Duration: 30 minutes

Word Limit: 300 words

Please note that a Case Study/Argument was given, which students had to read and write analysis about it. 

Sample Topics

  • School children are currently being given homework which mostly involves memorizing lot of content. This discourages their creativity and hampers their overall mental development. Should this be changed? If yes, how?
  • A gentleman agrees with Ramachandra Guha's statement that awarding the Bharat Ratna to Madan Mohan Malviya posthumously was a mistake. He then goes on to make his own argument that giving it to anyone posthumously is wrong as doing so would encourage many groups to raise demand for awarding it to a lot of other 17/18th century heroes.

Students had to evaluate his line of reasoning, state assumptions and provide evidence both countering and in support of their arguments.

  • Free basics by Facebook can be seen as an advantage for the digital have-nots, since the current Internet penetrative in India is only 30%. However it is considered as a violation of net neutrality. How do you project the debate to go regarding this in future?
