Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is conducted for students seeking admission to various National Law Universities in the country for admission to their Under-Graduate (UG)/Post-Graduate (PG) programmes.
As an alternate career option Law happens to be a very good opportunity after your class 12 which not only gives you a good career opportunity at corporate houses, law firms or even practice Law at various courts. With Law you can expect a stable career and social respect, along with a handsome entry level remuneration.
To make a career in Law you need to crack Common Law Admission Test organized by National Law Universities or need to crack any National level law exam organized by various institute like Symbiosis, NLU- Delhi, Christ College etc.
Major changes have been announced in CLAT 2020 exam pattern by The Consortium of NLUs. As per the press release brought out on November 22, 2019, there will be a reduction in the number of questions. Previously the paper pattern was of 200 questions that were to be attempted in 120 minutes (2 hours).
For 2020, the paper will have 150 questions that needs to be attempted in 120 minutes. All sections will carry more comprehension based questions. However,the duration of the examination, test mode and descriptive questions will remain unchanged. NUSRL, Ranchi will be conducting CLAT 2020..
The pattern of Question Paper for the UG Courses in CLAT 2020
Maximum Marks - 150
Duration of CLAT 2020 Exam - 2 Hours
Multiple-Choice Questions - 150 questions of one mark each
Subject areas with weight-age (approximate number of questions)
English Language: 28-32 questions, or roughly 20% of the paper
Current Affairs, including General Knowledge: 35-39 questions, or roughly 25% of the paper
Legal Reasoning: 35-39 questions, or roughly 25% of the paper
Logical Reasoning: 28-32 questions, or roughly 20% of the paper
Quantitative Techniques: 13-17 questions, or roughly 10% of the paper
Negative Marking: 0.25 Mark for each wrong answer
