Chat on preparation tips for QA/DI & LR!
(Chat Transcript)

jamesbond : HELLO I AM A NON TIME STUDENT..I HAVE REGISTERED FOR TH FREE AIMCAT..SHOULD I CARRY ANY FORM TO THE CENTER?IF YES WHAT IS IT?
vinnayraj : your id card should be enough...

varun : GOOD EVENING. WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO MAKE IT UP INTO THE TOPPER'S LIST OF AIMCATS? I MEAN WHAT DO I MAKE IT OUT OF IT? THANK YOU.
vasanthkumar : Hi Varun, It means you have to come on top in the AIMCAT, by ur preparation...

pri : HOW HARD IS THE CAT PAPER COMPARED TO THE AIMCATS?
vinnayraj : though aimcats give you ample opportunities to try different tests of varied difficulty levels simulating the actual cat test, they are generally perceived to be of a slightly higher level difficulty than the cat...

nid : HOW TO PREPARE FOR DI QUESTIONS WITH REASONING? I FIND IT REALLY HARD TO TRY OUT ALL PROBABLE CASES OF SOLUTION..
abhishek : Only Practice will be of help in DI.

jamesbond : SIR IS IT ENOUGH IF I FINISH THE TIME MATERIAL ALLOTED TO ME FOR EACH SECTION(I AM AN EX-TIME STUDENT)
vasanthkumar : It is really sufficient. But revise the same atleast 4-5 times. Also ensure ur taking sectional tests provided along with it.

rathind : I FIND DI AND LR DIFFICULT. I AM A TIME STUDENT, HOW CAN I IMPROVE?
sumanta : Try to solve the basis handouts first then solve the practice exercise.

pranjal : GOOD EVENING SIR HOW TO PREPARE FOR DI TOPIC SETS ?
vjs : Reading instructions carefully and a good grasp of English helps you understand the different instructions quickly. Use of 'atleast' 'atmost' and other keywords as per the question can be understood quickly with some practise.DI questions are widely based on the handouts.

nid : HOW DO WE SELECT DI/LR SET? DO WE SELECT MORE QUESTIONS WHICH DO NOT HAVE NEGATIVE MARKING?
vinnayraj : not necessarily...you should select the ones which seem easier to handle and in some cases sets which contain straighforward easy to read data...but the questions without negative marking must be looked at some time as you have nothing to lose...

kritika : HOW TO DIVIDE TIME BETWEEN THREE SUBJECTS?
vjs : There are nothing like number of hours. Using the AIMCAT analysis, you must analyse your strengths and weaknesses and plan your preparation accordingly, and You need to keep preparing till you are confident on the topic, and then keep revising regularly.

ukm : SIR I HAVE BEEN PREPARING FOR CAT SINCE LAST 7 MONTHS BUT HAVEN'T MADE A ANY PROGRESS IN QUANT. WHEN I PRACTISE I ALWAYS HAVE TO LOOK FOR SOLUTION FROM FROM SOLUTION BOOKLET.W HAT SHOULD I DO? PLEASE HELP..
abhishek : The progress should not happen only on problem solving front, but also on Concept understanding front. Try to understand the concept and try to apply it in different scenarios, in case you get stuck, approach the faculty member. Start from easier questions, build the concepts then try difficult Questions also.

sriram : HI . HOW CAN I IMPROVE MY SOLVING SPEED AND ACCURACY IN DI/LR?
vasanthkumar : Hi Sriram, Only by practice. Ensure ur preparing & practicing all the techniques that have been taught by the faculty in the class. That way surely it ll improve

kritika : WHAT ALL CHAPTERS ARE IMPORTANT FOR PREPARING FOR THIS SECTION
bhuvanaganesh : Give importance to all the chapters

jamesbond : SIR FOR GEOMETRY N MENSURATION IS THE TIME MATERIAL COMPLETELY SOLVED ENOUGH?
vinnayraj : yes...they cover every aspect required...

bobby : SIR HOW TO SOLVE THE TIME CONSUMING LOGICAL QUESTIONS LIKE THE ARRANGEMENTS PROBLEMS WHERE A SINGLE STATEMENT CAN LEAD TO MULTIPLE CASES ??
sumanta : In every arrangement problem few information is directly given about the position. Those are the constant factor based on that try to solve the problem.

sheetal : HI. MY ALL INDIA RANK IS 25. IS JBIMS POSSIBLE THROUGH CAP ROUNDS?
govindrajan : You stand a chance if some of the toppers do not take admission.

pranjal : ALLEGATION PROBLEMS ARE QUITE CHALLENGING FOR ME HOW SHOULD I TACKLE THEM?
bhuvanaganesh : please contact a faculty member and get your doubts clarified

jeevan : HI SIR HOW TO PREPARE DI&LR?
sumanta : Already answered

kkkkkkkkkkkk : I GRADUATED LAST MONTH AND I HAVE DROPPED THIS YEAR AND IM ABOUT TO JOIN TIME INSTITUTE, I JUST WANNA ASK, WHAT ELSE CAN I DO TO FILL MY YEAR GAP OR IT DOESNT MATTER?? PLEAS HELP THANK YOU
vinnayraj : if you can do a certification course along with learning a new hobby or reading extensively on a particular subject would surely help...it also keeps your mind off cat preparation for a while and will help you unwind..

pulkit : HOW SHOULD I PREPARE FOR QA IN RESPECT WITH CAT AND OTHER EXAMS
vinnayraj : more or less most of the topics covered in cat preparation are also part of the other tests..you need to additional prepare on subjects like probability(and other higher math topics) and di sets involving intense calculations for the other exams..

bobby : HOW MANY DILR QUESTION SHOULD A PERSON ATTEMPT IN ONE HOUR SITUATION BECAUSE IF YOU FOCUS MAINLY ON DI YOU MISSES THE LOGICAL QUESTION AND VICE VERSA ?
abhishek : Assuming both the sections are clubbed in CAT 16 also, 18-20 attempts with 90% accuracy will be sufficient.

manishjainnsk : SIR WHAT (INDIVIDUAL) SCORE IN AIMCAT APPROXIMATELY WOULD YOU CONSIDER EQUIVALENT TO 97+ PERCENTILE IN CAT?
abhishek : You cannot compare the absolute scores in two tests. The corresponding percentiles would depend on the difficulty levels of the test.

arushi : HOW MUCH TIME SHOULD WE ALLOT TO EACH QUESTION IN QUANT, LR AND DI?
vasanthkumar : It depends on the difficulty of the question, normally in CAT if u take more than 2 minutes & still not even close to 50% of it, its better to drop the question.

blacky : IF A QUESTION HAS NO NEGATIVE MARKS...SHOULD I ATTEMPT IT FOR CAT....LIKE SIMPLY GUESS A ANO:
vinnayraj : yes...but if you are randomly guessing it should be done in quick time...

pranjal : HOW MANY LR SETS PER DAY NEED TO BE SOLVED BY A STUDENT IN OEDER TO CLEAR CAT ?
sumanta : solve around 3 sets perday.

bobby : SIR I HEARD THAT THE LEVEL OF AIMCAT IS HIGHER THAN THE CAT EXAM. IS IT TRUE ??
vinnayraj : aimcats are generally of slightly higher level difficulty than the cat, though quite a few of them are on par with the cat...

ukm : SIR WHAT SHOULD BE THE MINIMUM NUMBER OF ATTEMPTS IN QUANT TO CLEAR SECTIONAL CUTOFF?
bhuvanaganesh : It is difficult to predict. It depends upon various factors like difficulty level of the paper, over all performance etc

sriram : HI VASANTHKUMAR. I AM NOR ATTENDING ANY COACHING CLASSES SO I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW THE BOOKS TO REFER FOR THIS IMPROVEMENT?
vasanthkumar : U can refer any Vedic Mathematics book.

kritika : BUT I HAVE NOTICED THAT QUESTION FROM THE CHAPTERS LIKE NUMBERS,TIME AND WORK ARE VERY FREQUENT IN AIMCAT
vinnayraj : many other topics are also frequent and since we dont know the exact composition,it's better to be prepared on the basics of all concepts..also 34 questions give ample scope to test most of the concepts..

kritika : LR QUESTIONS ARE VERY HARD TO CRACK AND I DONT KNOW HOW TO IMPROVE
sumanta : Try to solve around 3 sets per day and while solving the sets find out the information which is already known.

bobby : OUT OF 34 QUESTION FROM THE QUANT HOW MAN QUESTION SHOULD A ATTEMPT TO GET A GOOD PERCENTILE ?
abhishek : Good percentile is vague(it can be 90 for some and 99 for some others). I am assuming 95%ile to be good, then around 18-20 Questions with a decent accuracy(85-90%) will be good enough.

kritika : QUESTIONS IN MATERIAL ARE DIFFERENT FROM QUESTIONS WHICH ARE AVAILABLE IN SECTIONAL TEST.I FIND SOLVING SECTIONAL TEST BETTER.IS THIS APPROACH CORRECT?
vasanthkumar : That is because, after you attend the basic classes you ll be well versed with the concepts. So, u feel tat way. Also its always better to attend all the sectional tests & benchmark urself topicwise.

guest1 : HELLO SIR. HO MUCH WEIGHTAGE IS GIVEN TO QUANT SECTION FOR CAT?
vinnayraj : 1/3 for quant,1/3 for di+lr and 1/3 for verbal ability...

bobby : SIR OUT OF THE 5 QUESTION IN A DI SET ONE OR TWO ARE THE TRICKY HOW TO SOLVE THEM BECAUSE THEY TAKE UP A LOT OF TIME ??
sumit : Basically theses tricky question some time based on maximal or minimal value .in such problems mostly we take any neutral value .and try to get maximum and minimum.

sanju : HOW TO MANAGE TIME IN DI/LR SECTION? ALSO OUT OF 8 SET OF QUESTION HOW MUCH GOOD FOR GOOD SCORE?
govindrajan : Spend time in deciding which are all the sets you think you can attempt and then start solving them. Ensure that you solve at least three sets with high accuracy and then go to the other sets. As such it cannot be said that a certain number of correct answers is good enough, it all depends on the difficulty levels and the competition.

pranjal : THERE ARE QUESTIONS ON TRUTH TELLER, LIAR AND ALTERNATORS
bhuvanaganesh : what is your question

jeevan : IN DI SECTION QUESTIONS ARE LIKE VERY HARD SOLVE IN 2 TO 3 MIN WHAT SHOULD I DO ?SHOULD I SKIP THOSE QUESTIONS OR I HAVE SLOVE IT?
vinnayraj : you need to understand that if most of the questions are tough(which you can realize after scanning) the cut off is going to be lower than usual and hence you need to solve fewer questions to achieve a certain percentile..so spend more time in such a situation.but on the other hand if there are few easy sets, you cannot afford to miss them by wasting too much time on the tougher questions..

subh : SIR, DOES IT MAKE SENSE TO ATTEMPT CALCULATION INTENSIVE DI SETS IN CAT OR ANY OMETS?
supratim : Yes. Sometimes you have to do it because of lack of alternatives . Sometimes to increase attempt and score both.

kishore : GIVEN THAT THERE IS ROUGHLY 4 MONTHS FOR ACTUAL EXAM WHEN ONE SHOULD FINISH OFF THE ENTIRE SYLLABUS?FOR US, AS PER SCHEDULE, BARELY 0.33% OF ACTUAL TOPICS WERE COVERED!
vasanthkumar : Its not about finishing the entire syllabus so early, but how intense you prepare. And to be on the safer side, just try to finish off the syllabus by October 3rd-4th week.

rimo : FOR DI/LR WHAT SHOULD BE THE MAXIMUM TIME IN WHICH A SET OF 4 QUESTIONS SHOULD BE SOLVED.
supratim : First concentrate enough to get the question right while practising in home. Second : write online sectional tests to practise in time limit . Gradually your speed will increase . Now to answer your question , First : Time duration not only depend on how many questions are there in the set but also on the difficulty level of the set and difficulty level of individual questions in the set. second : If its necessary to solve a difficult set in exam hall , then you may think of spending maximum 12-15 min for the set with 4-5 questions.

pranjal : THERE ARE QUESTIONS ABOUT TRUTH TELLERS, LIARS AND ALTERNATORS HOW ABOUT SOLVING THEM ?
bhuvanaganesh : Please ask a faculty member to help you to solve these kind of questions

samikshya : HELLO SIR MY QUANTS IS WEAK. WHICH CHAPTERS SHOULD I GIVE MORE EMPHASIS SO I COULD SCORE THE MOST FROM THOSE CHAPTERS ? DON'T SAY ALL CHAPS ARE IMPORTANT ..
sumanta : All the chapters are important. Give more emphasis on numbers, geometry, time and distance, time and work,Function, permutation and combination, probability, coordinate geometry, series

varun : SIR, I WRITE DOWN ALL THE QUESTIONS WHICH I AM NOT ABLE TO SOLVE OR GOT WRONG IN THE AIMCATS. I SOLVE THEM AND REVISE THEM EVERY 3RD DAY. THIS IS FOR ALL THE SECTIONS. IS THIS ENOUGH FOR GETTING A GOOD PERCENTILE? PLZ GIVE SOME MORE TIPS SO THAT I CAN IMPROVE UPON MY SCORES. THANK YOU.
vinnayraj : that is a good way to analyze..also periodically revisit certain concepts that you are not confident about and make sure you read extensively and regularly..

jeevan : 74. THE GREATEST POWER OF 2 THAT DIVIDES 63! + 64! + 65! + 66! + 67! + 68! + 69! + 70! IS ?EXPLAIN ME.
vinnayraj : take 63! common and you get 63!(1+64+64*65+....)..the term in the bracket is an odd number so the highest power of 2 that divides the given expression is the same as that which divides the expression..which is found out by dividing 63 successively by 2 and adding the quotients..

sriram : IDEALLY WHAT IS NUMBER OF QUESTIONS WE SHOULD ANSWER IN QUANT DI SECTIONS FOR A GOOD PERCENTILE?
vjs : It depends on the difficulty level of the questions.

shruti : GOOD EVENING SIR , SIR IN THE STATEMENT ' UNLESS A IS SELECTED, B OR C IS SELECTED ' , CAN ALL THE THREE BE SELECTED AT THE SAME TIME ?
govindrajan : Yes, all three can be selected.

arushi : SINCE LR AND DI QUESTIONS ARE THE MOST TIME CONSUMING, ARE THERE ANY TIPS AND TRICKS FOR INCREASING OUR SPEED OR DECIDING WHICH QUESTIONS TO SOLVE ?
govindrajan : Generally , lesser the given information easier it would be to solve. Go through the entire information before start solving. Though it may take some time initially, the later part of the solution takes less time.

nid : SIR WHAT WAS THE APPROX NUMBER OF QUESTIONS TO BE SOLVED TO GET 99+ PERCENTILE IN DI/LR IS CAT 2015?
abhishek : This is wrt CAT 15. Around 16-18 Questions with a high accuracy is sufficient.

shine : SIR, HOW CAN YOU SAY HOW MANY LESSONS SHUD I TAKE PER DAY IF MY AIM IS TO COMPLETE QA SECTION IN 1/2 MONTH?
vjs : There are nothing like number of hours. Using the AIMCAT analysis, you must analyse your strengths and weaknesses and plan your preparation accordingly, and You need to keep preparing till you are confident on the topic, and then keep revising regualarly.

nikki : SIR, IM NOT ABLE TO SOLVE THE QUESTIONS IN LR DI SECTION IN THE EXAM BUT WHEN IS SOLVE THEM AFTER EXAM IM GETTING ALMOST ALL. THIS MAY BE DUE TO WRONG SELECTION OF QUESTIONS. HOW TO SELECT THE RIGHT SET OF QUESTIONS IN LR AND DI PART?
govindrajan : Generally, lesser the information easier it would be to comprehend and solve. Build up a systematic approach. No two puzzles are similar. You need to spend time in building up strategy for each puzzle.Initially jot down the given information in short form. Then identify the first clue with which you can start solving the puzzle. Then go on linking to the other clues. This approach will help you in reducing the time pressure and improve accuracy level.

nikki : SIR, IM NOT ABLE TO SOLVE THE QUESTIONS IN LR DI SECTION IN THE EXAM BUT WHEN IS SOLVE THEM AFTER EXAM IM GETTING ALMOST ALL. THIS MAY BE DUE TO WRONG SELECTION OF QUESTIONS. HOW TO SELECT THE RIGHT SET OF QUESTIONS IN LR AND DI PART?
asim : My colleague has answered your question, please do not post the same query multiple times.

nikki : SIR, IM NOT ABLE TO SOLVE THE QUESTIONS IN LR DI SECTION IN THE EXAM BUT WHEN IS SOLVE THEM AFTER EXAM IM GETTING ALMOST ALL. THIS MAY BE DUE TO WRONG SELECTION OF QUESTIONS. HOW TO SELECT THE RIGHT SET OF QUESTIONS IN LR AND DI PART?
abhishek : This might seem very obvious but there is no other answer to this question, I suggest you only focus on practicing more and more Questions of different varieties. For LR and DI, only practice will help.

bobby : SIR I FIND DI BIT EASY IN COMPARISON WITH THE LOGICAL AND EVEN MY ACCURACY IS FAR BETTER THAN THE LOGICAL QUESTION SET SHOULD I MAINLY FOCUS ON DI OR LOGICAL ? PLEASE TELL ?
abhishek : I do not suggest that. You dont know, if DI and LR sections will be coming together this time in CAT. In case they come in separate sections, then this approach will not work. Prepare for the worst case scenario.

kushgar : I HAVE TAKEN VARIOUS MOCK TESTS.IN SOME I DO GOOD IN QUANT GETTING EVEN 98 PERCENTILE AND IN SOME I FAIL MISERABLY,GETTING 80 PERCENTILE OR EVEN WORSE. THE SAME HAPPENS WITH DI-LR AND VERBAL AS WELL.MOREOVER I AM NOT ABLE TO CLICK WELL IN ALL 3 SUBJECTS SIMULTANEOUSLY. IS THIS A MATTER OF GREAT CONCERN OR IT HAPPENS IN THE COMMENCING PHASE OF PREPARATION.AND HOW TO IMPROVE IT. THANK YOU
vasanthkumar : It always depend on the fluctuations in the toughness as well. Also its a relative performance where somebody else might ve done better.

nid : SIR , WHAT DO U MEAN BY ANALYSING STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESS IN DI/LR? SINCE THERE IS NO FIXED TYPE OF QUESTIONS THERE//
vasanthkumar : Analyzing means, u should know in which areas u get maximum corrects & wrongs & improving on those areas. Certainly there will be some fixed questions.

pranjal : HOW MANY QUESTIONS SHOULD ONE GET CORRECT IN QUANT ALONE IN ORDER TO GET 90% IN CAT ?
feroz : But why would you want to do that? Get a balanced score rather to get a decent call. However, net score of 24-26 should fetch you a nice percentile

lnca4mo14 : WHAT ARE THE MOST COMMON CONCEPTS ASKED IN CAT IN LR SECTION?
supratim : Be good at all types of analytical puzzles & venn diagram .

rashi977 : WHAT ARE THE IMPORTANT TOPICS IN QUANT AND LR/DI?
vjs : We can't afford to leave any of the topics.

navi : MY LR SECTION IS EXTREMELY WEEK EVEN AFTER SOLVING BASIC STUDY MATERIAL PLEASE HELP
govindrajan : No two puzzles are similar. You need to spend time in building up strategy for each puzzle. Initially jot down the given information in short form. Then identify the first clue with which you can start solving the puzzle. Then go on linking to the other clues.

shiv : GOOD EVENING FACULTY,SIR I HAVE MUCH PROBLEM IN DI AND LR SECTION.
asim : Begin with the basic study material, solve all the questions, in case you do not understand any of the concepts, discuss your doubts with a faculty member, make sure you follow up with adequate practice with the online sectional tests.

navi : ON A AVERAGE HOW MUCH TIME SHOULD I ALLOT FOR EACH SET
vinnayraj : depends on the difficulty level of the entire section..generally you can spend about 10 to 12 minutes(some easy sets can be solved in much quicker time).but if most of the questions are very difficult you need to spend a few minutes more on a set to solve a few questions as the cut off also is going to be low..

bobby : SOME PARTS OF QUANTA ARE CONSIDERED DIRTY PARTS LIKE PNC PROBABLITY SHOULD I SKIP THOSE TPC OR NOT ?
abhishek : Skipping any topic is not advised. I suggest, you meet your Maths teacher and get your concepts clarified.

tiger : SIR/MA'AM HOW TO START PREPARING FOR QUANT FROM NOW.I M NOT GOOD AT MATHS AS I AM A COMMERCE STUDENT.PLSS
abhishek : You do not need higher level understanding in Quant. You can start even now and do very well in CAT. Focus on the basic concepts, try to solve Questions of different types and where ever you get stuck, approach the faculty member and get help. Eventually you will become good at Quant.

vaishu : SIR I FIND LR INTERESTING BUT SCARED OF DI. HOW TO START DI FROM THE SCRATCH SO THAT I COULD GET RID OF THIS FEAR OF DI?
sumanta : Only way to get rid of fear is to practice. Start with basic handouts and simultaneously solve the practice exercise.

hwcd6e191 : SIR ,I HAVE A DOUBT ON DI (TABLES) THE INFORMATION GIVEN HAS GIVEN LIKE THIS,CLASES (6-10) ARE GIVEN,NO OF STUDENTS FAILED,% OF STUDENTS PASSED GIVEN AND THEN, HOW CAN WE CALCULATE HOW MANY STUDENTS WROTE THE EXAM AND STUDENTS PASSED?
vjs : Then the questions are also must be based on the percentage values or comparative values.

jeevan : HOW TO IMPROVE DATA ANALYSIS IN DI?
feroz : Practice is the key. Apart from that, work on your fractions, percentages, and speed maths concepts

bobby : SIR HOW MANY QUESTION FROM DI CAN WE EXPECT IN THIS CAT 16 EXAM OR WE WILL BE GETTING THE SAME PATTERN OF QUESTION AS WE SOLVE IN AIMCATS
vinnayraj : very high chances of it happening..but anyway we should be prepared for any changes that may be announced..a lot of practice will ensure that..

shobitha : SIR I FIND IT DIFFICULT IN DI/QA BUT I AM GOOD IN RC/VA.HOW TO OVERCOME THIS AND DO GOOD IN QA/DI? WHAT SHOULD BE MY PREPARATION STRATEGY?
sumanta : Start with the basic handouts then to practice exercise. Once you are thorough with it start giving sectional tests and attempt all the AIMCAT

shine : SIR, WHICH IS A BETTER WAY TO PREPARE 1) CONCENTRATING ON ONE SECTION? OR 2) CONCENTRATING SIMULTANEOUSLY?... WHICH ONE IS EFFECTIVE
abhishek : How can you concentrate Simultaneously?

sune : WHICH ONE IS BETTER?
asim : T.I.M.E. does not count either of them among the TOP 150 B-schools of India.Check http://www.time4education.com/CAT-MBA/List_of_B-Schools.aspx

amrita : CAN NUMBERS IN QUANT BE SKIPPED AS I HAV MISSED THE CLASSES AND I FIND THEM VERY TRICKY TO DEAL WITH?
sumanta : No. If you are a class room student take the back up.

navi : I AM FEELING PHOBIA OF LR SECTION.THE MOMENT I TRY TO SOLVE I CANT MAKE PROGRESS AFTER A LIMIT AND FEEL DISHEARTENED
govindrajan : No two puzzles are similar. You need to spend time in building up strategy for each puzzle. Initially jot down the given information in short form. Then identify the first clue with which you can start solving the puzzle. Then go on linking to the other clues. This way you will get better clarity as to how to solve a puzzle.

sune : BANASTHALI NIWAI OR AMITY JAIPUR. WHICH ONE IS BETTER?
feroz : No difference as such. Still, the brand Amity might score a bit over Banasthali Niwai

amrita : HOW MUCH DO THE FORMULAS HELP IN QUANT?
feroz : Their relevance varies from topic to topic. You should be well versed with both the concepts as well as formulae in the end

pranjal : HOW CAN I MASTER OUR SKILLS IN DI BECAUSE I AM VERY WEAK IN DI ?
sumanta : You need to practice atleast 3 sets per day

bobby : SIR DUE TO MISCALCULATION ONE CAN GET A WRONG ANSWER OPTION SO IT ALWAYS ADVISED TO ALWAYS CHECK YOUR ANSWER TWICE BEFORE YOU MARK IT UP ?
vinnayraj : it is always better to give a cursory look..but there is also the danger of wasting too much time in going back to check all steps for many problems..so it is better that you concentrate on the finer details all throughout..

kishore : @VASANTHKUMAR SIR, AS AIMCATS COVERING ENTIRE SYLLABUS,FOR ME, IT IS PRETTY DIFFICULT TO SCORE MARKS FROM THE TOPICS WHICH WE HAVEN'T TAUGHT SO FAR.HOW CAN I COMPENSATE THIS?
vasanthkumar : What u ve to do is start attending the questions covered initially & ensure ur getting atleast 90-95% accuracy. & then cover the areas parallely by urself & always faculties are there to help u wit ur doubts.

alekhyaa : I HAVE FINISHED SOLVING THE TIME MATERIAL FOR DI BUT I DONT FIND ANY SIGNIFICANT IMPROVEMENT IN MY PERFORMANCE.WHAT OTHER BOOKS CAN I FOLLOW APART FROM THE MATERIAL.
bhuvanaganesh : sectional tests, AIMCATs

viraat : SIR, MY SCORES IN QUANTS ARE NOT UP THE MARK, IN ALL AIMCATS THAT I HAVE GIVEN. WHAT SHOULD I DO?? WHAT ARE MOST IMPORTANT AREAS IN QUANTS
supratim : AIMCAT score is nothing but reflection of our preparation . So please spend more time on practise . First : Attend classes . Second : Solve study material . Third : Online sectional tests . AIMCAT score will start improving . Please remember NO strategy works without preparation.

guest1 : HELLO SIR. WITH MY BACKGROUND BEING CBSE PCMB GROUP, DO I NEED TO WORK SOME MORE ON MATHS BASICS OR CBSE BASICS ARE ENOUGH?
vinnayraj : if you are thorough with the cbse basics ,it pretty much covers everything..some additional concentration is required for a few topics...

vindhya : SIR HOW DO I IMPROVE MY QUANT BASICS ?
vjs : First You finish the materials thoroughly and go for online tests To develop that Comfort level, Focus on quality hours than quantity of time.

sonal24 : SORRY FOR BEING OFF TOPIC. I HAVE 6 MONTHS OF WORK EX AND I SCORED 95 IN CAT 2015. HAVE CONVERTED IIM INDORE MUMBAI CAMPUS. IN WAITING FOR INDORE CAMPUS( RARE CHANCES) . SHOULD I JOIN MUMBAI CAMPUS OR GIVE IT ANOTHER TRY?
abhishek : The answer to this Question will be very subjective. It depends on what your ambitions are, at what level you are working currently and so many such factors. IIM Indore(Mumbai campus) is a decent option for any aspirant. However, if you feel you deserve better you can definitely give it a shot next year. The work experience will also be in the favorable zone of 18-22 months next year.

tiger : THANK-YOU @ABHISHEK SIR
abhishek : Welcome and all the best.

shiv : SIR QUANT SECTION I SOLVE QUESTION IN MUCH TIME HOW I INCREASE MY SPEED? SIR I SOLVE ADDITIONAL SHEET BUT IT ALSO CONSUME MUCH TIME.
sumanta : This is possible only with more practice.Revise the topics that you have covered already.Give sectional tests at regular intervals.

shiv : SIR QUANT SECTION I SOLVE QUESTION IN MUCH TIME HOW I INCREASE MY SPEED? SIR I SOLVE ADDITIONAL SHEET BUT IT ALSO CONSUME MUCH TIME.
supratim : Writing online sectional tests will help you to increase speed .

shine : SIR, CAN THESE 4 MONTHS TIME WITH CONSTANT HARDWORK FETCH GOOD RESULTS IN CAT?
asim : Absolutely yes.

443 : I'M VERY POOR IN CALCULATIONS PART...PLEASE SHOW ME THE WAY TO INCREASE CALCULATION SPEED...
bhuvanaganesh : please learn speedmaths techniques

guest1 : @VINAYRAJ SIR, THANK YOU.
vinnayraj : welcome..all the best!!

jeevan : HI SIR ,R U RECOMMEND TO ATTEMPT ALL THE QUESTIONS EVEN IF I DOES'T NO ALL THE ANSWERS ?
bhuvanaganesh : No.

oddguy : SIR, IS TIME MATERIAL ENOUGH TO GET 99+ PERCENTILE OR SHOULD I CONSIDER OTHER BOOKS ASWELL?
sumanta : TIME material is enough to get 99 percentile but if you want to solve more questions then you can consider TRISHNA'S guide.

samikshya : HELLO SIR I AM NOT ABLE TO SCORE A DOUBLE DIGIT SCORE IN LR/DI WHAT SHOULD I DO? WHEN I SEE THE SAME QUES IN HOME FOR LR OR DI I COULD SOLVE SOME . IS IT OKAY THAT I CA LEAVE ALL DI AND ATTEMPT ONLY LR ? WHAT SHOULD BE THE IDEAL SCORE TO GET JUST THE SECTIONAL CUTOFF MARK IN IT
govindrajan : No two puzzles are similar. You need to spend time in building up strategy for each puzzle. Initially jot down the given information in short form. Then identify the first clue with which you can start solving the puzzle. Then go on linking to the other clues. This will help you in increasing accuracy. Ensure that you complete at least three sets with a very good accuracy. Some of the LR sections may also be tough and some DI sets may be easy. It is not advisable to leave all DI sections.

hwcd6e191 : SIR, RECENTLY I HAVE TAKEN CORRESPONDENCE COURSE.CAN U PLZZ SAY WHAT ARE IMPORTANT TOPICS IN QUANT FOR AIMCAT
bhuvanaganesh : Give importance to all the topics

samikshya : HELLO SIR I AM NOT ABLE TO SCORE A DOUBLE DIGIT SCORE IN LR/DI. WHAT SHOULD I DO? WHEN I SEE THE SAME QUES IN HOME FOR LR OR DI I COULD SOLVE SOME . IS IT OKAY THAT I CAN LEAVE ALL DI AND ATTEMPT ONLY LR ? WHAT SHOULD BE THE IDEAL SCORE TO GET JUST THE SECTIONAL CUTOFF MARK IN IT ?
govindrajan : Answered

arushi : SIR, THERE IS ALMOST A NEW FORMULA FOR EVERY QUESTION IN QUANT. IT BECOMES VERY DIFFICULT TO THINK OUT OF THE BOX AND SOLVE IT WITHIN A MINUTE. I FIND IT RATHER CONFUSING. WHAT WOULD YOU SUGGEST ?
bhuvanaganesh : Revise the basic concepts and practice a lot

sune : SHOULD I PREFER SECTIONAL TESTS OVER THE STUDY MATERIAL?
bhuvanaganesh : practice from the both

agrim : SIR HOW TO SOLVE THE DI PACKAGE?SHOULD WE SOLVE AT A TIME MIXED QUESTIONS FROM WHOLE BOOK OR SHOULD WE MOVE TOPIC WISE
vinnayraj : mixed questions is a better idea as in the test also you would be solving different types of questions..also there are not many concepts involved in di .so it's ok to solve different types..

nikki : HOW TO INCREASE THE CALCULATION SPEED FOR DI SECTION
supratim : Do the basics from Speed Maths book . then solve the percentage - profit & loss chapter from quant book . Next step is to solve DI questions from booklet given to you. Do these for next 15 days . After that start writing online sectional tests.

bobby : SIR NOWADAYS I FEEL LITTLE TIRED IN SOLVING THE LOGICAL QUESTION BECAUSE THEY CAN KEEP ON EATING A LOT OF TIME ND FINALLY RESULTS IN MULTIPLE POSIBILITIES?
feroz : don't get disheartened. This practice will reap rich dividends during your final exams. Keep practicing

jeevan : OUT OF 34 QUESTIONS HOW MANY ARE FROM DI AND HOW MANY ARE FROM LR?
govindrajan : The DI/LR section contains only 32 questions. Out of which 32 are DI and 32 LR. The other two sections contain 34 questions each.

oddguy : SIR, I FIND DI COMPARATIVELY A LOT EASIER THAN LR SO SHOULD I FOCUS MORE ON 16 QUES OF DI OR SHOULD I IMPROVE MY LR?
vjs : Your strategy should be like easy to difficult.

bobby : SIR IS IT OK TO RELY ON ONLINE CALC FOR BIGGER CALCULATION OR SHOULD I STICK TO PEN AND PAPER MAETHOD??
bhuvanaganesh : do not rely on online calculator. Speedmaths is better

king007 : HELLO SIR, HOW IS ON SCREEN CALCULATOR CAN BE USEFUL TO FULL EXTENT
supratim : Start using that more often. Practise makes us successful.

amrita : HOW TO START IN QUANT OTHER THAN DOING BASIC BOOKLETS AND ONLINE SECTIONAL TESTS FOR BETTER SCORE I AIMCATS?
feroz : The pre-requisite is this only. Don't jump multiple steps. Keep practicing and soon you would be doing good in AIMCATs as well. All the best

pranjal : IN QUANTS HOW MANY QUESTIONS OF GEOMETRY ,PERCENTAGE, PROFIT LOSS NEED TO BE SOLVED ?
vinnayraj : these are important topics and questions from these topics frequently tested..go through all the theorems and formula in geometry and make sure you solve a good number of questions..

guest1 : HELLO SIR. I WANTED TO ASK THAT WILL VEDIC MATHS HELP ME IN SOLVING QUANTS?
sumanta : Definitely it will help you in calculations

im_vd : WHERE CAN WE PRACTICE QUESTIONS FROM TOPICS LIKE TOURNAMENTS AND GAME POINTS IN DI-LR SECTIONS. THE QUESTIONS ASKED IN CAT ARE WAY TOO TOUGH. SHOULD WE ATTEMPT THOSE QUESTIONS OR SKIP THEM TO ATTEMPT OTHER SETS ? ARE THEY REALLY TOUGH OR IT JUST SEEM TOUGH ??
govindrajan : Tournament questions are available in both DI study material and LR study material. Tournament questions may appear lengthy, but they have a definite approach to solve.

bobby : HOW MANY DI LR SETS SHOULD I NEED TO SOLVE REGULARLY BECAUSE I AM IN A HABIT OF SOLVING THE SAME PATTERN QUESTION DAILY I SOLVE 10 RC DAILY TO INCREASE MY ENDURANCE LIMIT IN RC SO SHOULD I CONTINUE WITH THE SAME IN DI LR OR NOT ??
supratim : Solving 1 or 2 DI sets and 1 or 2 LR sets daily is sufficient enough . Reduce your number of RC's to 3 to 4 daily .Please remember there is NO marks for finishing the RC . We get marks for answering the questions right and for that comprehension is important.

jeevan : IN LAST 3 AIMCATS DI&LR WAS REALLY TOUGH TO SOLVE WHEN COMPARED TO OTHER SUBJECTS IS THIS THE ACTUAL WAY OF FRAMING QUESTION PAPER IN FINAL CAT EXAM ALSO?
feroz : The AIMCATs are based on the past CAT patterns esp the most recent ones. DILR has been a little on tougher side for some time now

aa : HELLO SIR, I REVISE THE TRICKS TAUGHT IN CLASS BUT WHEN FACED WITH A NEW Q, I END UP SOLVING QUANT QUESTIONS IN A MORE MECHANICAL WAY INSTEAD OF SOLVING IT LOGICALLY. I EASILY UNDERSTAND THE SOLUTION GIVEN, BUT I AM NOT ABLE TO GET IT ON MY OWN. PLEASE HELP
sumanta : This is possible only when you have practised enough questions from study material and online sectional tests. Automatically you will be able to identify the right approach at the right moment.

sune : I HAVE A DIFFICULTY IN SOLVING GEOMETRY QUESTIONS
vinnayraj : most of the geometry questions can be solved with direct application of theorems and formula and very rarely do they require a construction to be solved..if you are thorough with all the theroems and formulae and you are able to spot the involved theorems the moment you look at the figure your job is half done...

tiger : SIR I GOT 80-65-75% IN X-XII-GRADUATION(BBA) GENERAL CATEGORY.WILL I GET INTO IIMS WITH THIS PROFILE IF I DO GOOD IN CAT?
sumit : Great ur academic is seems to good.for IIM you have to strong ur quant ,lr and English part .

santosha : SIR, I AM NOT ABLE TO SOLVE THE QUESTIONS OF BOTH DI AND LR IN THE GIVEN 1 HOUR TIME. I AM RUNNING OUT OF TIME AFTER SOLVING ONE OF THEM.PLEASE SUGGEST A BETTER APPROACH
vasanthkumar : U ve to practice better to achieve that. Find out where u actually lag, for instance if ur able to solve 50% of a problem, just analyze where u get stuck & discuss with the faculty.

alekhyaa : SIR, DO WE HAVE TO PRACTICE CERTAIN QUESTIONS LIKE NUMBER OR ALPHABET SERIES IN LR? THEY ARE NOT BEING ASKED IN AIMCATS.WHICH TOPICS ARE MORE IMPORTANT IN LR?
govindrajan : All the topics in SM 1001705 are relevant for CAT.

pranjal : IN QUANTS HOW MANY QUESTIONS OF TOPIC GEOMETRY, PERCENTAGE,
vinnayraj : you can expect around 6-8 questions..there is no exact figure..

shiv : SIR IN DI SECTION I CAN'T CO RELATE GIVEN DATA CORRECTLY DATA.
vjs : working on more sets is only the solution.

abhay : SIR/MA'AM, I HAVE TOTAL 9 MONTHS OF WORK EX. QUIT LAST MONTH. I HAVE ALL MONTHS PAYSLIP + ORIGINAL RELIEVING LETTER. WANTED TO KNOW THIS WILL SUFFICE OF WORK EXPERIENCE CERTIFICATE WILL BE REQUIRED
vinnayraj : this should suffice, but since you have time it is better to get a work experience certificate..

tiger : HOW MUCH PERCENTILE IS REQUIRED FOR GETTING CALL FROM AT LEAST 1 IIM?(GENERAL)
feroz : Every IIM has a different percentile criteria. However, to get a call from the Big 2s out of the 3s, score at least 99.6+. For IIMB, other factors like acads also play a role

pranjal : SORRY THERE WAS SOME PROBLEM MY QUESTION WAS HOW MANY QUESTIONS ON PERCENTAGE AND PROFIT LOSS NEED TO BE SOLVED PER DAY ?
vinnayraj : you dont need to solve every day the same topic..solve a good number of questions and once you feel confident revisit them once in a while..

shine : SIR PLEASE CAN YOU MENTION THE BOOK WHICH HELPS FOR QA\DI\LR...INCLUDING NAME OF AUTHOR AND PUBLICATION?
govindrajan : Apart from T.I.M.E material, books on quant , DI and LR of Trishna Publications provide you good amount of practice.

shruti : GOOD EVENING SIR, SIR I AM FACING PROBLEMS IN SOLVING THE TOPIC 'SELECTION' IN LR . WHAT SHOULD BE MY APPROACH FOR THESE SETS ?
supratim : For first couple of sets try to solve question by question . ( Read questions and try to make the team accordingly ) . After practising this you will start getting the right answer. In the next stage gradually move to solve the entire set first ( make all possible combinations ) and then read questions to mark the answer . Third step is to take advantage of both the methods you have learnt till then. Speed will come when you will start writing online sectional tests.

samikshya : MY QUERY ISN'T BEING TAKEN UP. WHAT'S THE MATTER ?
govindrajan : Answered

abhay : SIR/MA'AM, I HAVE TOTAL 9 MONTHS OF WORK EX. QUIT LAST MONTH. I HAVE ALL MONTHS PAYSLIP + ORIGINAL RELIEVING LETTER. WANTED TO KNOW THIS WILL SUFFICE OF WORK EXPERIENCE CERTIFICATE WILL BE REQUIRED. ALSO COMPANY SAID THEY WILL SEND EX CERTI ON MAIL SO THAT WILL BE OK OR ORIGINAL WILL BE REQUIRED.
vinnayraj : it should be ok...

ak : SIR IN DI/LR I HAVE ATTENDED THE LECTURES,SOLVED THE BOOKLET BUT STILL MY SECTIONAL TESTS PERFORMANCE IS NOT IMPROVING. WHAT SHOULD I DO?
govindrajan : Build up a systematic approach. No two puzzles are similar. You need to spend time in building up strategy for each puzzle.Initially jot down the given information in short form. Then identify the first clue with which you can start solving the puzzle. Then go on linking to the other clues. This approach will help you in reducing the time pressure and improve accuracy level.

kishore : @VASANTHKUMAR THANK YOU SIR.WILL SOLVING SUDOKU HELPS FOR ACING LR SECTION ADDITIONAL TO SOLVING QUESTIONS FROM HO, SM AND AIMCATS? IN THE LAST AIMCAT, I COULDN'T GET SINGLE RIGHT ANSWER FROM LR SECTION.
vasanthkumar : If u ve time well & good. U can always solve it along with more puzzles to puzzle u by Shakunthala Devi..

ak : SIR IN DI/LR I HAVE ATTENDED THE LECTURES,SOLVED THE BOOKLET BUT STILL MY SECTIONAL TESTS PERFORMANCE IS NOT IMPROVING. WHAT SHOULD I DO?
feroz : We'd suggest, you revisit the handouts once again. Revise the concepts and the tests you have taken so far for at least once. And keep practicing simultaneously. Results will follow soon. All the best

mosis : HELLO SIR, I HAD JUST JOINED SO HOW MUCH TIME IT SHOULD TAKE TO COVER QUANT SECTION?
bhuvanaganesh : yes you can if you work hard

gopi : SIR, I DIDN'T START ANY KIND OF PREPARATION FOR CAT & ONLY ATTENDING CLASSES.HOW I CAN START NOW PREPARATION, BY WHICH I CAN GET AT LEAST DECENT SCORE IN CAT'16? PLEASE TELL.
bhuvanaganesh : Plan for the coming months. Work accodingly

bobby : SIR WHAT STARATEGY SHOULD I PURSUE SO THAT I STICK TO A SINGLE TOPIC BECAUSE WHEN I SOLVE 28-30 QUESTION FROM A TPC I KEEP CHANGING THE TPC BUT WHEN I WHEN I GET A QUESTION IN TEST ITS DIFFERENT ND I AM NOT ABLE SOLVE THAT QUESTION ?
sumit : You should solve the question from difficulty level 3 if ur concept is clear in any particular topic.these last question will be ur check ur real litmus test.

sune : IF I'M ABLE TO ATTEMPT HALF THE QUESTIONS WITH GOOD ACCURACY LEVEL. WHAT PERCENTILE CAN I EXPECT APPROX?
vinnayraj : it will depend on the difficulty level of the test,in a difficult test it could even fetch you a 99+ percentile and in an easier test it may not good enough for a 90 percentile..so dont target a certain number of attempts and focus on the selection of the right questions and implementing the right thought out and tested strategy..

kumar : I DON'T HAVE PROBLEMS RELATED TO TIME.. HOW TO INCREASE MY ACCURACY IN DI LR
asim : Having good conceptual clarity is the key to it.Moreover constantly analyze your performance in the AIMCATs and figure out what kind of mistakes you are committing and take corrective action.

tiger : SHOULD I WRITE OTHER EXAMS OR JUST FOCUS ON CAT AS I WANT TO GO TO IIMS ONLY.
vinnayraj : you can write atleast a couple of other exams(xat, iift) to keep your options open..also they are very good options..

akanksha : GOOD EVENING SIR, I HAVE MISSED MANY CLASSES BECAUSE OF SOME UNAVOIADABLE REASONS AND I HAVE TO APPEAR FOR CAT THIS YEAR ONLY .ITS LIKE I HAVE TO START IT FROM THE VERY BEGINING BUT THE TIME LEFT IS VERY LESS AND I CANT APPLY FOR THE BACKUPS TOO AS ONE HAS TO APPLY WITHIN A TIME SPAN CONFINED BY THE INSTITUTE SO IS THERE ANY WAY BY WHICH I CAN START MY PREPARATION NOW STEP BY STEP ???
vasanthkumar : Definitely yes. But u ve to put ur everything (heart & soul) to it, so that u can make it to top B-schools. We have students with 3 month prep making it to IIM-A, IIM-B etc

xyz : THERE IS ANAIMCAT THISWEEK END..ALSO, THERE IS A FREE AIMCAT THAT EVEN NON T.I.M.E STUDENTS CAN TAKE..ARE THESE 2 SAME?
bhuvanaganesh : Please contact the TIME center

pranjal : SORRY I AM SLIGHTLY OFF TOPIC HOW IS LEVEL OF DI/LR IN MH-CET ?
govindrajan : MH-CET DI is more calculation intensive. LR questions have a definite pattern. SM 1001707 has all LR topics relevant to MH-CET.

jeevan : IN DI &LR HOW MUCH ROLE WILL PLAY THE ANALYSIS AND OF DATA APART FORM THE REGULAR CALCULATION PART ?
govindrajan : Analysis plays a larger role than calculations.

shiv : SIR I SOLVE ALL BOOKLET GIVEN BY T.I.M.E. NOW SHOULD I REVISED ALL BOOKLET AGAIN FOR BASIC TOPICS.
asim : Move to the online sectional tests, SAMCATs and ensure that you take all the AIMCATs ( constantly revise the basics ).

sriram : CAN WE CRACK WITH 5 MONTHS OF PREP?
vinnayraj : definitely yes..you should start intense preparation immediately and sustain it till the exam...

bobby : IF A PERSON IS HAVING A JOB EXPERIENCE AND OTHER IS FRESHER AND SAME SCORED 99%ILE SO WHO WILL BE GIVEN MORE PREFERENCE BY THE IIMS ?
vinnayraj : different iims have different weightage given to work experience and cat percentile when they issue calls...(though W.E. weightage is significantly lesser)..and a few iims give no weightage to work experience...

pri : HOW MUCH TIME SHOULD I DEDICATE PER WEEK TOWARDS PRACTICING DI/LR QUESTIONS?
sumit : If time duration is concerned it is at least per week 15 hr.but some time we never consider the time limit.and please get the data from economics news paper there are daily published several research on economy, try to make ur question and figures out.

mosis : WHILE SOLVING CHAPS OF QUANTS THERE ARE SOME QUESTION WHICH I FIND VERY DIFFICULT TO SOLVE. AND THEN MY SPEED GOT HINDERED. IS IT OK TO LET GO SOME SUMS..?
feroz : Letting go questions would be more relevant while writing the actual exams. For now try and understand the concept behind as many questions

guest1 : HELLO SIR. I WANTED TO ASK THAT FOR LR,HOW TO IMPROVE SPEED FOR SOLVING?
supratim : Attend classes , Solve study material . Write online sectional tests. Your speed will automatically improve. In AIMCAT identify the right sets at right moment.

kumar : PLZ SUGGEST SOME GOOD COLLEGES AFTER THE TOP COLLEGES.. ALSO SHOULD I GIVE A ONE YEAR BREAK FOR GIVING CAT
bhuvanaganesh : please visit http://www.time4education.com/CAT-MBA/List_of_B-Schools.aspx for more info

rohitt : I AM FACING DIFFICULTY IN SOLVING BOTH DI/LR. ANY SPECIFIC APPROACH THAT I CAN FOLLOW TO SCORE MORE IN THIS SECTION.
abhishek : Hi. Unfortunately for LR and to some extent for DI, there are no shortcuts available. You will have to practice a lot for improving your speed in LR and DI.

shilpi : IS IIM INDORE , MUMBAI CAMPUS WORTH IT? OR SHOULD I TRY ANOTHER YEAR?
bhuvanaganesh : If you want to get into top colleges please write CAT16

kumar : I'M AN AVERAGE STUDENT SHOULD I GIVE THIS ONE YEAR BREAK FOR GIVING CAT I COMPLETED MY GRADUATION THIS YEAR
asim : Ideally speaking take up a job ( which gives ample time for preparation ) and prepare for CAT along with it.

abhay : I SCORED 88.70%ILE IN CAT-15. AIMING 98+ THIS YEAR WHAT SHOULD BE MY FOCUS AND PLAN FOR THE REMAINING MONTHS CONSIDER NOT STARTED ANY RIGOROUS PREPARATION.
vasanthkumar : Only advise will be ur focus, concentration must be on CAT, CAT, CAT etc... Give ur best, heart soul & everything to it, you can make it big. But prep must be rigorous.

king007 : GOOD EVENING SIR, HOW MANY QUESTIONS ONE SHOULD ATTEMPT TO GET 95+ PERCENTILE IN CAT
asim : Sorry it cannot be predicted as it depends on difficulty level of examination.

bobby : SIR I ALREADY FINISHED MY DI MATERIAL WHICH I WAS PROVIDED BY MY CENTRE SO WHAT I SHOULD DO NEXT BECAUSE I AM ABOUT TO COMPLETE MY SECTIONAL TEST AS WELL ??
sumanta : Answered

bobby : SIR I ALREADY FINISHED MY DI MATERIAL WHICH I WAS PROVIDED BY MY CENTRE SO WHAT I SHOULD DO NEXT BECAUSE I AM ABOUT TO COMPLETE MY SECTIONAL TEST AS WELL ??
sumanta : Revise the study material once again. After that solve the previous years CAT papers.Attempts all the AIMCAT

bobby : SIR I ALREADY FINISHED MY DI MATERIAL WHICH I WAS PROVIDED BY MY CENTRE SO WHAT I SHOULD DO NEXT BECAUSE I AM ABOUT TO COMPLETE MY SECTIONAL TEST AS WELL ??
abhishek : Focus on other areas. In some time you would be getting another set of books from your center.

ak : @ FEROZ SIR,THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUGGESTION.OUR CAT IS EXAM IS FIVE MONTHS AWAY ,SO CAN YOU TELL ME THAT ON AN AVERAGE HOW MANY HOURS SHOULD ONE STUDY?
feroz : There's no fixed answer to this question. It varies from person to person. However, on an average one should spend at least about 3-5 hours on a regular basis

pri : HOW OFTEN SHOULD I REVISE THE TOPICS THAT I HAVE ALREADY COMPLETED FROM THE QUANT BOOKS? AND WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO REVISE THEM TO BE ABLE TO REMEMBER THEM DURING THE TESTS?
supratim : I would suggest you to revise one chapter after completion of 3 more chapters. Follow it for each and every quant chapter.

aa : HELLO SIR, WHEN FACED WITH A NEW Q, I END UP SOLVING QUANT QUESTIONS IN A MORE MECHANICAL WAY INSTEAD OF SOLVING IT LOGICALLY. I EASILY UNDERSTAND THE SOLUTION GIVEN, BUT I AM NOT ABLE TO GET IT ON MY OWN INSPITE OF REVISING THE TRICKS TAUGHT IN CLASS. PLEASE HELP
feroz : You need to apply logical thinking while solving the practice questions as well. Would be really difficult if you execute directly in the AIMCATs. Practice this approach for a few questions first and then see

pranjal : HOW CAN I MASTER ON LR ? I FIND IT DIFFICULT TO SOLVE ?
sumanta : Practice as many pattern as you can.

nandan : SIR IF I START FROM NOW ONWARDS WILL I. BE ABLE TO CRACK CAT.
vinnayraj : definitely yes..you should start intense preparation immediately and sustain it till the exam...

shilpi : SINCE I KNOW THAT IIM INDORE'S MUMBAI CAMPUS PLACEMENT AND FACULTY IS SAME AS ITS PARENT IIM, WON'T IT BE A GOOD CHOICE? ALSO PLEASE TELL ME THE REPUTATION OF THIS CAMPUS.
vasanthkumar : Reg reputation, IIM brand is always an IIM brand. Even IIM Shillong, when it started was new. So u need not bother about the reputation. But my only question will be, what if ur not able to make it next year, this big? So think twice & decide. Certain times risk ll pay well & certain times the other way around.

leena : HELLO. I'VE GOT 10 CGPA IN X, 95% IN XII, 81% IN GRADUATION (ECONOMICS HONOURS). BUT I AM PLANNING TO DROP THIS YEAR TO GIVE CAT. WOULD IT HAVE A MAJOR IMPACT IN THE SELECTION TO IIM A,B,C.
vasanthkumar : Dropping in the sense how? Can u pl be clear... SO tat i can be precise///

jeevan : SOME OF THE QUESTIONS IN DI AND LR TAKING VERY HUGE TIME TO GET ANSWERS FOR THOSE QUESTIONS I NEED SKIP FOR THE TIME SEAK IS IT THE RIGHT WAY OF DOING IT? OR ANY ALTERNATIVE ?
vinnayraj : already answered a similar query...

rohitt : RE(ROHITT: I AM FACING DIFFICULTY IN SOLVING BOTH DI/LR. ANY SPECIFIC APPROACH THAT I CAN FOLLOW TO SCORE MORE IN THIS SECTION. ABHISHEK: HI. UNFORTUNATELY FOR LR AND TO SOME EXTENT FOR DI, THERE ARE NO SHORTCUTS AVAILABLE. YOU WILL HAVE TO PRACTICE A LOT FOR IMPROVING YOUR SPEED IN LR AND DI.)
abhishek : Answered.

kumar : HOW TO SELECT THE QUESTIONS WHILE ATTEMPTING THE PAPER
bhuvanaganesh : First answer to easy questions. Then lengthy doable questions

oddguy : SIR, SHOULD I FOCUS MORE ON NON MCQ SINCE IT DOESNT POSE ANY NEGATIVE MARKS?
vinnayraj : not necessarily..first focus on the easier questions which could be mcq or non mcq and after you are done with most of them then you could chose the non mcqs as you have nothing to lose(especially when are guessing and that too randomly)..

scarecrow007 : FOR QUESTIONS BASED ON DI, IS IT ADVISABLE TO SIMPLIFY THE GIVEN DATA IN THE TABULAR FORM BEFORE SOLVING THE QUESTIONS?
vinnayraj : only if it is absolutely necessary as you will be wasting precious seconds..some of the data is better handled after writing down,so you can do that..but many of the questions can be solved just by keenly observing the screen and using values to solve..

agrim : SIR,IN QUANT AND LR/DI DOES OUR SPENDING MUCH TIME AT COACHING MATTERS OR OUR SELF STUDY MATTERS AS TEACHERS TELLS US NEW QUESTIONS WITH TECHNIQUES AND SHORTCUTS BUT THE QUESTIONS IN PACKAGE ARE THERE TOO WHICH CAN GET OURSELVES PREPARED?
supratim : Do both. Attend classes and practise yourself in home. Success is a combination of learning from others and applying that by self .

kishore : @VASANTHKUMAR, I HAVE TONS OF DOUBTS WHICH PILED UP. WHEN WE WILL BE HAVING DOUBT CLARIFICATION SESSIONS? I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW ABOUT OMETS( ANY ADDITIONAL SYLLABUS THAT SHOULD BE COVERED, PATTERN ETC).ARE YOU PLANNING CONDUCT ANY WORKSHOP REGARDING OMETS
vasanthkumar : Its too early to focus on OMET's. Doubt clarification is not necessary to be scheduled. U just take an appointment with a faculty & get it done. We do conduct OMET training separately but after CAT.

aaa : HELLO CAN U PLEASE EXPLAIN APPROACH FOR QUANTS OVER NEXT 4 MNTHS ....
feroz : The only approach would be to accustom yourself with as many questions. Keep taking AIMCATs regularly and analyse them thoroughly. Your preparation should not have substantial gap periods

abhinav : HI ALL
bhuvanaganesh : hi

rohitt : HI ABHISHEK,I AM ABLE TO SOLVE THOSE DI/LR QUESTIONS WITHOUT TIME CONSTRAINT, BUT WHENEVER IT COMES TO SOLVE THE SAME QUESTION UNDER SOME TIME CONSTRAINT I AM UNABLE TO SOLVE
abhishek : Time is the most critical aspect of the CAT. Thus, you should practice more Questions under time constraints. Take all the AIMCATs seriously, as AIMCAT is the closest you can get to CAT.

kumar : I CANT FIGURE OUT WHAT QUESTIONS TO ATTEMPT
prakashrajput : Start with the sectional tests. Then write full length tests. Also spend time with the test post the testing period to identify the questions you could have attempted.

mosis : WHAT ARE SOME IMPORTANT CHAPTERS FOR LOGICAL REASONING?
sumanta : Analytical Puzzles, Venn diagram, Cubes

devil : SIR WHAT THE RAW SCORE FOR 99PERCENTILE IN CAT 2014 AND 2015?
bhuvanaganesh : It is difficult to predict. It depends upon various factors

kunal : HOW CAN ONE DETERMINE IF A QUESTION ,ESPECIALLY LR QUESTIONS, SHOULD BE LEFT OR ATTEMPTED?
vinnayraj : there is no single answer to this...if you are clueless after a few minutes it is better move on...but sometimes in lr sets you would not make any progress till quite a few minutes and then an idea strikes and you will crack it in less than a minute..with sufficient practice you will know what kind of situations these are and how long to hang on..if you are able process data you should stick but if you are clueless about even where to start move on..it also depends on an idividuals patience levels and comfort zones with certain question types...

aaa : HELLO CAN U PLEASE EXPLAIN APPROACH FOR QUANTS OVER NEXT 4 MNTHS ....
vjs : Knowing Basics or concepts is the first step, then practise. 2.Its ultimately skills that is most important key to the competitive exams. 3. start form basic study material and refresh the concepts then work on CRTs,QAREs,QATs..and will gain lot of confidence .QUICK and ACCURACY is the mantra

xyz : AS PER PAST TRENDS, DO WE GET QUESTIONS FROM SPECIAL EQUASIONS?
bhuvanaganesh : The concepts in special equations are used in numbers, simple equations, AP etc

pranjal : HOW IS THE LEVEL OF DI/LR IN NMAT IF COMPARED TO CAT?
supratim : Slightly easier .

tiger : HOW TO START MY PREPARATION FOR QI & LR FROM BASICS? HOW MANY HOURS SHOULD I GIVE TO EACH SECTION?
sumit : For quant first focus on ur speed in calculations as well as basic concept .touch every corner as much deep as possible .try to study at least 3 hr daily.

scarecrow007 : FOR QUESTIONS LIKE DI SET 2 (PIE CHART, Q39-42) IN AIMCAT 1721, IS IT BETTER TO SKIP?
vjs : Not completely, work on all those questions.you have sufficient time to deal with new thems.

ayush : SIR WHAT IS THE CUT OFF FOR THE RESERVED CATEGORY VS GENERAL CATEGORY IN THE IIMS SELECTIONS ? OR HOW MUCH A RESERVED PERSON SHOULD BRING TO MAKE IT TO IIM ??
vasanthkumar : It depends on which category he is reserved. NC-OBC: 90%le SC/ST-77%le

shilpi : PLEASE HELP ME REGARDING MY QUESTION. I NEED TO DECIDE. WEIGHING RISK OF CAT 16 AND CONS OF IIM INDORES MUMBAI CAMPUS
bhuvanaganesh : decision is yours.

oddguy : SIR , MY ACCURACY IN QUANT IS GOOD BUT I M NOT ABLE TO SOLVE MORE THAN 11-12 QUES IN 1 HOUR.HOW SHOULD I INCREASE MY SPEED WHILE KEEPING MY ACCURACY INTACT?
vasanthkumar : Only mantra for that is practice. Ensure ur not losing ur cool & get the same accuracy, then use a stop watch & start solving questions. So that u can improve ur speed.

tiger : HOW MUCH ACCURACY IS REQUIRED IF I SOLVE 22-25 QUESTIONS IN QA?
vasanthkumar : 100% is always better ;-) but 90-95% shud do good.

bobby : SIR IN A DAY HOW MUCH SHOULD A PERSON GIVE TO RC QUANTA AND DILR ??
supratim : Slove 3 to 4 passages and 1 or 2 DI sets and 1 or 2 LR sets. Devote as much time as you need to solve those .

nidhi : SIR , I GOT PROBLM IN EAXH SUBJECT THAT ARE DI, ENGLISH ,MATHS, RESANING MY LEVEL IN ALL SUBJECT IS NOT IN MIDDLE POSITIN HOW CAN I MAKE MYSELF OK IN SUBJECTS ??
abhishek : Practice all the sections from the basics. Where ever you get stuck, get back and meet the faculty member.

nidhi : SIR , I GOT PROBLM IN EAXH SUBJECT THAT ARE DI, ENGLISH ,MATHS, RESANING MY LEVEL IN ALL SUBJECT IS NOT IN MIDDLE POSITIN HOW CAN I MAKE MYSELF OK IN SUBJECTS ??
vjs : First You finish the materials thoroughly and go for online tests To develop that Comfort level, Focus on quality hours than quantity of time.

agrim : SIR, HOW MUCH HOURS AT COACHING INSTITUTE ARE REASONABLE CONSIDERING THESE ARE SUMMER VACCATIONS, I AM COMPLETELY FREE AND I DEVOTE 4 HOURS PER DAY ON SELF STUDY
sumit : In summer time ,u should attend 6 hr class study.and try to practice the same topic in home.

shobitha : MY QUERY ISNT BEING TAKEN UP..WHAT HAPPENED?
abhishek : Answered

bobby : SIR IN A DAY HOW MUCH TIME SHOULD A PERSON GIVE TO RC QUANTA AND DILR ?
vinnayraj : ideally 1/3 of the preparation time for each of the three sections..

leena : I GRADUTE
vasanthkumar : U graduate?

manoj : SIR MY 10TH PERCENTAGE ARE 77 AND IN 12TH I SCORED 56 ONLY.. SHOULD I EXPECT FOR ANY OF THE IIMS?
bhuvanaganesh : When you do well in CAT then you can get into IIMs

soumen : SIR, IN LAST AIMCAT 1721, I GOT 10 OUT OF 12 CORRECT IN LR DI BUT WAS UNABLE TO SEE OTHER QUESTIONS DUE TO TIME CONSTRAINT. HOW CAN I IMPROVE MY SPEED?
supratim : Write online sectional tests. This will help you to gain speed .

pranjal : HOW SHOULD BE ONE'S APPROACH TO MASTER HIS DI/LR IN THESE NEXT 4 MONTHS ?
feroz : Practice as much as you can with as many variety of the problems. The T.I.M.E. class handouts and the material covers almost every variety comprehensively

mosis : HOW MUCH QUESTION SHOULD ONE ATTEMPT IN QUANT SECTION?
vinnayraj : depends on the difficulty level and composition of the test...keep an open mind and approach the test with the right strategy and do not target any number of questions..

xyz : IM FAIRLY COMFORTABLE WITH QUESTIONS ON GAMES AND TOURNAMENTS THAT ARE THERE IN SM1001704. WILL THE ACTUAL QUESTIONS BE OF SAME DIFFICULTY LEVEL OR WOULD THEY BE TOUGHER?
vjs : After completing all the material given by T.I.M.E then your are ready for different levels.

leena : VASANTH SIR- I GRADUATED THIS YEAR. DROPPING IN THE SENSE THAT I AM NOT TAKING UP ANY JOB.
vasanthkumar : Try to get a placement. So that if ur date of joining is delayed u can be happy about it & show it in ur profile as well. If ur not joining thats different.

raj : I AM JOINED TIME TODAY.IS THERE ANY CHANCE TO GET 100PERCENTILE.
abhishek : Very much possible. Utilize the 5 months you have fully. Be positive.

niketa : SIR, I AM HAVING A HARD TIME WITH GEOMETRY. WHAT CAN I DO TO IMPROVE IT?
bhuvanaganesh : Revise the basics thoroughly. Practice daily

jeevan : TO DO DI & LR WHAT ARE ALL I SHOULD KNOW PERFECTLY SO THAT I CAN ANSWER A QUESTION VERY FAST?
govindrajan : DI/LR do not have any formulae or concepts. For DI you should be good at calculations and comprehension. You need to be quick in understanding the given information and deciding the approach. For LR build up a systematic approach. No two puzzles are similar. You need to spend time in building up strategy for each puzzle.Initially jot down the given information in short form. Then identify the first clue with which you can start solving the puzzle. Then go on linking to the other clues.

aa : SIR WHEN SOLVING QUANT Q, SHUD I PUT A TIME LIMIT ON MYSELF OR SIMPLY FOCUS ON GETTING THE CONCEPT. TILL NOW, I HAVE PRACTISED TO GET THE CONCEPT, BUT THIS MAKES ME VERY SLOW DURING THE ONLINE SECTIONAL TEST AND I CUD ONLY ANS 5 Q CORRECT IN 30 MINS. HOW TO STRIKE A BALANCE SIR?
vinnayraj : when you are learning concepts dont keep a time limit..once you are thorough with fundamentals and solving different types of questions try to keep one...and there is no strict upper limit as some questions take longer than the others to be solved..be flexible...but firstly the fundamentals...

jb : SIR, IN AIMCATS I AM NOT EVEN CROSSING THE CUTOFFS. I AN WORRIED. PLEASE SUGGEST ME HOW TO IMPROVE.
vinnayraj : dont worry...the aimcats have only just begun and there are 19 more to go and you have plenty of time to improve...make sure you analyze the tests, rectify your mistakes, get your concepts clear and figure out the best test taking strategy..and most importantly be positive..if there is anything specific that needs attention consult your mentor..

scarecrow007 : THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR VALUABLE ADVICES. :)
vjs : All the best!

sachin07 : HOW TO SCORE HIGHER IN DI/LR AND QA. I GOT 90 AND 82 PERCENTILE IN 1721 RESPECTIVELY.
abhishek : The percentiles mentioned are god enough at this point in time. However, one should aim for 98-99 percentile range. Thus, start focusing more on the areas which you feel are your weak areas. DI and LR, only practice will help.

tiger : WHAT ARE THE TOP TOPICS FOR MAXIMUM QUESTIONS IN QA AND DI?
vjs : We can't take chance. do all the chapters.

bobby : SIR WE ONLY GET ARRANGEMENTS PROBLEM IN AIMCAT AND SOMETIMES REASONING TOO BUT I NEVER SAW NON VERBAL REASONING QUESTION IN AIMCAT??? SIR THEY ARE A PART OF CAT SYLLABUS OR NOT ??
vinnayraj : they are not...

shiv : THANK YOU ALL.GOOD NIGHT.
asim : On behalf of everyone, you are welcome Shiv.

akanksha : HELLO SIR, I M AN AVERAGE STUDENT IN ALL THE SECTIONS I WILL HAVE TO WORK HARD IN ORDER TO GET ADMISSION IN A GOOD BSCHOOL ALBEIT I M STARTING MY PREPARATION NOW WHERE SHOULD I START IT FROM LIKE SHOULD I GO FOR AIMCATS DIRECTLY AND THE WORK ON TROUBLING AREAS OR SHOULD I GIVE TOPIC WISE TESTS AND MAKE SECTIONS STRONG FIRST AND THEN GO FOR AIMCATS ??
vjs : You need to start preparation well in advance for a decent percentile to ensure the calls. recognise areas you are good at and areas you feel are difficult for you. Prepare a study plan and execute it. Also,go with the classes to cover certain topics.

nidhi : WAT BOOKS I SHOULD SO THAT I CAN UNABLE TO UNDERSTAND RC
bhuvanaganesh : our TIME material is enough. SMs, sectional tests and AIMCATs

nidhi : WAT BOOKS I SHOULD SO THAT I CAN UNABLE TO UNDERSTAND RC
prakashrajput : Start with CR. A lot of reading (any genre will do to begin with). Then the RC SM booklet.

student : WHAT'S A GOOD TECHNIQUE OF IDENTIFYING DOABLE SETS IN THE DILR SECTION?
supratim : This is only possible only when you have practised enough sets from handouts, study material and online sectional tests. Practise more. Automatically you will be able to identify the right set at right moment in AIMCAT's.

suraj1694 : I HAVE 90.15% IN 10TH. 90.50% IN 12TH. 65% IN ENGINEERING. I AM CURRENTLY WORKING. LAST TIME I GAVE CAT WITHOUT ANY PREPARATION. I SCORED 55 PERCENTILE.
bhuvanaganesh : what is your question

mosis : ACCORDING TO YOU WHAT SHOULD BE THE BEST STRATEGY FOR THE QUANT SECTION IN CAT16
prakashrajput : You mean the exam or the prep? In terms of test it is too early to project. Will depend on how the paper pattern changes this year.

tiger : ARE TIME STUDY MATERIALS ENOUGH FOR PREPARATION OR SHOULD I PREPARE FROM AROUND SHARMA TOO?
govindrajan : T.I.M.E material is enough. You can think of practicing from other books once you complete T.I.M.E material.

akanksha : HOW SHOULD I PREPARE FOR TOPICS I'VE MISSED THE CLASSES OF WHEN I M NOT ABLE TO GET A BACKUP FOR THAT TOPIC ??
bhuvanaganesh : Please get clarified with a faculty member

shivkalu : SIR I HAVE GOT 85 IN 10TH AND 76IN 12TH SCI AND CURENTLY DOING B.A LLB AVG IS 64%.CHANCES FOR IIM AND SP JAIN
bhuvanaganesh : good chances are there

tiger : *ARUN SHARMA
bhuvanaganesh : handouts, SMs, sectional tests, AIMCATs are there to practice

pushkal : WHY DONT TIME PROVIDE SOLUTIONS TO HANDOUTS IN THE VERY NEXT CLASS. AT TIMES IT BECOMES DIFFICULT FOR US TO GET OUR DOUBTS CLEARED DUE TO LESS AVAILABILITY OF FACULTY.
supratim : First : Talk to the center / faculty member prior coming for doubt clearing session . Second : You need to try solving sets by yourself then look into the solution. If solutions are given in the first place then you will not solve yourself and the purpose of learning will be lost. At the end of day in an exam you are all alone. So try more and we will provide you solutions in appropriate time.

oddguy : SIR/MA'AM,BY THE TIME I REACH QUANT SECTION I START TO LOSE MY FOCUS ,TAKING MORE TIME FOR EACH QUES AND DOING CALCULATIONS MISTAKE.THIS DOESNT HAPPEN TO ME DURING PRACTICE SO WHAT SHOULD I DO TO KEPP MY FOCUS TO 100% FROM START TO END FOR 3HRS?
feroz : This is generally faced by many a students. One possible approach could be to start writing a 4 hr test e.g., start with VA, followed by DILR, then QA and VA in the end once again. Sitting for four hours will develop a mental stamina. You can pick individual sectional tests for doing this

pranjal : THANKS @ VINNAYRAJ SIR
vinnayraj : welcome...all the best!!

kunal : I KNOW IT'S OFF TOPIC BUT IF I AM GETTING AROUND 97 PERCENTILE IN AIMCAT RIGHT NOW THEN HOW MUCH EFFORT IS NEEDED TO SCORE OVER 99.5 PERCENTILE CONSIDERING I AM WORKING TOO.
vinnayraj : you are doing very well right now and you can certainly cross the required percentile..see if you can fine tune your strategy and reduce silly errors..if you are making conceptual errors then go back to relevant chapters...analyze the tests thoroughly to figure what improvements can be made...

nidhi : SIR THE LEVEL OF SLOT 2 IS MORE TOUGH THE SLOT 1 ??
govindrajan : No, it is not correct. More or less similar difficulty level is maintained across the slots.

sachin : CAN WE EXPECT MORE OF REASONING BASED DI THIS YEAR WHEN COMPARED TO CAT 2015?
govindrajan : Cannot say. Be prepared to face any kind of question.

shivkalu : SIR I HAVE HEARD FOR SP JAIN MIN REQUIREMENT IS 65%IN GRAD?
vasanthkumar : Minimum they expect is 60%, but 65% & above ll get higher weightage.

pranjal : WHERE IS THE SCOPE CRITICAL REASONING IN EXAMS OTHER THAN CAT ?
prakashrajput : It will help you develop concepts for all other areas particularly RC.

nidhi : I M TOO MUCH WEAK IN. CAT STUDY ?? HOW MUCH HOUR I SHOULD GIVE SO I CAN ARRIVE AT GOOD COMDITIN ??
abhishek : Only you can answer that.

sriram : HOW WOULD YOU RATE ARUN SHARMA BOOKS FOR CAT PREP?
bhuvanaganesh : TIME class handouts, SMs, sectional tests, AIMCATs are there to practice

jeevan : FOCUSING ON DI AND LR IS IMPORTANT OR QUANT IS IMPORTANT ?BECAUSE DI AND LR IS COMPLETELY NEED ANALYTICAL SKILLS RATHER THEN CALCULATIONS .
vinnayraj : both as both the sections have equal weightage...

ram : I HAVE SCORED IN 92 PERCENTILE IN CAT 2015. I HAVEN'T STARTED FOR CAT 16 YET, CAN YOU PROVIDE SOME TIPS FOR CRACKING CAT'16 WITH 99 PERCENTILE. ARE THERE ANY CHANCES?
feroz : The chances will always be bright as long as you are serious. Keep taking AIMCATs seriously and analyse them thoroughly. All the best

hash : SIR, I USUALLY GET NERVOUS WHILE TAKING MICKS AND ULTIMATELY END UP DOING WORST. SO WHAT SHOULD BE THE THOUGHT PROCESS WHILE TAKING MOCK TESTS?
vinnayraj : dont worry about cut offs and percentile when you take the next test..just take it to solve all the questions you can and do not target anything..that will ease the pressure and you will see your scores improving...handling pressure is the key aspect of competitive exams and you will gradually improve with practice...

nidhi : HOW MANY SLOTS WE HAVE TO COMPLTE ??
vinnayraj : not sure yet..wait for the notification to come out..

shivkalu : SIR DOIND ONLY HO ARE ENOUGH??
govindrajan : No, you need to practice from study material as well. HOs help you in understanding the basic concepts, while the study material provides you practice.

jeevan : BUT HOW MUCH TIME I SHOULD SPEND MORE ON DOING FOR DI AND LR OR QUANT?WHILE IN PREPARATION
govindrajan : It depends on your comfort level. Spare more time for the area where you are week.

shivkalu : SIR ARE (A) SECTIONS ENOUGH IN BOOKS??
bhuvanaganesh : Do each and every question from our SMs

xyz : IS 1 CASE STUDY SET SURE TO COME IN DI?
vinnayraj : there is nothing sure..practice all probable sets and be well prepared for any eventuality..

sid : WHAT SHOULD BE THE APPROXIMATE NO. OF QUESTIONS PER SECTION I MUST AIM AT TO OBTAIN A GOOD PERCENTILE ?
vinnayraj : it depends on the difficulty level and the composition of the paper and there is no single answer...

vinnayraj : a common complaint with a common explanation..pressure..try to be relaxed as much as possible..it could also be due to the fact that the dormant mind is working and after enough time you are able to solve..and sometimes in the test when you get stuck in wrong and difficult questions you end up wasting a lot of time and once you panic you tend to miss the easy questions as well and even get them wrong..so avoid getting stuck...
