Data Interpretation

Data Interpretation is an area where students are presented with data in the form of tables, pie charts, bar graphs, Venn diagrams, geometrical diagrams, etc. Questions are given based on the data. Students are required to study the data presented and answer the questions based on the data. Data Interpretation is a "quantitative" area.
In most exams, there may not be a separate section for Data Interpretation but it is given as a part of another section - normally along with questions on Mathematics.

Reasoning

A variety of names like Analytical Reasoning, Logical Reasoning, Logical Ability, Reasoning, Mental Ability are used to refer to questions based on reasoning. The questions on Logic in entrance exams normally do not require a formal exposure to Logic. These are based on day-to-day, commonsense reasoning.

General Awareness

Many management entrance exams have General Awareness as a part of the paper. There are very few exams that do not have General Awareness in some form or the other. In this area, questions are asked on current issues and/or past issues. In some exams, General Awareness questions also cover economic related issues. It is to be noted that CAT has not been giving any questions in this area.
