The Govt of Maharashtra
conducts a Maharashtra Health-Technical Common Entrance Test (MHT-CET) for the admission
to
all Health Science Courses, Engineering and Pharmacy degree courses
in State
of Maharashtra.
Eligibility Criteria: Engineering / Technology Courses
Eligibility of Maharashtra State Candidate to appear MHT-CET and to get admission
-
Candidate should
be an Indian National
-
Should have passed/appeared
the HSC (Std.XII)Examination of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher
Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with subjects English, Physics,
Chemistry and Mathematics and secured minimum
50% marks i.e. not less than 150 marks out of 300 marks
(minimum
45%marks
i.e. not less than 135 marks out of 300 marks in case of candidates of Backward
class categories belonging only to Maharashtra State) in the subjects Physics, Chemistry
and Mathematics added together AND obtained a
non zero score at MHT-CET to
get a seat.

Apart from the
above stated eligibility criteria a candidate should score a minimum of 110 marks
in the MHT-CET in PCM put together to get a seat in Autonomous institutions.
Eligibility
of Outside Maharashtra State candidates
-
OMS candidates
are eligible to write MHT-CET but they are not allowed to participate in the
Centralized Admission Process (CAP) .

They can apply
for the admissions against the Institute Level seats as well as the vacant seats
existing after completion of CAP, ONLY in the Unaided Private Engineering Colleges/ Institutes. They are treated
under
OPEN/GENERAL category candidate in the entire admission process.

OMS candidates)

Candidate should
be an Indian National

Should have passed
the HSC (Std.XII) examination of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher
Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with subjects English, Physics,
Chemistry and Mathematics AND secured minimum 50% marks i.e. not less than 150 marks out of 300 marks (minimum
45% marks
i.e. not less than 135 marks out of 300 marks in case of candidates of Backward
class categories belonging only to Maharashtra State) in the subjects Physics, Chemistry
and Mathematics added together AND Candidate should have a valid
AIEEE Score for the year
The candidate
belonging to the following category is not required to appear for the MHT-CET /AIEEE
Foreign National/Foreign student/ PIO(persons of Indian Origin)/Children of Indian
workers in the Gulf countries/Children of NRI/ J & K Migrant candidates/ Government
of India nominees

Candidate should

The NRI candidates
are eligible to apply for admission against the
Institute level seats, only in Unaided Private
Engineering Colleges/Institutes.
Specialized
branches of Engineering: Additional Requirements

Candidates seeking
admission to
Biomedical/Bio-Tech Engineering course should have passed in the subject of Biology
in the qualifying examination in addition to the other eligibility conditions.

Female candidates
are not eligible for admission to Mining Engineering course.

For Admission
to Marine Engineering Course in Padm. Vasantdada Patil Pratishtan’s College of Engineering,
Sion, Mumbai the Candidate should directly contact the Principal of the college
for eligibility criteria.

Eligibility criteria - Candidates with Diploma in Engineering/Technology
-
Diploma holders
in Engineering/Technology with minimum of 50% marks and medium of instruction as
English from the Polytechnics affiliated to MSBTE or AICTE approved autonomous Polytechnics
in/outside Maharashtra State are considered eligible for admission to direct
second
year
of Degree courses in Engineering / Technology (Lateral entry).

Diploma candidates
are
not eligible to appear for the
MHT-CET .

Only Maharshrta
state candidates are eligible for admission through CAP and also in Govt./Govt.aided
/ Govt. aided University managed institutes / University Departments for any subsequent
institute level rounds.

Will get seats
in unaided private institutions only.
SCHEME OF
EXAMINATION
Schedule &
Test Design:
The MHT-CET will consist of three question papers of multiple choice type having
four options with one correct choice.
Each paper is of 100 marks.
Paper I :- Physics & Chemistry (50 questions each)
Paper II :- Biology (Botany & Zoology - 50 questions each)
Paper III:- Mathematics(50 questions)
Duration of each paper-90 minutes
No negative marking
Test will
be on a single day .
The candidate desirous of selection to Engineering degree courses should appear
for Paper I and Paper III.
Syllabus of Examination:Syllabi of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics
for the MHT-CET will be the same as for the current year for HSC Examination of
HSC Boards of Maharashtra.
Probable Date
of Examination: The examination will be conducted at various centres in
Maharashtra during the month of May .
Merit list
and merit number
Merit list of Maharashtra State Candidates will indicate a General State Merit No.,
State level Category Merit no.General Home University Merit No., Home University
Category Merit no etc. For OMS candidates a separate merit list will be prepared
based on the MHT-CET score. Each eligible Maharashtra State Candidate who has appeared
for
MHT-CET
and obtained a non zero score in MHT-CET for admission through
Centralized
Admission Process (CAP) will be assigned a provisional merit number.
Separate merit list and merit number will be provided for AIEEE qualified candidates.
Relative merit in case of a tie:
In the case of candidates securing equal number of marks in MHT-CET, their relative
merit will be fixed on the basis of the following order of preference:
(i) A candidate securing higher marks out of 100 in the subject of Mathematics
in MHT-CET.
(ii) A candidate securing higher marks out of 50 in the subject of Physics
in MHT-CET
(iii) A candidate passing the SSC (Std. X) examination with higher aggregate
marks out of 750.
(iv) A candidate securing higher marks out of 150 in the subject of Mathematics
at SSC (Std.X) Examination.
(v) Birth Date of the candidate -( preference to elder Candidate)
