Excellent Performance of T.I.M.E. Students in GATE 2015
The organizing institute of GATE, IIT Kanpur, announced the results of GATE 2015 Exam on 11th March 2015.
According to a press note released by IITK, a total of 9.27 lacs registered for GATE Exam and a total of 8.04 lacs appeared in the exam. In terms of stream-wise share of appeared candidates, Mechanical Stream had the highest number of appeared candidates at 21%. Electronics & Communication, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Engineering followed suit at 21%, 16% and 14%. Civil came in at a close fifth with 13% share of appeared candidates.
Another interesting fact observed in GATE 2015 is that only 15% candidates could qualify the exam. Last year, 16% students had qualified in GATE 2014.
The low qualification percentage of students indicates the increasing toughness of the exam which requires strong, disciplined preparation by GATE aspirants. The preparation should comprise of three primary components - Fundamental Understanding, Problem Solving and Mock GATE Practice.
