  • All top management schools in the country have an exemplary track record of getting 100% placement with very good salaries and job roles. The B-Schools have also been quite successful in getting a number of their students placed in organizations that offer international postings. In fact, of late, the dollar salaries for these international placements range between USD 60,000 and USD 200,000 per annum.
  • The IIMs and other 'Top-notch' institutes claim an average placement salary of about INR 25 to 35 lakh per annum! The highest salary on offer for domestic placements can be as high as INR 60 lakh per annum!! The lowest salary on offer at these management institutes is about INR 12-15 lakh.
  • The average salary in the next level of management institutes is about INR 20 to 25 lakh per annum. The lowest salary on offer ranges between INR 8-10 lakh and highest domestic salary ranges between INR 30-40 lakh. And at the next level of management institutes the average salary on offer is around INR 15 to 20 lakh per annum.

This year saw exceptional placements across all premier B-schools.

The final placements for PGP-BA and PGP 2024 of the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore saw 516 eligible students accepting job offers from 163 firms. The placement week, which ended on February 7, 2024, saw 503 students placed, while 13 students were placed in a subsequent rolling placement process. A record 29 students have been placed abroad with Infosys Consulting (7), Strategy& Middle East (6), Jindal Shadeed (5), TransformationX (3), EY Parthenon Singapore (2), JP Morgan Chase London (2), Health City Cayman Islands (2), Fast Retailing, Japan (1) and Landmark Group, Middle East (1) while 487 students will be working in India. The median annual salary stands at Rs. 32.5 lakhs.

The Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIMC) has concluded the final placements for the 2022-24 batch of MBA programme with 464 students securing 529 offers. The highest CTC offered during the placements was ₹1.15 crore.

XLRI achieved the feat of securing 100 percent placements for the graduating class of 2022-24 across their Two-year PGDM (BM) and Two-year PGDM (HRM) programs. According to a press release by XLRI, all 503 students from XLRI Jamshedpur and XLRI Delhi NCR were placed in the recruitment process which had two phases. The initial phase, i.e. the Lateral Recruitment Process (LRP) saw students with work experience getting placed and the final phase, i.e. the Campus Recruitment Process (CRP) where candidates without work experience received job offer letters from recruiting firms.

These kinds of reports have been released by all the premier B-schools, which reaffirms the belief that MBA offers excellent placement opportunities.

B-schools across the country are seeing a tremendous run in the placement season this year. The year began with increased salaries/stipend seen during the final and summer placements. On the back of this, the summer placements have started on an extremely positive note.

The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad held its first cluster of summer placement for the postgraduate programme (PGP) class of 2024. About 60 firms participated in the first cluster of the summer placement at IIM Ahmedabad. The Boston Consulting Group, as per an IIM Ahmedabad statement, was the top recruiter with 28 offers, followed by Bain and Company with 23 offers. American Express, with nine offers, rolled out the maximum offers in the cards and financial advisory cohort, IIM Ahmedabad statement said. The institute witnessed a 50 per cent increase in the international offers in Cluster 1.

IIM Calcutta has completed its summer internship placement for the 59 th batch, comprising 470 students, by securing close to 540 offers. Consulting and finance accounted for nearly 59 per cent of the total hires.Students received an average monthly stipend of ₹1.59 lakh and median stipend of ₹1.5 lakh, with the top 25 per cent (in terms of stipend offered) receiving ₹2.24 lakh, according to a press statement from IIM-C.

The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Kozhikode successfully closed the summer internship recruitment drive with 100 percent placements for its two-year full time PGP programmes.

This season attracted participation from 122 recruiters which offered internships to 541 students with the highest stipend pegged at ₹6.47 lakhs. The mean and median stipend stands at ₹2.5 Lakhs, an increase of 25 per cent over last year.
