  • Most top management schools in the country have an exemplary track record of getting 100% placement with very good salaries and job roles. The B-Schools have also been quite successful in getting a number of their students placed in organizations that offer international postings. In fact, of late, the dollar salaries for these international placements range between USD 60,000 and USD 200,000 per annum.
  • The IIMs and other 'Top-notch' institutes claim an average placement salary of about INR 12 to 23 lakh per annum! The highest salary on offer for domestic placements can be as high as INR 60 lakh per annum!! The lowest salary on offer at these management institutes is about INR 8 to 10 lakh..
  • The average salary in the next level of management institutes is about INR 10 to 12 lakh per annum. The lowest salary on offer ranges between INR 5-7 lakh and highest domestic salary ranges between INR 15-20 lakh. And at the next level of management institutes the average salary on offer is around INR 6 to 10 lakh per annum.

This year’s placement season at the B-schools has started on the right note, with a host of B-schools reporting an uptick in the number of offers as well as average compensation package.

IIM Ahmedabad conitnued to create new records, they achieved an average salary of more than 22 lacs p.a.

IIM Calcutta has completed final placements for the PGDM batch of 2017 with a total of 474 offers. The highest domestic package was Rs 70 lakh per annum, whereas the highest international package was Rs 86.9 lakh ($130,000).

The finance sector rolled out the maximum number of offers, contributing to as much as. 29% of the total. Offers were made in this sector by top recruiters like Arga Investment, BAML, Citibank, Goldman Sachs, HSBC and JPMC.

MDI Gurgaon has completed its final placements in 3.5 days, with an average salary of 18.8 lacs p.a., the placement season saw participation from 143 companies.

Average compensation at IIFT has seen a tremendous increase, they acheived an average salary of INR 18.4 lpa. with 3 students securing a salary offer of more than 1 crore Rs and 6 students secured more than 75 Rs salary offers!

Faculty of Management Studies' final placement process has seen a spurt in hiring by ecommerce and IT firms, with 50% more students being absorbed in roles offered by these sectors as compared with last year. The highest domestic package offered this year was Rs 54.3 lakh per annum, while the highest overseas package was $150,000 (about Rs 1 crore). The average package for lateral candidates was Rs 24.8 lakh per annum. Over 63 students were offered packages between Rs 20 lakh and Rs 24.9 lakh.

B-schools across the country are seeing a tremendous run in placements season this year. The year began with increased salaries/stipend seen during the final and summer placements, including FMS Delhi and SP Jain Mumbai's 20+ lakh per annum average salary. On the back of this, the summer placements have started on an extremely positive note. A student of IIM Calcutta secured a whopping 4.5 Lacs per month stipend during the summer internship process.The B-schools are now having a problem of abundance as many companies are having to go back empty handed. Why? The B-school students are all taken within few days of the beginning of the season! This has been the situation at many top B-schools – IIM Calcutta,IIM Lucknow, IIM Kozhikode,FMS, JBIMS to name a few.

Consulting firms and investment banks are leading the pack while the e-commerce companies are giving them a stiff competition. TAS ( Tata administrative services ) and Aditya Birla Group offered max internship offers at IIM Ahmedabad for their general management roles.

At IIM Calcutta the BFSI sector witnessed a surge in the number of banking sector firms and private recruiters participating in the placement process, with Goldman Sachs emerging the top recruiter in the category.

Major recruiters like Boston Consulting Group, Goldman Sachs, Axis Bank, Citi Bank, JP Morgan, Microsoft, Google, American Express, Ernst & Young, HUL, ITC, Microsoft, Nestle and Credit Suisse, among others marked their presence on IIM-Kozhikode campus.

IIT Bombay ( SJMSOM ) saw a 27% rise in its average stipend being offered, it has risen to 1.19 Lac pm.

The new IIMs too are securing very good summer internships for their students. IIM Nagpur has seen a 24% jump in their average stipend, it has now reached Rs 56 thousand. This year 40 recruiters participated in the summer placements process.
