RBI has released the notification for recruitment of Assistants for the year 2016. The total posts are 610, the highest in number over the last 3 year period (506 in 2014 and 504 in 2015)

1. Important Dates :
   Payment of Examination Fees (Online) 07.11.2016 to 28.11.2016
   Schedule of Online Preliminary Test (Tentative) December 23 & 24, 2016.
   Schedule of Online Main Test (Tentative) January 2017

2. Eligibility Criteria :
   (a) Age (as on 07.11.2016) Between 20 and 28 years
   (b) Educational Qualifications (as on 07.11.2016): At least a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks (pass class for SC/ST/PWD candidates) in the aggregate and the knowledge of word processing on PC.

   Candidates applying for post in a particular recruiting office should be proficient in the language (i.e. know to read, write, speak and understand the language) of the state/ any of the states falling under the recruiting office.

3. Examination Scheme :
   RBI has decided to revise the scheme of selection for recruitment of Assistant from the year 2016. This was already announced in 1st week of Sep 2016. Under the revised scheme of selection, there shall be two phase online examination i.e. Preliminary and Main examination followed by Interview. Candidates who shall qualify in Preliminary examination and shortlisted will have to appear for Main examination and shortlisted candidates in the Main examination will subsequently be called for Interview . The revised scheme of selection is as follows:-

There will be negative marks for wrong answers in the Objective tests (Preliminary and Main examination).1/4th marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.

c. Interview : 35 marks
Main examination will be conducted within two to three weeks of Preliminary examination. All other criteria of recruitment shall remain the same. Candidates are advised to check the Bank’s website for notification of recruitment.

4. Application fee :
   Candidates can apply online only from 07.11.2016 to 28.11.2016 and no other mode of application will be accepted.

   Rs 50/- for SC/ST/PWD/EXS. (Intimation Charges)
   Rs 450/- for OBC/General candidates (Examination fee+ Intimation Charges)
