NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY- PATNA
The National Institute Of Technology – Patna, developed by Ministry Of Human Resources And Development is aimed at imparting high training, research and development in the field of Engineering, Science and Technology. It is attached to the Patna University, for the purpose of conducting examinations and award of degrees.
LOCATION
NIT Patna is situated on the South bank of river Ganges behind Gandhi Ghat, one of the most important and sacred place of Patna . The Institute campus is 8 Km from the Patna junction railway station and is 20 Km from the Jai Prakash Narayan International Airport, Patna . The entry to the institute is from Ashok Rajpath and it is about 3 Km from the famous Gandhi Maidan.
CAMPUS
The Institute is residential in nature and provides residential facilities to all its students as well as teachers . NIT-Patna offers Post-Graduate and Under-Graduate programs . It is soon to get a deemed university status with the powers to frame its own academic policy, conduct examinations on its own and also to award its own degrees. As part of its campus recruitment program, several renowned companies like NTPC, BHEL,SAIL,BALCO,L&T,VSNL,CROMPTON GREAVES and many more recruit good number of students from the college.

Among the notable alumni include Mr.Nitish Kumar, Former union minister for railways under the NDA government and cuurently the chief minister of Bihar. Another eminent personality is Dr.Priya Prasad, a world-renowned biomechanics expert who has spent his past 30 years at Ford Motor Company, studying the human body and its response to physical forces in vehicle crashes.
