Indraprastha University was established by Govt., of NCT of Delhi under the provisions
of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University Act, 1998.
B.Tech programme
is offered in the following areas. – Information Technology, Computer Science &
Engg., Electronics & Communication Engg., Mechanical & Automation, Power,
Electrical & Electronics Engg., Civil, Instrumentation and Control, Tool Engg.
& Environmental Engg.
Also M.Tech dual degree is available in Chemical Engg., Information Technology,
Computer Science & Engg. and Bio-Technology.
Eligibility: Aggregate 55% marks
in 12th Std PCM with pass
in each subject separately. Also a pass in English as elective / core / functional
in qualifying exam is compulsory.
For dual M.Tech program in Bio-Technology, eligibility is aggregate 55% marks in
PCB with separate pass and pass in English.
Age: Maximum age allowed is not more than 21 years as on 1st August of the admission
year.

Examination centres are at Bangalore, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Delhi, Jaipur, Jalandhar,

Probable dates: for B.Tech except Bio-Tech last Sunday of May and in case
of Bio-Tech, it is 1st Sunday of June.
Allocation
of seats:
Admissions in institutions based within NCT of Delhi –
a) 85% of total intake reserved for candidates from Delhi region
b) 15% of total intake reserved for outside Delhi candidates.
Admissions in institutions based outside NCR of Delhi – based on All India basis
Seats available: The CET score is also used by 14 other engineering institutes
and colleges in Delhi for intaking candidates. 5040 seats including B.Tech, M.Tech
(dual) & Biotechnology and 120 seats in B.Arch

Pattern of CET 2010:
Stage I – 22nd May 2010 – 2 to 5 pm
Stage II – 13th June 2010 – 2 to 5 pm
Both the stages will have 200 MCQs in Physics(50), Chemistry(50), Botany(50) and
Zoology(50) with four options. Correct response will be awarded 3 marks and one
mark will be deducted for a wrong answer.
Only a qualified student of the Stage I will be allowed to appear in Stage II.
