Malviya National Institute of Technology, Jaipur
The Malviya National Institute of Technology, Jaipur is one of the Centre of
Excellence in the country established by the MHRD, Government of India. The
Institute formerly known as Malviya Regional Engineering College was
established in the year 1962, as a joint venture of the Government of India and
Government of Rajasthan.
In 1963, the college started functioning from its temporary campus at Pilani
and admitted 30 students each in Electical Engg. and Mechanical Engg. The
college moved to the present campus to Jaipur in 1965. The college was inspired
by the great educationist and freedom fighter Pt. Madan Mohan Malviya and thus
named as The Malviya Regional Engineering College
At present the institute offers B.Tech programs in the eight disciplines viz

Facilities
Central Library
The Institute has a spacious and well equipped library which is being run
according to an open access system. It has rich collection of about 1,33,600
volumes of books, periodicals, reports and reference material. In addition to
the books from main library, some more books are issued to students from book
bank also.
Entrepreneurship development Cell
Educating and training people for developing entrepreneurial capabilities
through positive training interventions is the core strategy of
Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC). EDC has been sponsored by Department
of Science and Technology, Govt. of India. It runs separate programs for
existing and potential investors.
Industry Institute Partnership Cell
IIP aims at developing close links between the industry and institute
through interaction programs. It mobilizes industrial personnel for the
programs, Identifies present day requirements of professionals, Disseminates
technical advances through informal education techniques, Training shop floor
personnel and bringing out publications with latest technological developments
etc.
The campus also provides indoor and outdoor facilities for various games. It
also has got a gymnasium, bank, canteen and guest house.
