All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS)
All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) is an autonomous institution
teaching programs in medical and para-medical courses both at undergraduate and
postgraduate levels and awards its own degrees. The courses run at AIIMS are
MBBS, BSc (Hon) Human Biology, BSc courses in Nursing Audiometry, Ophthalmic
techniques and radiography at undergraduate level. Postgraduate courses in
virtually all the basic and clinical medical specialties and super specialties
are also conducted. Admissions to these courses are made through national level
entrance examinations.
Eligibility
Candidates who have passed 12th class examination under 10+2 system or an
equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English securing a
minimum of 60% marks (50% in case of Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe
candidates) in aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, Biology & English or whose
results of class-XII are likely to be declared by mid July, 2008 are eligible
to apply.
Age
The candidate should have completed 17 years of age at the time of admission or
will complete 17 years on or before 31st of December of the year of his/her
admission to the 1st year of MBBS/BDS course and is an Indian National.
Exam Pattern
The competitive entrance Examination will be of 3 1/2 hours duration and will
have one paper consisting of 200 objective type (multiple choice and
reason-assertion type) questions, from Physics, Chemistry, Biology and General
Knowledge. The details of distribution of marks are as follows:
