Architecture
Temples - How is it related with a career in Architecture? The Indian Temples situated across the country are an ideal example for the inheritance and development of architecture as a subject. The 5000 years saga of Indian mythological history is very much co-related with the temples. The monuments of that great tradition behold the basic concepts in the field of architecture. The style of Indian temples varies from period to period, region to region and dynasty to dynasty. It shows the rich value and creativity embedded in the mind of architects in that period. For eg: While considering the imperial Chola monuments, the Brihadeeswara Temple in Thanjavur is considered to be a masterpiece of Chola architecture and the Darasuram temple which is built in the form of a Chariot is described as a sculptor's dream lived in stone. Every country has its own pride of moments in the field of architecture. For eg: Sydney Opera House in Sydney, Grand Arch and Georges Pompidos Centre in Paris, Petronas Tower in Kuala Lumpur, TV Tower in Shanghai etc. The United States of America displayed its financial superiority through the construction of World Trade Centre, which was destroyed in 2001 terrorist attacks.

Another remarkable personality in this field is Charles Correa whose works

neo-western culture. He is known for his land-use planning and community
projects which are typical solutions to the third world problems. He has won the

The job will be a challenging one because the success of a good architect lies in his quality of the building, design, time-bound completion of the project etc.
The study of Architecture as a discipline includes subjective as well as field works.
