Electronic Common Hotel Admission test

It is an acronym for International Institute of Hotel Management (IIHM) Electronic Common Hotel Admission Test. IIHM entrance exam is a national level computer based test to get admission in various hotel management programmes. After clearing IIHM eCHAT, candidates are further shortlisted for admissions on the basis of their performance in the group discussion and personal interview round.

The IIHM eCHAT is a unique online proctored Management Aptitude Test. It is a common admission test held for admission to various hotel management courses offered by IIHM campuses present in Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Jaipur, New Delhi, Pune, Goa, Samarkand, Bangkok.

eCHAT is an objective type of test with multiple-choice answers. It comprises Language Comprehension, Mathematical Skills, Data Analysis and Interpretation, Intelligence and Critical Reasoning, Awareness of Indian & Global Economy. There are 50 questions to be answered in 60 minutes.

The eligibility criteria are as follows:

  • Pass in Class 12 examination or its equivalent with English as one of the Subjects.
  • Those appearing in Class 10+2 or equivalent examination can also appear in E-CHAT 2022.
  • Upper age limit: 22 years as of 1st June 2022.

The selection process of IIHM ECHAT is based on two factors:

The test paper for IIHM contains many different types of questions in order to test the aptitude as well as skills of aspirants.

Some of the question formats in which candidates are tested in IIHM are as follows:

  1. Multiple choice
  2. True/False
  3. Text fill-in-the-blank
  4. Numeric fill-in-the-blank
  5. Multiple selection (Student can select multiple answers in such questions)
  6. Picture-click multiple choice

IIHM eCHAT exam pattern is such that it contains objective type multiple-choice questions. It will comprise of questions related to topics such as language comprehension, mathematical skills, data analysis and interpretation, intelligence and critical reasoning, awareness of Indian & Global Economy.

Candidates will have to attempt 50 questions in a given time duration of 60 minutes in IIHM entrance exam 2019.

Candidates will receive their IIHM eCHAT scorecard within 24 hours of them appearing for the entrance test.
