arjun
:
there is no seperate minimum for mains right?
bhuvana
:
you qualify for jee adv only if you have a particular cut-off (min) and it was 113 for GE
|
|
rk
:
What Are the expected qualifying marks?
dileep
:
The qualifying marks were 113 for general, 70 for OBC last year. We are not expecting any major deviation in that. But, never aim for the qualifying marks. Aim high as these marks are not sufficient for a NIT admission. They will just make you eligible to write JEE Adv
|
|
sba
:
How much rank one in OBC should have for delhi nit?
bhuvana
:
we will be able to answer that slightly later - after the exam
|
|
malavika
:
is there any min pass mark to clear mains?

You can look for 120-125 marks to clear JEE Main - make you eligible for JEE Adv (General category). Keep in mind it is not sufficient for NIT Admission
|
|

will solving previous AIEEE papers help to a great extent? Given that the patterns and marking schemes vary from paper to paper?
bhuvana
:
yes it helps. for your info, pattern for aieee has not changed in many years
|
|
sranya
:
how to answer the questions selectively based on the difficulty level?
dileep
:
90 questions-180min. That is 2 min per question. But, all questions are not supposed to be answered. There will be many to left un-attempted. Select the easy and medium type in the beginning. Come back to the difficult ones later. Strike off the questions which you find difficult. This approach is extremely important for time management and reducing negative marking
|
|
vatsa
:
How many Qs can be guessed to manage risks?
dileep
:
We only recommend intelligent guessing - not the blind guessing. That means, after analysing a question, you will be able to sometime remove some options. Then you may choose between say two options. Please remember options will be set in such way to mislead you.
|
|
ponnu
:
gud eveng madam, how much time should we spend max to answer a Q?
dileep
:
On an average 2min per question is available. But you can spend upto 4min per problem oriented question. Hope you will be able solve theory oriented types in less than 1 min
|

:
how many % will be easy
bhuvana
:

|
|
karthik

how should we manage our time between different subjects??
bhuvana
:
3 hours - so 1 hr per subejct - spend 40 min on each to solve all known / easy qns. and then do one more round of solving lengthy qns.
|
|
muthukumar
:
how wud be the cut off be calculated(along with board marks) if i take one year drop and write it next year

|
|
arjun
:
i am ok with math and chem. any last min shortcuts to improve my physics?
dileep
:
Select the questions which are theory oriented, and from chapters you are very confident about. At the same time, never leave a question without properly reading them. Never go for any short-cut at this stage. revise concepts and formule which are important - mechanics, Electrostatics, Current-electricity etc. Should revise so that at least base level questions from most of the areas can be attempted. Never go for blind guess

dileep

Now the most important thing to manage the exam time of 3 hours. You should do all easy and medium type questions in the first round. Come back to the difficult types in the second round. Do not get stuck up with one or two problems. Leave a question if you find it difficult after starting to solve them. Do not try to learn anything new at this stage. Utilise the time to revise and re-inforce

Identify your class room for the exam and be seated early. Go through the instructions in the time before 10:00am. This will give you an idea about the paper. Never panic even if the initial questions are tough. Easy questions might be waiting for you later :)

sarath
:
can you please tell some motivating tips.... so that i dont get too nervous for the exam.....
dileep
:
Sarath, if you look at the cut off marks last year, it is just 113 out of 360. If you attempt 30 questions correctly out of 90, you will score 30x4 = 120 marks. That means you just need to attempt 1 out 3 to be eligible for JEE Adv!! It is all about your time management skills and your preparation that matters. No need to be panic. Having said that, never aim for 30 questions as it is not sufficient for NIT admission. 180-200 marks are required for a NIT admission - also depends on your state and board marks. 200 marks are also just more than 50% of total marks. You attempt the exam will confidence and positive mind set. You can surely do well
|
