Overall pattern of the test remained the same as that of the previous year. Totally 80 questions in Mathematics, English, Reasoning, General Knowledge and Computers were given. The test paper was divided into two parts. The first part had 60 questions of one mark each, and the second part had 20 questions of two marks each. The topic wise break-up of questions is tabulated below:

Mathematics: The overall difficulty level of the questions was moderate. A few questions on Vectors, Profit & loss, Numbers, Binomial Theorem, Statistics, Matrices, Co- geometry were difficult. However about 25 of 40 questions were answerable. Though Calculus was not included in the syllabus given in the brochure for PGCET(MCA) admissions, two questions on limits were given in the exam. Logical Reasoning: In this section, only three questions – one each in coding and decoding, missing number and a puzzle on comparisions was given. Two questions were easy and the question on missing numbers was difficult.
English: Out of the 10 questions in English, six questions were based on vocabulary of which one was based on spelling. The remaining questions were based on grammar. The difficulty level of the questions was easy to moderate. A student with average knowledge in English can answer at least
seven questions of the ten.
Computers: There were 16 questions from Computers out of which four questions were of two marks each. Most of the questions were based on the basic concepts of computer related terms. The questions were of easy to moderate level of difficulty. A student with basic knowledge in computers can answer alteast 10 of the 16 questions.
General Knowledge: These questions were based on Geography, Science & Technology, Sports and static GK. The questions were moderately easy. A student with moderate knowledge in G.K. can answer six of the given ten questions.
On the whole the level of difficulty of the test paper was moderate. A score of 50 marks and above could fetch a good rank. The mock tests conducted by T.I.M.E were on the lines of the above paper. T.I.M.E students would have benefitted by the study material and class room teaching.
