JIPMER

JIPMER conducts ALL INDIA ENTRANCE examination for admission to medical courses. Only merit in the Entrance Examination is the criterion for selection to 46 seats (including 20 reserved for locals). Eleven seats are filled on merit from all India Test conducted by CBSE(AIPMT/PD).

Government of India nominees are selected by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, New Delhi according to set criterion.

Eligibility

Students who are Indian nationals, aged 17 years on or before 1st July and passed Higher Secondary Examination (+2) under 10+2+3 pattern with 50% marks in English and 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together are eligible to appear in the Entrance Examination.

Syllabus

It is based on the CBSE syllabus of 11th and 12th standard.

Exam Pattern 2007

The examination has 200 multiple choice questions with four alternatives, equally distributed among English-40, Botany-40, Zoology-40, Physics-40 and Chemistry-40. The evaluation is fully computerized and there is no negative marking.

No NRI Quota Seats

The Government has decided to increase the number of seats from 75 to 100 with effect from the academic year 2007-08 onwards JIPMER Entrance Examination is usually conducted on the second Sunday of June every year. The notification of entrance examination is published in all leading news papers and on the website in January/February every year.
