COMEDK


The Consortium Of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka has been formed with the objective to offer effective, fair testing procedure to determine merit of the students who are seeking admissions to the undergraduate professional courses of the member institutions. It is more popularly known as COMEDK. This consortium is responsible for organizing the common Entrance test, publication of test score and rank list and also conduct a centralized counseling.Non-Karnataka students (students not eligible to be considered in the Karnataka quota) are not allowed to appear for Karnataka-CET,instead they could appear for the COMEDK examination for admission.

Eligibility Criteria :

MBBS & BDS:

Candidates should have passed the qualifying examination, the last two years of study comprising of Physics, Chemistry and Biology with English as a compulsory subject. They must have passed these subjects individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50%of marks taken together in PCB.

However for BDS a minimum of 50% is mandatory for all candidates both in qualifying examination (PCB) and Competitive Entrance Test.

As per the consensual agreement with Government of Karnataka, seat sharing for current academic year is as follows:

Test and Related Information:

The Entrance Test COMEDK UGET is mandatory for all candidates seeking admissions to Member Institutions of COMEDK. . A merit / rank list is generated based on the candidate's scores.

Test Scheme:

COMEDK UGET will have the following papers:

  • Combined paper for Physics and Chemistry -Compulsory for all the Candidates appearing for COMEDK UGET
  • Biology Compulsory for the candidates aspiring for MBBS/BDS
  • Paper 1 –Combined paper in Physics and Chemistry - There will be a total of 120 questions:60 questions in Physics and 60 questions in Chemistry.
  • The test duration for combined paper is 120 minutes and is compulsory for all candidates seeking admissions to M.B.B.S., B.D.S, and B.E.
  • Paper 2 – Biology and Mathematics - separately, with each subject having 60 questions with duration of 60 minutes.
  • Candidates are free to choose any one or both the subjects – Mathematics as well as Biology
  • Candidates are required to mark their answers on an OMR sheet (Optical Mark Reader).
  • Correct answer for each question will be awarded one mark.
  • No negative marking
INTER SE MERIT

Ties in the test scores, if any, will be resolved on the basis of the Inter Se Merit as defined below:

For Medical/Dental candidates:

  1. Aggregate marks in Biology and Chemistry in the Entrance Test
  2. Marks in Biology in the Entrance Test
  3. Age of the Candidate, the elder candidate is ranked higher than the younger candidate.
