BOT (Bachelor of Occupational Therapy)


It's specialized graduate degree course in occupational therapy which is offered by various medical institutes. This programme prepares professional therapists who help people with mental or physical disabilities in achieving maximum functioning and independence at home and at the workplace. People affected by physical or mental injury, illness by ageing process,needs to develop special skills for performing normal acts so as to sustain themselves without being a burden on any other individual. The treatment is normally given in consultation with physicians, physical therapists and rehabilitation workers involved in patient care. Occupational therapists are also involved in technological project works in designing new equipments for treatment and standardizing existing therapeutic systems besides being educators and trainers.

2. National Institute for the Orthopaedically Handicapped, Bonhooghly, BT Road, Calcutta 700090.
3. Institute of Physically Handicapped, 4 Vishnu Digamber Marg, NewDelhi 110002.

Rehabilitation Council, 4 Vishnu Digamber Marg, NewDelhi 110002 is the body which conducts entrance exams to these institutes.

Eligibility

Age 17 years on the 1st October of the year of admission

Academic requirements

10+2/ICSE/Intermediate with Physics, Chemistry,Biology and English or any equivalent exam. Students taking qualifying exams are eligible subject to attaining 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
