The best preparation is to refer to the dictionary for five simple, common words everyday. This way you can cover 100 words in 20 days. 150 a month. Interestingly, you will discover that these small, common words have the biggest entries in the dictionary: well that is why they are so important.

Is it because your concepts are fuzzy or is it because the stress gets to you or is it because you take some time to apply the concepts you know? Also, how efficient or inefficient are you at reading and comprehension? The best you can do is meet a faculty member and discuss your case in detail. And yes, I wouldn't have said 'practice' anyway. I would have advised you to 'practise'!

One method is to repeat the words as many times as possible during the period immediately after learning them. I read about a research which said that if one repeats a word 10 to 15 times, it will never be forgotten. So, repeat by using it general conversations, by writing the word in sentences, by conducting self-memory-tests, by making flash cards of your own. Tip Six: Take the help of Vocabulary development books. There are quite a few vocabulary books in the market. The ones that I recommend are: STUDENTS’ COMPANION by Wilfred D Best or RUPA’S ENGLISH MANUAL by Rupa publications (for those who believe they need to begin at the basics); WORD POWER MADE EASY by Norman Lewis (for those who believe vocabulary is boring and also for those who believe they past the basic stage); ALL ABOUT WORDS by Maxwell Nurnberg, Morris Rosenblum (there are many more books by these two authors) and INSTANT VOCABULARY by Ida Ehrlich (for a very systematic approach to the learning of words). Tip Seven: Play Vocabulary Development Games: Yes, games do help. Browse the net for the games, select the ones that suit your level and enjoy learning words like never before.

While reading the information given pay attention on minute details rather than trying to solve it from the word go. Proper arrangement of information is another important aspect that helps you in reducing the time spent in solving and improving accuracy.

anuragsharma : It depends how you defend yourself in the interview but as far as the first round is concern it purely depends on Written test.

afif : hw solve logical reasoning questions faster??
govindrajan : No two puzzles are the same. Each puzzle has a different combination of clues and there are no formulae. Do not be in a hurry while reading the information, if do not spend sufficient time in understanding the given clues you will only end up spending more time. It may appear that you are going slow initially. But take some time in finding with which particular clue you should start your solution and what is the sequence in which you need to take up the clues. Start with all positive information. Once you exhaust the positive information look at the negative information. In most of the cases you get the necessary clue for cracking the puzzle in negative information. Positive information are statements like "Ravi likes orange", while negative statements are " Ravi does not like orange".

satyaprakash : Finish solving all the passages from the books that we have provided. Whenever you read any article, try to figure out what would have prompted the author to write it, what is the author trying to achieve by means of it and what is the overall tone. Also, for para jumbles, try to understand the idea flow. Practise the above diligently and you will be able to think like the author which in turn will help you tackle R.C. and para jumbles easily.
