Manipal University(MU-OET)
Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT), Manipal, a constituent institute of Manipal University, established in 1957, is one of the first self-financing engineering colleges in the country. In 2000, the college became a constituent institute of the deemed university - Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), which is today known as Manipal University. MIT offers16 Undergraduate and 24 Postgraduate programmes.
MAHE includes five Universities - Manipal University (Manipal, Karnataka), Sikkim Manipal Manipal University (Sikkim), American University of Antigua (Caribbean Island), Manipal International University (Malaysia) and Manipal University Jaipur.
Admission to various courses is through Manipal University Online Entrance Test(MU-OET).
Eligibility:
Pass in 10+2, A Level, IB, American 12th grade or equivalent with Physics, Mathematics and English as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry or Biotechnology or Biology or any technical vocational subjects as optional with a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Mathematics and any one of the optional subjects
Minimum score required in MO OET - 50% marks is required to qualify in the Entrance Exam
Important dates:
Candidates can give 3 attempts, if necessary, to better their scores.
Online Test Booking dates:
1st and 2nd attempt - 21-28 March 2016
(2nd attempt slot may be booked after the first attempt on the same day 10 pm onwards)
3rd Attempt - 19-20 May, 2016
An applicant is allowed to take a second attempt if she/he is not satisfied with his/her performance in the first test. To do so entrance test fee needs to be paid again. The payment option for the second test will be enabled in the Online Test Booking System only after the applicant has taken the first test. The best of two scores is considered for the merit list.
An additional attempt (3rd attempt) is being provided for candidates who have applied for BTech and other specific courses. 3rd attempt will be applicable only to those candidates who have taken the 1st and 2nd attempt. The applicant has to again pay the entrance test fee for the Online Test Booking System.
MUOET test dates:
11 April – 18 May 2016: 1 st & 2nd Attempt
21 May 2016: 3 rd Attempt
Merit List will be displayed: 26 May 2016.
Counseling first round start date: 6 th June 2016
Paper Pattern:
Questions are based on the 10+2 syllabus followed by major 10+2 Boards/Universities.
Language of the Exam – English
Test duration - 2.30 hours
Objective, multiple choice questions -200
Physics - 50 questions,
Chemistry - 50 questions,
Mathematics - 70 questions
English & General Aptitude - 30 questions.
Four responses of which one only is the correct or most appropriate answer. Candidates can navigate freely through the questions.
Each question carries one mark. No negative marking.
The final score will be displayed on the screen immediately after the completion of the test.
The candidate should acknowledge the score in the printout of the score card in the presence of the invigilator.
