(Chat Transcript)

sofazz : SIR I STARTED READING PASSAGES IN RC THAT I FIND IN SM (WHICH ARE SHORT BUT DIFFUCULT TO READ) 2 TIMES BEFORE GOING FOR THE QUESTIONS AND SAW THIS IMPROVED MY ACCURACY DRATICALLY. I AM ABLE TO COMPLETE THESE TYPE OF RCS IN AROUND 10-12 MINUTES WITH QUESTIONS MARKED. IS THIS STRATEGY GOOD FOR DIFFICULT TO READ SHORT RCS?
tarannumraza : You should check in full length tests ( self-administered AIMCATs) and the advanced level sectional tests. You have to see that you do not miss out on easy moderate VA questions/ other RCs if you are reading an RC twice. One good reading should suffice. There are some questions for which you have to go back to the passage, whereas for some questions you need to answer on the basis of the total understanding of the passage.

avni : HELLO MAM
thomas : HELLO. Please post your query

n : HOW DO I GO ABOUT ATTEMPTING THE QUANT SECTION, AS CURRENTLY I AM STRUGGLING TO ATTEMPT ALL THE QUESTIONS
renufrancis : Trying to attempting all the questions in the exam may not be a wise idea. You need to understand the difficulty level of each questions and ensure you answerd all easy and medium questions. Only if time permits, try the difficult ones.

nini : SIR IN THIS AIMCAT MY VARC SCORES WERE LOW. I HAVE BEEN PRACTICING DAILY 4 RCS AND VA QUESTIONS FROM BOOKLETS AND ALSO ATTENDING SECTIONAL TESTS. HOW TO TACKLE THIS
tarannumraza : The reason for the variation of score can be checked by proper analysis of the test. You are doing good with your practice, but do follow up with daily analysis too.

madhav01 : SIR/MA'AM I AM FACING A LOT OF ISSUES IN IMPROVING MY SCORE IN AIMCAT, MY MAIN PAIN POINT IS LOSING TEMPERAMENT AMIDST THE TEST MOST OF THE TIME IN EITHER VARC OR DILR. SET SELECTION AND RC SELECTION IS TAKING A LOT OF TIME AND I AM FEELING TIME PRESSURE WHILE ATTEMPTING THE QUESTIONS. LAST YEAR'S CAT I HAD A SCALED SCORE OF 46 AND %ILE 91.31, THIS TIME I AIM TO CROSS AT LEAST 97 %ILE TO LAND AT A GOOD B SCHOOL. PLEASE SUGGEST ME STRATEGIES TO OVERCOME SUCH PROBLEMS
philipthomas : For RCs , go for one on one selection. Instead of going through all the 4 RCs together, take a look at the first RC and if it is fine , start there, anyhow you are going to do it , on the other hand, if the first RC is difficult, try the next one. In this way you will make quick progress and be able to get started without losing out on time.

svm : I AM UNABLE TO ATTEMPT DILR SETS IN AIMACAT, THIS HAS BECOME THE CASE FOR ALL RECENT AIMCATS, EARLIER WITH LESSER PRACTICE I WAS ABLE TO ATTEMPT ATLEAST 2 SETS, BUT NOW EVEN AFTER GIVING SECTIONAL TESTS FOR EACH CHAPTER AS I COMPLETE IT'S BOOKLET I STRUGGLE IN DILR SECTION
thomas : try the aimcat sa- the questions there are just a level below the aimcat questions. every aimcat has at least one medium set. so, if you are not able to do even one set, you have to work on your set selection skills

avni : HOW TO MAINTAIN THE MOTIVATION EVERYDAY??
lakshmymenon : At thus point, focus on your weak areas and set realistic targets for what you'll practise every day. Take AIMCATs regularly and analyse your mistakes. Based on this, try out various approaches in the SAMCATs. By then it will be time for the next AIMCAT! This itself should keep you motivated if you do not focus too juch on your scores - rather, focus on strategies. Remember - you need only about 50 per cent in each section to get 99 percentile. So, keep practising.

sofazz : I AM PAUSING MOCKS TILL I COMPLETE THE 1ST SM BOOKS (OF ALL THREE SECTIONS), BECAUSE AFTER I TAKE A MOCK THAT DAY I AM NOT ABLE TO STUDY ANYTHING SIGNIFICANT AND ANALYSING THAT MOCK TAKES UP LOT OF TIME THE NEXT DAY SO I AM THINKING THAT I WILL START FOCUSING MAINLY ON THE MOCKS AND ITS ANALYSIS FROM AROUND 10 OCTOBER AFTER I HAVE COMPLETED SM BOOK 1 AND FEW OF THE SECTIONALS + REVISION, ANY SUGGESTIONS?
siddhartharora : Both need to go hand in hand. try to study for sometime and then give mock after a break of at least half an hour. You do not need to study long hours, do take relevant breaks and cool down or if you are getting bored from QA move to LR-DI or VARC and so on. Also, sectional tests can also help as they take 40 mts and will help to practice.

rs : SIR, FOLLOW UP FOR DAILY ANALYSIS MEANS?
tarannumraza : Analyse the way you do for your AIMCATs.

avni : I AM NOT GETTING THE ACCURACY IN QUESTION... WHAT CAN BE THE STEPS TAKEN TO IMPROVE IT???
lakshmymenon : In which section?

dlca4af32 : IVE COMPLETED ALMOST THE ENTIRE SYLLABUS OF QUANTS FROM BOOKLETS AND HANDOUTS AND HAVE BEEN ANSWERING 7-10 QUESTIONS CORRECTLY IN EVERY AIMCAT. WHAT SHOULD BE MY STRATEGY FOR THE DAYS AHEAD? SHOULD I REVISE THE BASICS AGAIN FROM NORMAL SM BOOKLETS OR SOLVE THE ADDITIONAL EXERCISES FROM BOOKLET - 2512?
siddhartharora : The strategy is a mix of few things now. Give Mock at least once every three days either AIMCAT or AIMCAT SA or previous year papers. In between give sectional tests and also solve more questions from SM. Keep a notebook, screenshot of good questions and formulas and revise them every week for concepts.

nini : ANY TIP FOR SCORING GOOD IN RCS EXCEPT FROM DAILY PRACTICE
tarannumraza : Try picking keywords for each paragraph...This helps in tracking the idea-flow.

svm : HOW SHOULD I IMPROVE MY SET SELECTION DILR, CURRENTLY I END UP SWITCHING BETWEEN DIFFERENT SETS AND AFTER SOLVING TO A CERTAIN POINT I END UP MISSING SOME MINUTE DETAILS IN THE QUESTION DUE TO WHICH I GET STUCK AND UNABLE TO SOLVE THE SET COMPLETELY
siddhartharora : try to read twice the data given and the question asked, it's fine to take some time to understand the questions. Do daily 3 to 4 sets for practice and by the time CAT approaches you will be good to go. Keep a record of good sets, and visit them for concept revision once a week.

avni : IIM RAIPUR HAVE A CUTOFF OF 95%ALI.... IS IT THE MINIMUM %ILE YOU REQUIRE FOR A CALL OR IT'S JUST A CUTOFF WE REQUIRE MORE FOR THE CALL
thomas : the minimum percentile at which a general category student will get a call.

svm : I TRY TO ATTEMPT THE QUANT SECTION IN MULTIPLE ROUNDS AS PER THE SUGGESTION OF MY CENTER FACULTY, BUT I AM UNABLE TO ANALYSE HOW MUCH TIME SHOULD I AIM TO SCAN THE WHOLE PAPER FOR EASY-MRDIUM QUESTIONS IN EACH ROUND, COULD YOU PLS GUIDE FOR THE SAME... AS TO HOW MUCH TIME SHOULD BE DEVOTED FOR EACH ROUND
siddhartharora : See lets say out of 22 questions, the aim is to attempt 15 to 17 questions for a good percentile (it will vary as per difficulty of the paper). Now out of 40 mts, if you give 4 mts for scanning, you are left with 36 mts, in 36 mts if you try say 12 to 14 questions which you are comfortable with in 2 mts each, it is around 28 mts, you are now left with 8 mts and may be 2 to 3 more questions to be done, which is manageable.

jp : SIR , CAN YOU PLEASE GIVE THE IDEA ABOUT AIMCAT2507 DIFFICULTY LEVEL BECAUSE MY PERCENTILE HAS INCREASED SIGNIFICANTLY
thomas : varc and qa were easier than cat last year while lrdi was of the same level of cat

nini : IN QUANT SECTION, DURING THE EXAMS I FIND IT REALLY DFFICULT TO SOLVE THE QUESTIONS. I KNEW THAT I HAVE SEEN THS QUESTION BEFORE BUT DURING THAT 40MNS IT'S COMPLETELY BLANK. I HAVE COMPLETED STUDYING THE BASIC CONCEPTS BY NOW. AND IT REALLY MAKE ME UNMOTIVATED WHEN I FEEL I COULDN'T SOLVE THOSE PROBLEMS HOW SHOULD I APPROACH THE SECTION FROM NOW ONWARDS
siddhartharora : As you mentioned, you have done basic questions, have you completed exercise B from books. Also, please give more sectional tests as they will give you experience to have less anxiety during exams and perform better overall.

gowthaman : WILL THE DIFFICULTY LEVEL OF AIMCAT 2507 IS SAME AS CAT 2023 DIFFICULTY LEVEL? I WANT TO KNOW THIS FOR COMPARING MY SCORES.
thomas : varc and qa were easier than cat. dilr was of the same level

nini : WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY PICKING UP KEYWORDS FROM PARA?
lakshmymenon : Set a timer at a reading speed of 200-250 words per minute. After reading each para, try to recall the keywords/central idea before moving on to the next para.

sofazz : HOW TO REVISE QUANTS? THROUGH SECTIONALS OR THROUGH REDOING THE QUESTIONS I GOT STUCK IN WHILE SOLVING THE SM?
siddhartharora : Maintain a notebook with formulas and good question which you think used multiple concepts and really made you think, go through them at least once a week, that should help in addition to taking sectional test (it's not either or, its basically a mix of both)

dmb : I'M NOT ABLE TO SCORE IN AIMCAT, BUT WHEN I TRY SAMCAT THERE I SCORE WELL. BUT IT REALLY AFFECTS ON MY STUDIES WHEN I THINK ABOUT AIMCAT. SO HOW I CAN IMPROVE MYSELF ?
thomas : do not bother about your aimcat scores. the samcats are also very close to cat level questions ( in fact many sets are similar to previous year cat sets) and you should be confident after doing well in them

nini : NO I HAVE ONLY DONE CRQ AND EX(A) QUESTIONS. HOW SHOULD I TAKE MY REVISION FOR QUANTS NOW
siddhartharora : Any reason, you have not done Ex B, as that is CAT level question, A is basic conceptual problem.

rs : HOW TO ANALYSE VARC MOCKS AS WHAT KIND OF NOTES ARE TO MADE AFTER ANALYSING VARC MOCKS?
tarannumraza : Go to the sub area analysis & chk the question types you regularly get wrong. Check the time spent on the correct answers- correlate with the average time spent by others. Attempt the questions you left out - to see if your choice of questions is correct. For the RC questions you marked wrong...was it because you misinterpreted the question? Picked the wrong of the close options?

hymz4y842 : HELLO, I DIDNT ATTEMPT THIS WEEK EXAM AND ITS SHOWING THAT I HAVE.WHAT TO DO?
thomas : the unattempted aimcats will be made available next month. you can attempt them then. you will only get the scores and not the percentile after you attempt them

an : PLEASE HELP HOW TO PREPARE FOR DI, MY SCORES ARE NOT INCREASING.
thomas : if you have finished with the two SM books, make sure you practice questions rom the advanced online sectional tests and the aimcat sa. they contain questions very similar to the actual cat questions

abhi : ALSO SAME PROBLEM IN QA ONLY 13 MARKS IN THIS AIMCAT WHILE AFTER MOCK ABLE TO SOLVE ATLEAST 50PERCENT OF PAPER
renufrancis : To improve QA, First ensure you learn thr basics of each topic. Afterthat take sectional tests and IMCATs regularly and learn to use the 40 minutes effectively. Try to pick the easy questions at the first round, Medium questions in the next round and difficult ones, only if the time permits.

gowthaman : IF WE ATTAIN THE CUTOFF MENTIONED IN THE AIMCAT SCORECARD IS IT SUFFICIENT TO SCORE 90+ PERCENTILE IN REAL EXAM
thomas : the cutoff score in aimcat is 85 for each section and generally a similar score will correspond to close to 90 percentile had this been the cat paper.

abhi : HOW CAN I INCRESE MY PERCENTILE FROM70S TO 90S IN AIMCAT
philipthomas : Collate the data pertaining to the AIMCATs that you have already done, identify the weak areas ie the topics and question types where you are not able to score, work upon those areas , practise through the sectional tests and then attempt them in the AIMCATs.

nini : MY PRIMARY CONCERN WAS TO FINISH THE BASICS SO I JUST FOCUSED ONLY ON DONG UPTO EX(A).
siddhartharora : Basic help, but then you need to go to the next level post basics, so please start exercise B immediately.

dmb : BEFORE I USED TO MAKE MORE QUESTIONS CORRECT FROM HANDOUTS, BOOKS AND AS WELL AS IN AIMCAT (ABOUT VARC ) BUT NOW I'M REALLY MAKING LOTS OF MISTAKES THOUGH I'VE COMPLETED EVERY EXERCISE FROM STUDY MATERIAL AND I'M PRACTICING REGULARLY. SO HOW I CAN IMPROVE MYSELF OR WHAT ELSE I SHOULD DO ?
lakshmymenon : Try to understand what kinds of mistakes you are making in AIMCATs. Listen to the video solution to understand the flaws in your logic. Are you overthinking, or missing some distortions in the options, or is your problem with question selection? You must revisit the relevant part of the passage for each question, and compare the close options carefully. If you're still confused, leave it without spending more time. For daily practice, do intermediate and advanced sectional tests. Try to read a passage on a different topic every day and see if you can sum up the central idea of each para in a few words while reading.

dlca4af32 : FOLLOW UP FROM THE ANSWER TO MY PREVIOUS QUESTION - IS IT ALRIGHT IF I SKIP VERY TOUGH QUESTIONS FROM SM2512 BOOKLET AS IT MIGHT BE MORE DIFFIULT THAN ACTUAL CAT PAPER AND FOCUS MORE ON MOCKS AND BASIC CONCEPT REVISION?
siddhartharora : Why you want to skip, try them if not able to solve, check for solutions. One never knows what level questions will come in CAT, if you see last year's papers, it was on higher side of difficulty, so be ready for all eventuality.

k : MY SCORE ALWAYS RANGE BETWEEN 10 TO 15 MARKS. WHAT SHOULD I DO?
philipthomas : Revise your basics that is all topics and question types presented in LOT 1 of your study material.

svm : SIR IN THE INITIAL AIMCATS I WAS GETTING HIGHER PERCENTILE OF ABOUT 97.6 BUT NOW EVEN AFTER HIGHER LEVEL OF PRACTICE I AM LINGERING IN THE RANGE OF 80-95(MOSTLY IN THE 80S) THOUGH THE ATTENPT HAS SOMEWHAT REMAONED SAME, WHERE COULD I BE GOING WRONG .. AND HOW SHOULD I GO ABOUT IN ORDER TO SCORE 99+ IN THE AIMCATS
siddhartharora : The number of students giving AIMCAT increases over the time, so this do happens to students. Do not worry much about the same and continue your practice. Analyse where you are going right or wrong and work on the same.

vishakha : I HAVE COMPLETED ALL THE SYLABUS THEN ALSO I AM NOT ABLE TO SOLVE AIMCAT QUESTION
philipthomas : Do the sectionals and SAMCATs before going on to the AIMCATs

rinkubai : WHAT IS THE MINIMUM SCORE WE SHOULD GET IN VARC TO GET ABOVE 75 PERCENTILE IN CAT I KNOW IT DEPENDS ON LEVEL OF PAPER BUT PLEASE GIVE ME A APPROXIMATE NO.
lakshmymenon : Around 15-17, but as you said, this is relative.

bhakti : SIR I'M CONFUSED IN LRDI SESSION CAN YOU PLEASE TELL ME IMPORTANT TOPICS AND TIPS FOR PREPARING
thomas : there is no specific topic which can be termed important. questios enerally involve a mixture of different areas and is best done slowly so as not to make mistakes. do not bother about 4 sets in the paper. the aim should be to do 1 or 2 sets in around 33-35 mins after accounting for 5- 7 mins for set selection

gowthaman : WHY VARC ALWAYS HAVE HIGHER CUTOFF IN AIMCATS WHEN COMPARE TO PREVIOUS CAT SCORES. WHERE AS QA AND DILR CUTOFFS WHERE SIMILAR TO CAT.
lakshmymenon : Cut-off is always relative to the difficulty level and overall performance levels. If the cut-off is higher, it does not mean it is tougher to attain that level - it just means that the test takers on the whole scored higher in the section. So, focus on percentile rather than on absolute scores.

bg : I TEND TO FORGET THE TECHNIQUES WHICH I WAS ABLE TO SOLVE A FEW DAYS BACK. MY COURSE IS ALREADY COMPLETE. THE QUESTIONS ARE NOT DIFFICULT NOW IN MOCKS BUT HERE ALSO I AM NOT ABLE TO CHOOSE QUESTIONS ACCORDING TO MY STRENGTH AND I TRY TO SOLVE EVERYTHING FROM QUESTION 1 DUE TO THIS 40 MINUTES GET OVER SOON AND I AM ALWAYS LEFT WITH MANY QUESTIONS UNSEEN. MY SCORES NOW LOOK LIKE 2 WRONG 2 RIGHT AND REST UNATTEMPTED. HELP ME WITH THE STRATEGY.
siddhartharora : 1. Do not try to solve all questions. First scan the paper for 2-4 mts and find out questions which you can solve and then solve them one by one. Nobody asked to solve in any sequence, so go as per difficulty level and your understanding of the topic.

mucb4a271 : HOW MUCH RAW SCORE WE SHOULD AIM FOR IN AIMCAT TO GET UPTO 99.90 PERCENTILE IN CAT 2024?
renufrancis : It depends on the difficulty level of the test. You should always try to maximize your score by ensuring you havent missed any of the easy questions with at least 90+ percentage accuracy. and try the medium level questions in the next round and answer the difficulty ones only if time permits.

abhi : WHAT SHOULD I MY TARGET PERCENTILE FOR UPCOMING AIMCAT , CONSIDERING I GOT 41 MARKS IS IT POSSIBLE FOR ME TO CROSS 95 PERCENTILE ON D-DAY IN NEXT 2 MONTHS
siddhartharora : Do not target anything. Treat AIMCAT as learning exercises and see what you can improve, analyse each test and try to see what you are doing good and what you can do good. Just try to solve questions correctly and yes any percentile is still possible provided you learn from mistakes and make things better.

nini : SO HOW TO HAVE A PROPER REVISION FOR QUANTS FROM NOW ONWARDS
siddhartharora : Maintain a notebook with formulas and good question which you think used multiple concepts and really made you think, go through them at least once a week, that should help in addition to taking sectional test

kc1 : VARC = HOW DO I MAINTAIN THE SAME ACCURACY (AROUND 80% WHEN I ATTEMPT AROUND 14-15 Q'S) WHEN I TRY TO SOLVE FASTER AND ATTEMPT 18-20 QUESTIONS (HERE MY ACCURACY DROPS TO 65-70%). I HAVE BEEN FORCING MYSELF TO ATTEMPT FASTER BELIEVING I WILL GET ACCLIMATIZED TO SOLVING FASTER AND THEN I WILL HAVE THE SAME ACCURACY AS BEFORE. WILL THIS WORK OR CAN YOU PLEASE SUGGEST ME A BETTER WAY.
philipthomas : I suggest that you take a closer look at the areas and question types that are problematic , it is not the speed but the knowledge and skill factor that is holding you back.

vishakha : MY PARAJUMBLE IS VERY WEAK I GET CONFUSED WITH LINKING WITH CONCLUSION AND BODY OF THE SENTENCE
lakshmymenon : Listen to the video solutions of AIMCAT para jumble questions to understand the principles of idea flow. For each question, make notes on how the conclusion is related to the rest of the para. Soon you'll begin to figure out certain patterns.

p : AIMCAT PAPER ARE CAT LEVEL PAPER OR BIT HARDER THEN CAT THAT WE CAN ACCEPT BIT HIGH PERCENTILE IN CAT?
siddhartharora : They are a mix from bit easy to bit difficult than actual CAT to prepare you for all eventualities

mucb4a271 : HOW MUCH RAW SCORE WE SHOULD AIM FOR IN AIMCAT TO GET UPTO 99.90 PERCENTILE IN CAT 2024?.
siddhartharora : This will depend on difficulty of the paper but for 99.9 usually around 20 attempts with 100% accuracy are required

p : GIVE ME SOME TIPS ON VARC AS I GOT 61PR IN PAST 2 MOCKS HOW CAN I IMPROVE MY VARC ?
tarannumraza : While regular practice of RCs, do not neglect the para-based questions - especially the TITA ones. For the RCs too, pick and choose the questions. It is not necessary that you answer all the questions just because you have read the passage. Sometimes, you answer just 2 questions for a passage & get time to attempt another passage...which you would have left otherwise.

anurag : FOR XAT REGISTRATION, DO I NEED TO APPLY FOR XLRI SEPARATELY WHERE CAN I DO THAT?
renufrancis : You dont need to apply for XLRI. While applying for XAT, you have an option to choose the programes in XLRI(For each programme that you select, you need to pay an additional 200 rs.)

ishita : I GOT A PERCENTAGE OF 92.75 IN THIS AIMCAT? WHAT PERCENTILE CAN I EXPECT IN ACTUAL CAT?
philipthomas : Given the same standards and performance you could expect a similar percentile.

shanif : MY AIMCAT SCORES HAVE NOT BEEN CONSISTENT FROM THE BEGINNING. IF I GET A DECENT SCORE IN AIMCAT ,MY SCORE IN THE NEXT IS VERY LOW. IS THIS SOMETHING ALL EXPERIENCE OR IS IT JUST ME?
philipthomas : Fluctuation does happen , finding the reason for it is the important part , a quick way is by identifying the section and specific area where the difference shows up and then fixing it by revising that area.

p : HOW MANY QUESTIONS ARE NEEDED TO BE ATTEMPT IN ALL THE THREE SECTION TO AVOID THE NEGATIVE MARKING?
siddhartharora : Negative marks are for wrong MCQ and not for less for more attempts, so there is no correlation of number of attempts with negative marks

ishita : I WORKED AS A LAW ASSOCIATE AND MY FORMER EMPLOYERS GAVE ME A WORK EXPERIENCE CERTIFICATE AND FORM 16 BUT THEY ARE UNABLE TO GIVE ME SALARY SLIPS FOR THE PREVIOUS YEAR? WOULD THE CERTIFICATE AND FORM 16 SUFFICE?
philipthomas : Yes that should be fine, besides if the payment was to your account then you can get a bank statement if necessary.

p : IS IT DIFFICULT TO GET INTO THE CLG LIKE NMIMS, XLRI , IF WE DON'T HAVE ONE YEAR INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE LIKE 2024 PASSOUT STUDENTS?
tarannumraza : Not difficult because of the reason cited. Practice well so that you clear the cut-offs & get the calls.

akki : HOW TO INCREASE ACCURACY IN VARC ? CAN YOU EXPLAIN
tarannumraza : One important point is that you should not linger at a question, especially if it is a negative marking question. Be prudent with your choice. Do not neglect any question type while practicing/during analysis. Practice with the cock ticking.

sb : I USED TO HAVE GREAT ACCURACY IN RC QUESTIONS BUT NOW I AM MAKING MISTAKES IN RCS MOSTLY INFERENCE BASED QUESTIONS. HOW CAN I IMPROVE IN THAT SECTION OF RC QUESTIONS?
philipthomas : To do well in the inference based questions, you need to be good with Critical Reasoning, I suggest that you revise your CR concepts and practice on CR sectional tests.

sb : HOW CAN I IMPROVE MY VARC QUESTIONS
siddhartharora : Please analyse your mocks and see where you are going wrong, is it question selection or conceptual issue. Without details we cannot give any specific solution.

mgl : I ALWAYS GET ABOVE 90 %ILE BUT IT'S GOING BELOW 90 SINCE THE LAST TWO AIM CATS AND IM PANICKING. WHAT TO DO. IS THIS A BAD SIGN?
lakshmymenon : Some fluctuation in AIMCAT scores is natural. Just analyse your approach in these 2 AIMCATs and see what you can change - especially in terms of identifying tough questions, selecting the right questions etc.

sb : HOW CAN I IMPROVE MY VARC QUESTIONS' ACCURACY? I MOSTLY MAKE MISTAKES IN PARA JUMBLES OR PARA ODD MAN OUT. SENTENCE PLACEMENT IS MOSTLY RIGHT FOR ME. AND PARA SUMMARY IS RIGHT WHENEVER I ATTEMPT.
philipthomas : You are in a very good position right now as you are okay with RC, SUMMARIES and PARA COMPLETION. You have 2 months to work upon PARA JUMBLES and ODD MAN OUT. Suggest that you connect with a Verbal Faculty at the earliest to sort this out. A tip; to learn Para Jumbles work upon questions with answer options in the SM before trying the questions with options.

tejas : I AM OFTEN SCORING LESS MARKS IN VARC . WHAT SHOULD BE MY STATEGY AS OF NOW . HOW SHOULD I INCREASE MY ACCURACY AND MY MARKS IN VARC .
lakshmymenon : Focus a bit more on question selection. Revisit the passage for each question and compare the confusing options carefully. If you're still not sure, leave the question.

ishita : WHAT CLGS CAN I AIM WITH 92%ILE IN CAT?
lakshmymenon : Some new IIMs (depends on your profile), IIFT, XIM, IMT-G, IMI, IIT Kharagpur, TAPMI, IRMA, Great Lakes

sofazz : I PRACTICE VARC FROM SM WITH CLOCK TICKING SHOULD I DO THAT FOR LRDI TOO?
philipthomas : When you work upon the SM , you should be looking at the clock , because here you are engaged in a learning process for which you cannot set a time. To check speed and accuracy you have to do the sectionals.

saj : CAN I ATTEMPT THE UPCOMING INVIGILATOR MODE AIMCAT FROM MY HOME, AS I’M NOT FREE THIS WEEK
renufrancis : Please contact your center.

mucb4a271 : HOW MUCH PERCENTILE IS NEEDED FOR GENERAL ENGINEER MALE TO GET CALL FROM IIM BANGLORE BUSINESS ANALYTICS PROGRAM?
philipthomas : A 95+ percentile is good enough provided you have some proven experience in that field.

nasa : HELLO SIR/MADAM I AM FACING A TROUBLE WITH THE SCORES ESPECIALLY BECAUSE OF VARC WHERE I SCORED UPTO 35 IN ONE MOCK AND SINGLE DIGIT IN THE IMMEDIATE NEXT ACCURACY IS NOT FIXED AND I AM NOT ABLE TO IDENTIFY THAT, WHILE ON THE OTHER HAND THE SCORES FOR DILR AND QUANTS ARE NOT VERY FLUCTUATING UNLESS THE MOCK IS VERY DIFFICULT, DUE TO THIS MY SCORES ARE SEEING A GREATER TREND, PLEASE SUGGEST ME A BETTER PLAN THAT I CAN NOW WORK ON TO IMPROVE THE SCORES IN ALL THE SECTIONS
tarannumraza : Such a variation can mean that you become complacent & regular/daily practice is missing. Do go through the online sectional tests. You will be better prepared.

mucb4a271 : TELL ME A GOOD STRATEGY FOR QUANTITATIVE SECTION....MY QUANT SCORE HAS BEEN DOWNHILL IN PAST 3-4 MOCKS...
siddhartharora : Do not focus much on score but see where you are going right or wrong, analyse the paper and then see what all you can improve to give more correct answers

loky : OFTEN I DON'T FEEL CONFIDENT ABOUT MY PREPARATIONS,I ALWAYS HAVE SELF DOUBT, WHAT I SHOULD DO ABOUT THIS?
tarannumraza : Just concentrate on practice and analysis. Scores vary sometimes due to various reasons...

anurag : IN CAT, AND XAT, FOR WORK EXPERIENCE DO THEY SHORTLIST BASED ON DETAILS WE HAVE GIVEN OR DOES THAT FACTOR DURING THE INTERVIEW ROUND?
lakshmymenon : The shortlist for the interview is based on the details you give, including the proof of employment. In the interview, they are likely to question you further on the details of your experience.

kc1 : HOW CAN I IMPROVE MY VARC SKILL THE MOST IN THE SHORTEST AMOUNT OF TIME? I AM READY TO PUT IN EXTREME HOURS IN ORDER TO ACHIEVE THIS. MY CURRENT MARKS ARE IN THE RANGE OF 32-36
lakshmymenon : More than spending time, you need to refine your question selection. You're already scoring well and the score is likely to get you above 95 percentile. To improve on this, analyse your AIMCATs and listen to the video reviews of the questions you got wrong. Spend time on revisiting the passage and examining each option before you choose the answer. Do not hesitate to leave confusing questions.
