EAMCET
A Common Entrance Test designated as “Engineering, Agricultural & Medical Common
Entrance Test” (EAMCET) is conducted by JNT University(Jawaharlal Nehru Technological
University) Hyderabad for admission into the First Year of Professional degree courses
mentioned below, on behalf of Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher education (APSCHE).
Engineering: B.E/B.Tech./B.Tech.(Ag.Engg.)/B.Tech.(DiaryTechnology)/B.Tech.(FST)/B.Sc.(CA&BM)(MPC)/B.Pharm(MPC)/Pharm-D(MPC).
Medical:
A) B.Sc.(Ag.) / B.Sc.(Hort.) / B.V.Sc. & AH / B.F.Sc. / B.Tech. (FST) / B.Sc.(CA&BM)
B) MBBS / BDS / BAMS / BHMS / BNYS C) B.Pharm / B.Tech.(Bio-Technology) (Bi.P.C.)
D) Pharm-D (Bi.P.C)
Eligibility Criteria:

Candidate should be of Indian origin and EAMCET is only open for the candidates
belonging to Andhra Pradesh.

A candidate should have cleared class 12th exams with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics
for engineering courses and Physics, Chemistry and Biology for medical courses

For B.V.Sc. & A.H. / B.Sc. (Ag) / B.Sc. (Hort) / B.F.Sc. / B.Tech. (FS&T)
/ B.Sc. (CA&BM) courses.

Candidates should have passed or appeared for the final year of intermediate examination
(10+2 pattern) or any examination recognized as equivalent thereto by
the Board of Intermediate Education, A.P., with any two / three of the subjects
indicated against each course noted below :

Note: Irrespective of the subjects taken at the qualifying
examination, candidates seeking admission to the above courses should appear for
Biology, Physics and Chemistry in EAMCET -2010. (AM Category)

For engineering & Pharmacy courses candidates should be atleast 16 years of
age. For other courses candidates should be between 17-22 years of age on 31st December
on the year of admission.

For MBBS/BDS/BAMS/BHMS/BNYS Courses candidates should complete 17years of age as
on 31st December of the year of admission. There is no upper age limit.

For For Pharm-D (B.P.C.)Course the candidates should have completed 17 years of
age as on 31st December of the year of admission to the above course.
EAMCET Pattern:
The exams consist of a single paper conducted for a duration of 3 hours. There will
be 160 Multiple Choice Questions with four options given (out of which only one
is the correct answer). Each correct response is given one mark and there is NO
negative marking.
Engineering - Single Paper in the forenoon consisting of questions
from Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry
Mathematics : 80 questions; Physics : 40 questions; Chemistry : 40 questions
Medical - Single Paper in the afternoon consisting of questions from
Biology, Physics and Chemistry
Biology : 80 questions; Physics : 40 questions; Chemistry : 40 questions

QUALIFYING MARKS FOR EAMCET
The qualifying percentage of marks in the Entrance Test is 25% i.e. 40 out of a
total 160. However, for candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes,
no minimum qualifying mark is prescribed. But their admission will be limited to
the extent of seats reserved for such categories (vide G.O.Ms. No. 179, LEN&TE,
dated 16.06.1986).
