Analysis
of Business Situations
This section
generally has two Case Studies. Each case study is followed by 10 questions
which are to be answered based on the data given. Generally, the questions are
not straight forward, so one has to think carefully for answering these
questions. This section is given to evaluate the candidate's ability to
identify critically the data and apply the data to business decisions from
given typical business situations.
Reading
Comprehension
In the Reading
Comprehension section, usually there are two passages with each passage having
10 questions. Almost on the same lines as that of the ABS, here also one has to
go through the passages and answer the questions that follow. This section is
given to evaluate the skill of the candidate in answering questions based on
the passages in the comprehension.
Quantitative
Ability
In the
Quantitative Ability section, the basic understanding of arithmetic concepts
like numbers, ratios, percentages, time – work & rate, geometry and
mensuration along with permutations and combinations, probability, etc. is
tested. This section is given to evaluate the skill on solving mathematical
problems at graduate level (including those learnt in plus two or equivalent
level).
Data
Sufficiency
This section
in TANCET tests how good a candidate is at understanding the application of
various concepts of Mathematics and use of day - to - day facts.
English
Usage
This section
mainly focuses on English grammar including sentence correction, error
identification, etc. This section is given to test the knowledge on written
English with questions on errors in usage, grammar, punctuation and the like.
TANCET MBA
Exam is one of the entrance tests where the areas tested and the number of
questions per each test area almost remained the same but the difficulty lelvel
of the questions varied heavily from year to year. If we look at the last ten
years papers, in one or two instances there were more questions on ABS,
accordingly questions in other areas were decreased. This is the only case of
change in its pattern. Finally, we can conclude that TANCET is an examination
where you have to be ready for surprises.
