hussain : Kindly make it clear to me

vishal : MY FIRST QUESTION IS HOW I INCREASE MY SPEED SPECIALLY IN QOUANT...ANY EFFECTIVE IDEA...???
hussain : First and Best Medicine is Practice, don't worry about speed, Accuracy is very very important. Slowly and automatically speed will increase when you practice more and more, concentrate on topics which are more weight-age, avoid the usage of pen and paper, try to answer the questions calculation by observation

mahesh : GOOD AFTERNOON SIR
hussain : Good Afternoon

shaad : PLEASE REPLY
hussain : I think Your question answered

shaad : QUANT- 25
hussain : In Prelims paper spend 15 min. on English, 20 min. on Quant., 25 min. on Reasoning, It is better to follow the same order

mahesh : HOW TO ANSWER THE QUESTION IN READING COMPREHNSION, TO FIND THE TITLE OF THE STORY BUT THE OPTIONS GIVEN ARE SIMILAR TO ONE ANOTHER.SO CAN I HAVE SOME SUGGESTIONS.
manojsethi : It is not very difficult to answer such a question if you understand the central theme on which this question is based. Such questions require you to assume the role of the author and to experience what he or she may have felt or wanted to convey while writing the passage. All you need to do is to read the passage carefully and pick up key words and specific writing styles. This will help you understand the theme and guide you towards the right pick of title. Be sure to look at the passage as a whole. Most importantly, don’t choose an answer choice just because it reiterates a single fact explicitly stated in the passage. A title is meant to encompass the entire meaning of a reading passage, and not just a single point.

shaad : REASONING- 15-18, ENGLISH- 7-8
hussain : It is a decent score, Don't worry about scores, it varies from exam to exam ( Less marks in mock after enough preparation means paper was difficult )

yash : SIR,MY PRIMARY FOCUS IS MBA BUT I HAVE ALSO APPLIED FOR THIS EXAM,I PLAN TO ATTEMPT 8-10 MOCKS TILL EXAM DAY,WILL THIS SUFFICE?
hussain : We can answer, based on your performance in these 8 - 10 mocks

vishal : 9 OUT OF 30 IN QUANT
hussain : First Concentrate on easy question and then moderate, don't get stuck with one question, If the question is lengthy, just leave it, I think You are trying to solve each and every question on the basis first come first service. I think you are unable to see all the question in the give time, simultaneously maintain control on mistakes,

mahesh : I WANT TO IMPROVE MYSELF IN SENTENCE CORRECTION,SO CAN I HAVE A SUGGESTION OF BOOKS.
manojsethi : ANy good grammar book will guide you. In addition to that, if you keep taking mock tests, you will get a hang of common error types. Keep an eye on subject verb agreements. Keep track of pronouns and which noun they substitute. Have clarity on verbs and their forms as well as tenses. All these will certainly help you in attempting these questions accurately.

sri : HELLO SIR, I FIND MY SELF VERY POOR IN VERBAL SCORING 8,9,8 IN 3 MOCK TESTS. CAN YOU PLEASE GUIDE ME HOW TO IMPROVE MY PERFORMANCE IN VERBAL.
manojsethi : You need extensive preparation and not just practice. Go through grammatical rules from a good grammar book. Work out exercises realted to various question types. Analyse your incorrect answers to know why you have gone wrong. Try not to repeat mistakes after getting an idea of them. Read a lot to improve your understanding of the language as a whole.

vishal : SO ANY IDEA TO CHOOSE QUESTIONS....???
hussain : In Prlims, in Quant. Session try to solve question on Quadratic Comparisons, Series, Simplification & Approximation first, then solve Time & Work, Time & Distance, Percentage, Profit & Loss, SI & CI, Avg. ( Only Easy / Moderate )

vishal : SIR..IN 2017 VACANCY IS LOWER THEN PAST AND THE COMPETITION IS ALSO BE INCREASE SO CAN YOU GIVE ME THE EXPECTED CUT OFF FROM YOUR VIEW POINT....???

amogh : GOOD AFTERNOON SIR,
hussain : Good Afternoon

parth : GOOD NOON SIR...HOW TO SCORE MARKS IN ENGLISH
manojsethi : Practice, practice and practice. Gain familiarity with error types to be able to identify them. Work on grammar exercises. Practice vocab questions and try to keep looking up and learnign new words from the dictionary. Know basic grammatical concepts. Have a grammar book handy for this purpose. Read a lot to interpret the text completely. A regular reading takes care of all your needs in this area. Set aside two hours exclusively for practice in this area. Don't mug up the definition of words; learn them in context. Take mock tests regularly.

amogh : HELLO SIR, I AM PREPARING SINCE LAST 6 MONTHS. I M GETTING RESPECTABLE SCORE IN QUANT & REASONING. BUT IN ENGLISH SECTION, I END UP WITH MAX 5-8 MARKS ONLY. EVERY TIME I HAVE ATTENDED ENG SECTION AT LAST. COULD U SUGGEST ME BETTER OPTION.
manojsethi : A better perparation is always based on evaluating your weaknesses and getting an idea of where you are going wrong. After this, try to rework your strategy. Focus on questions which you find doable or easy to attempt. Don't go for those questions which confuse you. If you are good at vocab, you can answer questions relating to that area. Read a lot to keep gaining command and a better grasp on the language. Take mock tests frequently and keep track of your score / percentile. A focussed approach will surely lead you to success.

mrperfect : HI SIR PLEASE TELL ME HOW TO SCORE MORE IN ENGLISH I LACKS ONLY IN ENGLISH
manojsethi : I think I have answered this question. Please go through the chat for related inputs.

phoenix : WHAT WOULD THE EXPECTED CUT OFF IBPS PO PRELIMS.WILL THERE BE ANY CHANGE IN QUESTION PATTERN.
hussain : Cutoff we can expect based on level of difficulty ( means after exam ), don't give your exam based on the cutoff requirement, concentrate on topics which give easy scores, now the paper pattern is similar to SBI, hence the level of difficulty also same as SBI

phoenix : SIR,ANY METHOD TO SOLVE SENTENCE REARRANGEMENT IN ENGLISH.
manojsethi : If para jumbles is what you mean, the tips follow: After reading the sentences thoroughly, identify the topical or opening sentence. See what sentences can follow that continue with the same theme. Always identify the main theme or the topic of the para. If the sentences are too long, be brisk in reading them. Then spot special words like connectives, articles, pronouns and adjectives. These are never found in opening sentences, so this helps you assign them to a later slot in the paragraph. Above all, try to practice from the exercises on the same question type for a better hold on these questions.

phoenix : SIR,ANY METHOD TO SOLVE SENTENCE REARRANGEMENT IN ENGLISH.
manojsethi : Already answered. Please check.

mrperfect : WHEN WILL TIME ALL INDIA MOCK FOR PO COMES
hussain : Kindly visit TIME student home page, schedule is uploaded

mahesh : STRATEGY TO ANSWER READING COMPREHENSION.
manojsethi : RCs in current day exams are getting tougher each year. If RCs daunt you, then the 'bottoms up' approach will be useful for you. Read the questions first so as to get an idea what to look for in the passage. You will still need to read the passage completely to answer accurately. Ultimately you are the better judge of which approach is the best. So, practice several reading comprehensions in two different approaches and find out which method suits you. Divide the time of the exam and do the easier questions first. Usually, vocab questions in RCs are easier than detailed ones. Pick the ones that are shorter. Find a gist of the passage by reading the first and last paragraphs more attentively. Bottom line: practice a lot.

amogh : SIR, I ALSO LIKE TO INCREASE VOCABULARY AND READING SPEED. I SPEND TOTAL 10-15MIN TIME FOR RC ONLY. HENCE CAN'T ATTEND REMAINING QUESTIONS. PLEASE DIRECT FOR THIS SECTION ONLY.
manojsethi : The necessary inputs regarding this have already been given. Please go through them.

amogh : SIR, I ALSO LIKE TO INCREASE VOCABULARY AND READING SPEED. I SPEND TOTAL 10-15MIN TIME FOR RC ONLY. HENCE CAN'T ATTEND REMAINING QUESTIONS. PLEASE DIRECT FOR THIS SECTION ONLY.
manojsethi : In order to increase your reading speed, the first thing to do is to stop mumbling as you read. This is a time-consuming activity and retards your speed while reading. We call it sub vocalisation, and it is a hurdle in the way of your reading speed. try to glance at multiple words at the same time, than focusing on one or two words in one go. Don't go back to read again what you have read once. Try to time your reading activity, and check your improvement in the process. don't give up on a regular reading practice. Read a variety of topics and not those which you like. To develop a better vocab, don't skip any word you are unfamiliar with. Don't be interested only in the story line. Keep looking up the meaning of new words multiple times along with their usage, till you gain absolute familiarity with them.

phoenix : MY MOCK TEST SCORE VARIES FROM 30 TO 50.ANY METHOD TO MAKE MY PERFORMANCE STEADY
