thomas : look at the last few aimcats . all of them are pretty much the same level as last years cat paper.it could be that you are going with a mindset that the paper is difficult and is not able to adjust when an easy paper comes.dont have to bother about very difficult qns while revising.

charlton : Try and get all L.R. questions right. Solve parajumbles, Incorrect usage of word, f.i.b. if u can guess the meanings of words in the options and the context. Also rank the R.C.s as I, II and III based on difficulty level and solve the easiest one first. Other question types can also be done if u can approach them with full concentration and a cool mind.

sunil : the problem could possibly be in you not following a disciplined approach to your time management. You should leave time consuming difficult questions even if you have invested a few min already, so that you can maximise your number of attempts by attempting all the easy and doable questions in the section

vinnayraj : generally people score 4 to 5 percentile points more in cat than their average aimcat percentile.since you have been scoring consistently above 95 + percentile treat the last few scores as you must have had off days which happens to everyone.and also since fewer people have taken the past few aimcats your percentile has naturally gone down even though your rank would have remained the same..so there is no reason to lose hope.buck up and keep the momentum going and do well.dont let all the hard work be wasted just because you didnt perform in a couple of tests...and you also have a few days left to work on some mistakes in strategy or revise a few concepts to put things in order...

sunil : the cut offs are based on the level of the paper. And we cannot guess what the level of the actual CAT will be. depending on the level of the actual CAT the cut off may be as high as that in the CRTs and MCs or as low as the lowest of the AIMCATs.

sandeep : Your acads are very good and so in ur category if u cross 90%ile with at least 80 in both sections u can expect calls from some IIMs. Dont worry too much about ur AIMCAT scores as u cant do anything about it now. Just revise all the concepts and AIMCATs along with past CAT papers so that u gain some confidence for CAT. DI is critical for clearing the cut-off in 1st section and the same is true for LR in 2nd section so dont neglect them. All the best

charlton : Read the qs first and then attack the passage. Skim through the passage quickly. Scan the main lines again and again till u can eliminate wrong and half-correct options. So inference based qs can be tacked. There might also be (central idea, theme, title, tone, main purpose of author) qs, the answer for which may not be from a particular para but a comprehensive understanding of the whole passage may help u.

yoman : My average aimcat score (all 20) is 96 percentile. VALR is 98.5 percentile and QADI is only 88 percentile. 10th-93%, 12th-88.5%, Graduation (B.M.S-M.U.)-84%. Do you see any chance of I getting IIM A,B,C calls?

titanic : what could be ideal number of attempts in section-2?I can manage LR,VA to some extent,RC (my scores fluctuate) .Is it good to have larger attempts(26+)?
vinnayraj : more attempts are desirable if there are no random guesses and shooting in the dark.if you are able to definitively eliminate a couple of answer options and go for the more probable option,you can attempt more..

ankita : My percentile scores in all the AIMCATS are very varried , in the last few aimcats i have been gettin in early 80's. How much percentile can i predict from the aimcat scores? can i go above 90 or 95?

yug : i have a little weak communication skill and i regularly try to improve it . is their any chance of converting call of itm nagpur, bimtech and iifm bhopal. i get avg 70percentile in aimcat
sandeep : Yes u can convert these calls as only comm skills is not the only evaluation criteria in GD/PI. so work on general que of PI and improve ur content (GK). All the best
