subhankar : IBS may be slightly better but then return on investment would not be that high for IBS so there came the second opinion of Pumba. So decide on your priorities.

cherian : marketing is one field that will always have opportunities. Finance is cyclical and will find limited opportunities in times of recession

charlton : I think you should try for better colleges than TAPMI. TAPMI used to be very good but since you have 3 yrs experience try for topnotch institutes under CAT and XAT. Also SIBM is far better than SIIB. So if your job is great, then prepare earnestly and get a great CAT or XAT score. On the other hand, if you feel that you want to do your MBA without wasting too much time, then join TAPMI. Also I hope your acads are great, so that with a great CAT score you will stand a good chance to get into a institute accepting CAT score. All the best.

viveknair : You can apply for ITM now and ask for refund later. Find out abt the penalty. Shouldnt be too much. Initial cash crunch might be there. ITM is a decent school. Arnd 6 lpa package for a good student. Whether it is a good choice for you depends on your other options

viveknair : It is not mandatory to do MBA within 2 yrs of work ex. If you can improve your percentile by arnd 10 points next yr, then it might be worthwhile trying next year.

cherian : Opt for systems. that will complement your work ex and analytics is the hot sector now. systems will help you go for analytics. ops is good but taking systems and ops as dual specialization may not be advisable for placements

charlton : Our B-School ranking is based on a number of factors like brand value of institutes, placement record, faculty, academic rigour, etc. BITS ranks in BB category because the others would be better in different criteria. Worry about the brand value of the Institute. There will always be loans from banks for your MBA education.

cherian : there is no specialization for analytics. systems would have subjects dealing with it. systems and ops is not a safe option because usually few ops profiles are available compared to other specializations. you can go for sys and marketing to be really safe
