Will the test be conducted in an AC environment?

Will there be a provision for Rough work?
Each candidate will be provided with a writing pad with numbered pages for
calculations. The writing pad with all pages intact must be left at the desk,
after the test. Rough work cannot be done on any other paper /sheet as nothing
will be allowed to be taken into the exam hall.

What is the Plan B if things go wrong? Power failure
/ If there’s power failure or a software glitch?
We expect that the IIMs have backup plans for any type of contingency

What will happen if there is no internet connectivity at
the test centre?
CAT 2009 will be a Computer Based Test and will not require an internet
connection. So there will be no problem.

How will the IIMs ensure that there is no cheating?
The centres will be under electronic surveillance and manual invigilation to
ensure that there is no cheating

What is bio-metric monitoring? Do I need to do something
special for the same?

"Bio-metric" means identifying a person based on unique features like finger
print or iris scan.

The IIMs have not mentioned any details about their bio-metric monitoring
system but you can expect the details to be mentioned in the bulletin.

You cannot 'prepare' for this and there is no need to do so.

Will it cost more to give the exam?
The exam will cost Rs 1400 (Rs 700 for SC/ST candidates).

Will I be allowed any break during the test as is done in
GMAT?

There could be breaks in the exam between sections.

However, we cannot say if the students will be allowed to leave the exam hall
(e.g. go to the restroom) during the break.

When will the results be declared?
The results are expected to be declared by the end of January
2010.
