    EAMCET-2014

Eamcet 2014 (Engineering Stream) was conducted on 22nd May 2014 from 10am to 1 pm across 523 centres in A.P. Registered candidates were 2,82,428 and 94.37% of these attempted the exam.

    Paper Pattern

    Mathematics - 80Q
    Physics - 40Q
    Chemistry - 40Q

The over all impression is that EAMCET 2014 presented the aspirants with application oriented as well as theory based questions in all three subjects. Few of the questions were based on simple application/direct formulae substitution while few questions tested the calculation/simplification ability of the aspirants.

    Mathematics:

Out of 80 questions,18 are from I-A, 19 from I-B,23 from II-A and 20 from II-B. Few questions were simple but most of the questions required simplification, that would have taken some time to solve.

In case of students who attempted Mathematics part first, there is a possibility that their performance in other two subjects would get affected due to lack of time.

    Level 1(simple concept/direct application): 45 questions

Level 2(simple concept with a bit of application and Calculation): 30 questions

    Level 3(multiple concepts/calculation intensive): 5 questions

Topic wise break up of Questions:

    Algebra - 26
    Calculus - 19
    Geometry - 17 questions
    Trigonometry – 9
    Vector Algebra – 6
    3-D Geometry - 3

    Physics:

Out of 40 questions 21 are from first year and 19 are from second year. Most of the questions are based on simple and direct application

    Level 1: 25 questions
    Level 2: 15 questions.

    Chemistry:

Out of 40 questions 16 are from first year and 24 are from second year.
    Organic Chemistry - 10 questions
    Inorganic Chemistry - 11
    Physical chemistry – 16
    Mixed concepts - 3.

Most of the students would have found up to 30 questions to be easy but a few calculations were lengthy.

Almost all the chapters of Chemistry were covered in the exam, including chapters like Chemistry in Everyday Life, Biomolecules and Polymers.
