Test Areas
The written examination for Class X will be in two stages:

Stage I examination at the State/UT level will comprise of two parts, namely
- Mental Ability Test (MAT)
- Scholastic Ability Test (SAT) covering Sciences, Mathematics, Social Sciences and the English Language.

Each State/UT will nominate students (as per the their quota) to appear for stage II at National Level.

Note:
- Each right answer is awarded one mark.
- There will be negative marking - 1/3 mark for every wrong answer. No marks will be deducted for unattempted questions.
- Once the students finish the MAT, the SAT is administered after a short break of about 5 minutes.
