Infrastructure companies do participate in placements in most top Bschools. Even if you start your career in other sectors after MBA, you can always move to the sector of your choice later. It is always safer to go for a general programme from a premier B school.

lakshmymenon : First of all, please be more confident about yourself. Prepare well for the IFMR interview. Secondly, you scored well in your exams this year - so why not give it another shot in case you do not get a good college? You can always take up a job in the meanwhile. Joining a college with a much lower rating than NM, TAPMI etc. would not be very wise if you look at the long term implications. Repeating CAT to get into a top B-school is not a waste - many students do so! The brand does matter after all. For now, please focus on IFMR. Do not take hasty decisions - you can do much better.
