NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY – WARANGAL
National Institute Of Technology – Warangal , formerly known as Regional
Engineering College . REC – Warangal, was established in 1959, with the
recognition of being the first among the 17 RECs developed across the nation.
Location
The institute is located on two sides of the National highway 202 in the state
of Andhrapradesh. The nearest airport is Hyderabad, and both Kazipet and
Warangal are important Railway stations.
Programs Offered At NIT-Warangal
The Engineering Programs at NIT-Warangal, include undergraduate and
postgraduate programs in BioTechnology, Chemical, Civil, Computer Science,
Electrical & Electronics, Electronics and Communications, Mechanical, and
Metallurgical & Materials Engineering.
In addition to engineering programs, post graduate programs are also offered in
Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
Each department offer their own specialization programs in the masters level,
which are unique and varied. Even the pure science programs, covers and offers
so many specialization topics in the master’s level. The institute even runs a
masters program in Computer Application.
Admissions at NIT-Warangal
Like all other NITs, NIT-Warangal also admits students through All India
Engineering Entrance Examination conducted by CBSE for all its undergraduate
programs. For the post graduate programs, students are selected through the
Graduate Aptitude Test In Engineering (GATE). There are separate entrance tests
for their MBA,MCA and other MSc programs. Majority (almost 50%) of the students
are from the home state of Andhrapradesh and the rest from other states.

NIT-Warangal has a huge alumni network all over the world. Many of them hold

Computing Facility and Associate Professor of Computer Science at Virginia

NIT Warangal holds many technical and cultural events throughout the year.
Major annual event is Spring Spree. Students from all major colleges in Andhra
Pradesh and from outside the state present their creative, artistic talents in
these events.
