  • All top management schools in the country have an exemplary track record of getting 100% placement with very good salaries and job roles. The B-Schools have also been quite successful in getting a number of their students placed in organizations that offer international postings. In fact, of late, the dollar salaries for these international placements range between USD 60,000 and USD 200,000 per annum.
  • The IIMs and other 'Top-notch' institutes claim an average placement salary of about INR 25 to 35 lakh per annum! The highest salary on offer for domestic placements can be as high as INR 60 lakh per annum!! The lowest salary on offer at these management institutes is about INR 12-15 lakh..
  • The average salary in the next level of management institutes is about INR 15 to 20 lakh per annum. The lowest salary on offer ranges between INR 8-10 lakh and highest domestic salary ranges between INR 20-25 lakh. And at the next level of management institutes the average salary on offer is around INR 10 to 12 lakh per annum.

This year’s placement season at the B-schools has started on an extremely bright note, with a host of B-schools reporting huge uptick in the number of offers as well as average compensation package.

IIM Calcutta created a new record, they achieved an average salary of 34 lacs p.a.! Similarly XLRI, FMS Delhi, SPJIMR have all reported average salaries of more than 30 lacs per annum.

Premier recruiters like Accenture strategy, A.T. Kearney, Bain and company, BCG, Amazon, Deloitte USI,HUL, Microsoft, ABG etc made a beeline to recruit the MBA graduates at all the premier B-schools.

This jump in salaries was witnessed among the AAA+ and AA grade B-schools also. SIBM Pune secured a whopping 23.06 lacs p.a. avg salary, whereas VGSOM reported 19.3 lacs p.a. average salary figure.

This trend continued even among the B-schools in the next rung, they too reported a huge jump in average salaries. IIM Nagpur and IIM Visakhapatnam have reported 15+ lacs average salary.

This goes on to prove that the negative impact of the pandemic is over and MBA aspirants can surely expect a very bright future.

B-schools across the country are seeing a tremendous run in the placement season this year. The year began with increased salaries/stipend seen during the final and summer placements. On the back of this, the summer placements have started on an extremely positive note.

At IIM Ahmedabad, summer placements were completed in three clusters. IIM-A saw 50 firms participating in the process in the first cluster with Boston Consulting Group (BCG) being the top recruiter with 20 offers. Other prominent recruiters in the consulting domain included AT Kearney, Accenture Strategy, Alvarez & Marsal, Bain & Company, Deloitte USI, McKinsey & Company, Roland Berger and Strategy.

In the second cluster, 53 firms participated and Amazon emerged top recruiter with 14 offers. In the advertising & media domain, ABP News and Star India doled out three offers each. Samsung Electronics made the highest number of offers in the consumer electronics cohort with five offers.

Consumer goods segment included regulars like AB InBev, Coca-Cola, General Mills, HUL, ITC, Johnson & Johnson, Kimberly Clark, Mondelez, Nestle, P&G, and Wipro Consumer Care.

In the third cluster, more than 40 firms participated. Microsoft was the top recruiter with 10 offers. The key recruiters in the BFSI cohort were American Express and FinIQ with eight offers each.

IIM Calcutta, has concluded its summer placements for the Class of 2023 with more than 120 companies participating in the process, making offers to the 458 candidates. The highest number of offers (26%) during the summers came in from the Banking and Financial Services domain. Citibank was the largest recruiter in the sector. Other prominent names recruiting from the campus were Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Barclays, Credit Suisse, Goldman Sachs among others.

The consulting sector was another prominent recruiter with 100-plus (22%) accepted offers during the placement process. Boston Consulting Group made the maximum number of offers in the sector while others like McKinsey & Co., Bain & Co., A.T. Kearney and Alvarez & Marsal also recruited from campus.

All the 525 MBA students of IIM Bangalore (IIMB) were recruited for summer placements by over hundred companies with 532 offers.

The roles offered included Strategy Consulting, Niche Consulting, Business Analytics, Investment Banking, Capital Markets, Corporate Finance, Commercial Banking, Sales and Marketing, Business Leadership, Product Management, Operations, Category Management and General Management.

IIM Kozhikode completed summer placements. They attracted participation from 132 recruiters, including 64 new recruiters, who offered internships to 559 students, at an average stipend of INR 2 lakhs, a 6.4% increase to the last year figures.
