MAH MCA CET is the entrance examination conducted to secure admission to the AICTE approved three year masters degree, MCA course, in the State of Maharashtra .It is conducted by the Competent Authority appointed by the Government of Maharashtra The admissions are done through a Centralised Admission Procedure (CAP).
The institutes, which qualify for the admission process as per these rules, are
approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi.
recognized by the Government of Maharashtra.
Affiliated to any one of the Non Agricultural Universities in the Maharashtra State. Following are the types of Institutes in the Maharashtra State covered under these rules:
a) All Government Institutes offering MCA course
b) All Government Aided Institutes offering MCA Course
c) All University Departments offering MCA course
d) University Managed Institutes offering MCA course
e) All Un-Aided MCA Institutes working under various associations who have given consent to participate in the CAP rounds conducted by the State Government.
Eligibility Criteria
1. Eligibility for appearing for CET:
The candidate should fulfill the following eligibility criteria:
Passed with minimum of 50% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA ( 45% in case of candidates of backward class categories and Persons with Disability belonging to Maharashtra State only) in any Bachelor s degree and having studied Mathematics or Statistics as one of the subjects at 10+2 level or higher level examination.
OR
Appeared for the final year examination of any Bachelor s degree in any discipline and having studied Mathematics or Statistics as one of the subjects at 10+2 level or higher level examination. Such candidates can be considered for provisional admission subject to passing the Degree exam with minimum of 50% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA (45% in case of candidates of backward class categories and Persons with Disability belonging to Maharashtra State only).
Note:
1. The candidates who have passed Bachelor of Computer Application (BCA), Bachelor of Computer Science (BCS), Bachelor of Science (Computer/Information Technology) degree courses are not required to fulfill the requirement of having studied Mathematics or Statistics as one of the subjects at 10+2 level or higher level examination.
Candidates need to purchase application kits from designated post offices/ bank branches by paying the fee.The application kit is different from the information brochure. MAH-MCA-CET Kit contains the Application ID, Password, important instructions for the submission of online application form. Candidates have to fill the on-line application form using the Application ID and Password.
Test Pattern of MAH-MCA-CET
MAH-MCA-CET is now a computer based test (since 2013). The question paper for MCA-2013 comprised of Section A and Section B with questions from the following test areas:

The break-up of marks was as follows:
Section A : 25 objective questions (25*4 =100 marks).
Section B : 25 objective questions (25*4= 100 marks)
Total questions: 50 questions for 200 marks.
Duration of the test: 90 min.
Each correct answer is awarded 4 marks while incorrect response attracts one negative mark.
