33% of mark would be deducted. Date of JEM 2010: 18th April 2010(Sunday)
