Excellent Performance of T.I.M.E. Students in GATE 2019
Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is a national level examination jointly conducted by the seven Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and IISc on behalf of National Coordination Board NCB-GATE, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India. IIT Madras is the organizing institute for GATE 2019.
The exam tests the comprehensive understanding of candidates in various undergraduate subjects in Engineering / Technology / Architecture and Post-Graduate level subjects in Science. The GATE score is used for admissions into Post-Graduate programs (M.E., M.Tech., direct Ph.D.) in Indian institutes of higher education with financial assistance provided by MHRD and other Government agencies. The score is also used by many Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) for recruitment. Also one can get admission for Ph.D. Research, admission for PGDIE course at NITIE Mumbai and Fellowship in management at IIMA, B, C
The results for GATE 2019 examination were declared on 15th March. Around 9 Lac. candidates registered for the examination.
The exam allowed candidates to appear from places such as Nepal, Singapore, Sri Lanka, United Arab Emirates (U.A.E), Bangladesh and Ethiopia GATE 2017 onwards. Examination of all these papers was conducted in multi-session mode. Hence for these papers, a suitable normalization is applied to take into account any variation in difficulty levels of question papers across sessions.
In GATE 2019, top ranks secured by T.I.M.E. students are AIR 6 IN*, AIR 9 CS, AIR 26 XE^ etc.
