We follow the following 4 stages for all our Bank Exam Batches in Goa:
Stage 1: Identification of suitable colleges and short-listing of exams to be answered: Based on the aspirant’s eligibility, educational background and interests, suitable colleges need to be selected and consequently a decision about the choice entrance exams to be answered can be arrived at.
When it comes to MBA entrance exams for Indian colleges, it is advised that students answer CAT, XAT & CMAT as they are accepted by many colleges across the country.
Apart from these 3, there are several college specific tests such as SNAP, NMAT, IIFT, IBSAT, MICAT, TISSNET that students can answer. MAT, ATMA and MH-CET are entrance exams that are also accepted by a few good colleges. Our Course Trains you for EVERY MBA Entrance Exam in India.
Stage 2: The Exam/Test: Most of the entrance exams are conducted around September to January. They aim to test aspirants on various facets such as Verbal Ability, Quantitative Ability, Logical and Reasoning Ability and General Knowledge/Current Affairs. To clear these tests successfully, the aspirant should ensure s/he maintains a proper balance between speed and accuracy. Technique and selection/choice of questions is also a crucial factor determining success.
Preparation thus involves two stages, a long-term strategy and a focused short-term strategy.
The long-term strategy would include enhancement of habits/skills to improve the all-round personality of a person. This includes methods such as vocabulary/reading speed improvement through increased reading of novels, newspapers, magazines, etc. as well as improvement of calculations and analytical skills by solving puzzles, sudoku, playing chess, etc.
The sole point of inculcating these habits is not exam preparation. These are good habits to develop which have a positive impact on preparation as well as help during GD/PI.
Apart from this, focus should be on mastering basics across all the sections in the exam. One needs to answer as many Basic level tests as possible and work to refine strong areas as well as strengthen problem areas. Keep track of topics that one is not faring well in, so that one can improve the basics of those by asking the concerned faculty for help.
The short-term strategy should begin around 5 months before the exams It a period of focused and dedicated preparation towards cracking the exams. Daily tests are very crucial for regular practice. Daily tests are to be attempted every day – one needs to begin with the Intermediate tests and move on to tougher, Advance tests. Once this is finished, and has resulted in increased speed and accuracy, move on to Sectional tests.
Closer to the exams, one needs to answer as many mock tests as possible. The more mock one answers, the better prepared one will be in terms of time management and strategy selection on the actual day of the exam.
Stage 3: GD/PI: On the basis of the entrance exam score and the aspirant’s profile, one would get a call for the next stage of the selection process – GD/PI. This stage of the process is usually held between January and March for most of the institutes.
This phase mainly includes two stages: group discussion and personal interview that assesses personality attributes like leadership abilities, grasping capability, analytical thought process, communication skills, assertiveness, confidence, general awareness, creativity, etc.
Stage 4: The Final Call: On the basis of the aspirant’s performance in the above stages, they then receive a final conversion call and are invited to join the college.
