JMI was founded at Aligarh in 1920 during the Khilafat and Non-Cooperation movement on the behest of Gandhiji’s call to boycott government supported educational institutions. The institution was relocated to Delhi in 1925 and went on to become a Central University in 1988 by an act of Indian Parliament vide Jamia Millia Islamia ACT 1988 (No. 59 of 1988).

JMI offer both B.Tech (Regular) and B.E (Evening – for diploma holders) degrees in various engineering disciplines.

Details of Admission Test, Interview and Experience:

For B.Tech programme

Medium of test is English and all questions will be objective type in the standard of CBSE 10+2 exam.

A student should score 45% aggregate marks in PCM in 10+2 level for securing first year B.Tech admission.

The B.Tech admission test is conducted during the month of June.

For B.E programmes(evening)

For working professionals and experienced holders only. Total seats - 350

There will be only one paper with 3 hr duration having a total mark of 130 and 30 marks will be given for performance in interview and 40 marks for the experience.

For B Arch programme

B. Arch. Entrance Test

Total seats - 40 regular and 40 self finance

There shall be two papers, the first (PCM) containing three sections viz. Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics. All questions will be objective type & Second (Aptitude test).

Minimum 50% marks in aggregate in PCM and English in 10+2 exam is required for admission in B Arch first year
