All India Common Entrance Examination (All India Pre-Veterinary Test)
for admission to BVSc & AH Course

Veterinary Council of India conducts All India entrance examination for filling up 15% of total number of seats on Merit in each Government Veterinary College in India (except from Jammu and Kashmir State) from Indian Nationals for admission to 1st year of Bachelor of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry degree course (B.V.Sc. & A.H) for every academic sessions.

Students from the State of Jammu & Kashmir are not eligible to appear in this test, as that State has not adopted the provisions of the Indian Veterinary Council Act, 1984 in the State of Jammu & Kashmir.

Academic Eligibility for Open Category:

Qualifying Examination:

1) Candidate must have passed the Higher Secondary Examination or the Indian School Certificate Examination equivalent to 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and any other elective subject with English at a level not less than the core course for English as prescribed by the NCERTor equivalent qualification as prescribed in the Veterinary Council of India –

OR

Candidates who have passed the B.Sc. examination from a recognized University with not less than two of the following subjects - Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany/Zoology) and has passed the 10+2 examination with the following subjects - Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English.

Candidates appearing in the 12th class examination under 10+2 system or equivalent examination and awaiting the results, in the year of admission are also eligible to apply.

Minimum Marks for Qualifying Examination

To be eligible for appearing in entrance examination, the candidates must have passed the qualifying Examination obtaining not less than 50% of the aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English. Candidates who have passed the B.Sc. examination should have 50% aggregate for not less than two of the subjects-Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

Age: The candidate has attained or will attain age of seventeen (17) years on 31st December of the year.

Duration of Course: The duration of B.V.Sc. & A.H. degree course is spread over five complete academic years including a compulsory rotating internship of six months.
